Most of the coins that suceeded has had one of these characteristics, like someone mentioned above. So this is not fully true.
There will always be new people with 0 knowledge who will mine scamcoins so..
Nothing wrong with a small premine (<1% of total coins ever existing), depends on what is done with it.
If you don't like it, ignore it.

Actual real world value, after the hype news agencies made about bitcoin, people started buying a lot which caused that massive bubble. People thought it's use would spread rapidly, but it did not....then someone capitalized on that and sold a ton of them, driving the price down. Now people are cautious when buying/trading btc.
