I think in one year the optimists around went from "quite pessimistic" to "absurdly optimistic".
I'd be happy with 4 digits in the end of the year, and I think 5 are possible. 6 would be a crazy 2011 type of thing. But 7...
Would you be sad with 3 digits?

No, I'd just be 'meh'.

7 digits, no.

6 digits, maybe.

We will need to increase much faster than we are now though. Wink

lets see,

say that suddenly out of no where, bill gate and warren buffet both decided to sell everything and buy bitcoin

so they both got like 120 billion dollar

say if both of them go to the exchange and buy 1 bitcoin = 1 million dollar, they can only manage to buy 120,000 bitcoin

but as far as you know, there are 12 million bitcoin in circulation and if 10% bitcoin want to sell off for 1 miliion each, you have 10 times the supply over the demand

you can only wish that only 1% of the bitcoin in circulation wanna sell of at 1 million each so you can sustain the price for like a few seconds

so the conclusion is

NOPE, wont happen

there are more than 1500 billionaires in the world, net worth 45 trillion. there is a lot more where that came from too.

Ok then, let say the 1500 bilionaires all buy the bitcoin for 1 million each, then what ? is not like they can do anything with it yet, so those billionaire have sold everything they got and all they can do now is to stare at the 1000 bitcoin they have, yes, the number "1000" on their monitor screen

We are moving into a more virtual age. Instead of lounging on super yachts we will see billionaires sitting on benches showing each other their mycelium balances. They will then return to their flop houses with the glow of a day well lived.

It's obvious that after they sold everything to buy 1000 bitcoin then they go to work minimal wage at burger king flipping burgers! That's how billionaires roll - in disguise. So that will happen soon, for reals.

At least they would be able to buy lots of pokemons for their DS as there is bitcoin pokemon exchange called MtPokEGoX

Possible? More unlikely things have happened.

Not with Bitcoin.  It has never had a 2000x increase in 6 months.

Unlikely things can happen with bitcoin.  Tbh,  I am a bear so this is probably a pessimistic forecast by other standards.

seven digits, but with a decimal somewhere around the middle.

7 digits? As in 10 million USD per coin? Now that would be something... I think it is more probable to have a digit somewhere in the middle, $1000 to $10.000

How much is 7 digits..?

100, 000.. no, thats six.

1, 000 000. Wow. Yes, alright, I agree, 7 digits! I can live with that.

And yes, as said, stranger things have happened. I do predict a market crash and some turmoil and war, rising oil and gold-prices etc. Not impossible.

I think 5 digits before end of year has a significant possibility of happening.  I expect between 6000 and 11000  20,000 ATH.

I upped this a bit more after looking at straight line trendline of peak prices in http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/bitstampUSD#tgSzm1g10zm2g25zvzl

Possible? More unlikely things have happened.

No, because 7 digits means that bitcoin has taken over as THE payment system used worldwide.  Western Union, Paypal, Visa?  All thrown away in the dustbin of history because of bitcoin.

That MIGHT happen in 25 years+, but not this year.

Time speeds up with an acceleration (measured by the frequency of innovations, see Terence McKenna's time wave theory). You might want to take the square root from 25. You would end up with just 5 years.

Or it could just mean hyper inflation of the USD which isn't impossible, just unlikely.
