What settings did you have in your BIOS, specifically PCIe speed = Gen2 and Advanced Graphics enabled? I'm working on setting up 5x 1080 ti right now and can't quite get it. By that I mean I can run 2 cards in Windows 10 through Nice Hash, but adding a 3rd makes Windows crash after 20 minutes to 1 hour.

What are the specs on the rig that you're having so much problems with it? In our last warehouse we had over 400 1080 Ti's and never had this issue, all of them were built the same though, just standard g4400's on asus primes and good power supplies.

Windows 10 PRO
MSI z270 Pro Gaming Carbon
Intel I3 7100
Ballistix Sport LT 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR4 2666 MT/s
2x Rosewill CAPSTONE1000W GOLD Connected BY Add2PSU(authentic)
5X Nvidia 1080ti mixed brands
128gb M.2 SSD
6-Pack Mining Dedicated Riser USB 3.0 PCI-e Express 1X to 16X Riser Card Extender

GPU's are undervolted to 70%

Were you guys running windows 10 in that warehouse? I think that's where the instability comes from? Also this problem is unfortunately fairly common. In searching for my fix I read many threads where people were having issues with freezing. Most the time the rigs were under built, not enough ram or a faulty riser was the cause.

I'm only posting this very specific thread to hopefully help another poor soul Googling like crazy that may be having this same issues.

I spent multiple weeks doing everything I could find to keep windows 10 from freezing while mining using Nicehash and other mining clients. 4 gpu's worked fine but 5 or more windows would freeze between 5 minutes and a few hours.

I tested all the risers, power was good, everything up to date, wires correct and could not solve the issues. PC was way overbuild, bios updated, 16 gigs ram and high virtual memory.

FIX- I saw this suggestions only a few times in the 50+ threads I read. Run nicehash or the mining software your using in multiple instances. I have 5 gpus and have 3 nicehash windows open. One window has GPU 1 and 2, second window GPU 3 and 4, and the third window has GPU 5. Has been running smooth for 2 days now.

If this doesn't help your situation I'm sorry and may god have mercy on your soul. Just make sure not to overlook this simple solution, best of luck.
