HI buddy.
I will try it, thanks.
All fans are spinning.
However, SMOS recognised just 2 out of 6. LOL.

..yeah
if you have a usb stick around, try bamt 1.3 (or 1.5 if you feel like it). It's done withing 5 minutes, will work out of the box. if the fans are not spinning, I think its hardware related, no?

Doesn't Windows 8.1 support up to 10 single gpu cores? Ergo, up to 5 of the newer modeled cards?

I've attempted 2 6 card 270 rigs in Win8.1 x64, and none of the drivers would initialize all 6 cards into sgminer for mining.

The 6th card was always error 43'd out, no matter what i tried.

Hi,

following this video: http://www.youtube.com/all_comments?v=t3iup26oUN4
I installed windows 8.1 for my Gigabyte mobo with 6x Gigabyte R9 270 cards.
So far I have even not tested cgminer, however, having much mroe success as opposed to BAMT SMOS, where only 4 of the 6 GPUs were spinning fans and 2 were recognizes by cgminer.
Now all the 6 spins the fans, and the device manager was initially recognizing just 4, however, I put a dummy plug on one of the problematic ones and put it directly into the slot without a riser. That made the trick and now it recognizes 5, however, the 6 can not be recognized.
I can read at least 3 builds while googling that folks succeeded to get running 6 x R9 270 exactly on Windows 8.1.
However, no one says what exactly he did.
Also what is stranger, the 6th card even did not show in the device manager as "unknown device".
Any advices?  Roll Eyes
Please, help!
