I just wanted opinions from those of you already in the trenches in regards to which is the better bet with a $5000 budget.
I understand with a 6 GPU rig you'd risk the Ethereum PoS switchover at some unknown point in the future. Would you just switch to zCash or Dash at that point?
As far as the A4 Dominator is concerned, I see that it's lifespan will ultimately be decided by when Bitmain decides to flood the market with the cheaper, more effective L3+ at the end of July. What I am wondering is would the A4's value ($1600 at the time of this post) plummet on the resale market or would the fact that Bitmain is throttling the L3+ release in these small batches actually help it hold its value for far longer?
My final question is if you had a $5000 budget what would you do and why?
I have both, multiple GPU rigs, A4's and L3's.
The A4's long term value at its $1600 price point is about to tank a couple of months, so that's out.
If I was looking at that or a GPU rig and I had nothing else right now, I'd build 2 GPU rigs, 1 nvidia 1 amd and spend that $5000 very wisely
Point the Nvidia Rig at Zcash
Point the AMD Rig at either ETH directly or Nicehash for BTC payouts.
In 90-120 days, I'd probably cash in some of my returns and buy an L3+ to round out the setup.
Why would I do this, this way? IMO the key to profit in crypto is like stocks, diversity.
