Right, we are so close to $20k so next year we could be expecting an amount of $50k-$100k equivalent of bitcoin. $70k is reachable for sure because our pace is much faster it reached $10k.

$1,000,000 is possible, $100,000 is possible too so $70,000 is very possible. I'm seeing it come very soon maybe next year? If not it will happen on 2019, just keep your bitcoins on hold so that we can have a better life to come because of bitcoin.

Sometime ago, I tought it would take months or years to reach such value.

Now I think 70k is very possible... in March.

yeah me too ill never expect that bitcoin value will go higher like this.  In just one month  it grows a lot even now adays it keeps climbing.  Maybe soon it will make a new value again i think 25k before December 25 ..Unless if there's no issue that can stop bitcoin price.

Bitcoin price may reach to $70k soon I think this would be next year probably febtomarch. Yes i thought it also that it took time to reach at this current price close to $20k now. So $70k is very possible with the current phase of bitcoin that too fast to up high.

I think Bitcoin price will be $70.000 end of 2018.

Bitcoin price increased % 484.45 in 6 months.

If Bitcoin even just increase % 484.45 in 12 months...

Price will be $72000...

Looking at trends 2 or more years, Bitcoin appears to be headed for $70,000 over the next 3 years though it appears heavily bullish right now. Are there people with charts/trends etc taking us to the $70,000 level over the next 3 years?

70,000$ is huge number but with this huge demand and increasing trading using bitcoin it’s possible
Trust me bro, $12,000 was way too unrealistic in 2009/2010 and then here we are now. In this world of cryptocurrency, I feel we just have to keep riding in the waves and see how thing turn out but anything is possible. Looking at the usage of bitcoin on a global level, there are still very few people using it, and then I want you to imagine that on a large scale and tell me what you feel it would be like when we get to see a huge adoption.

Give it 3-10 years.
10 years is pretty far if we are to consider the rate at which bitcoin is moving right now. So many people have predicted even $25000 before the middle of next year. At this stage, I cannot dispute any fact.

Bitcoin market is completely new, anything can happen but considering the positive aspect and being optimistic, $70000 is a value will can expect and kind of realistic by 2020. I won't be surprised if it ends up coming even before then looking at what has happened this year.

It is possible for the next three years but lets not forget that bitcoin can also go decrease because bitcoin has ups and downs. But i hope that $70,000 in the next 3 years will happen because if that happens we will all be big time.

I like your attitude in thinking that bitcoin is going to $70,000 over the next 3 years. The problem is, no one can really predict where the price is heading. If we all need to based on graphs, I'm sure that we can correlate everything and see it going that way. But bitcoin market has somewhat defy the traditional way of analyzing the trend and graphs. So I say that it's possible, or even it can go above $70,000, but what if it didn't?

This $70,000 may come sooner than 2020 halving if this positive trend continues for another 2-3 months and we pull out into the 20k area where the 5 figure pricing will start to look normal to everyone.
With the rate bitcoin is moving, that is definitely something that is possible. A lot of people are still very skeptical as to the movement of bitcoin right now with a lot of news going on with the bubble bursting and all that, but I guess only time will definitely tell in the long run if it is a bubble that is going to burst or it is the real deal and $70k by 2020 seems a possibility.

It's really possible to really reach it but we can't be for certain. I think we should all be cautious, there might be some correction in the next 3 years. But just like everyone here, I like to see we get that price. Imagine those people who is holding even a small portion will have a lot of money just by holding on it. Let's see how it goes.  Grin

I mean talk about reaching a price of 12,000 USD now I wpuldn't be surprise if 70,000 USD is within grasp by the next 3 years. I mean a drastically and massive increase of demand has really gone viral for bitcoin  and in no time it wouldn't surprise if 70,000 USD is reach as early as 2 years.

It would be great though, If it ever happens that would be after it has gone through a massive price fall that has made people withdraw their investments in the crypto leaving only the dogged investors to rip the benefits.

Yeah, it has been predicted. A lot of prices have been predicted in the past which we are already seeing now. The truth is, so many news going around now, with bitcoin bursting or a tulip bulb have been said all this while to create fear in the market by those who really want to get back in at the right cost, but we won't give them that pleasure. $70k it is!

$70,000  Shocked , that is really high speculative price. I know that Bitcoin price is very promising but making such a huge guess can be confusing because market goes both up and down. But if it speculates according to the graphs then you might able to see such high value.

Since we are talking about long term prediction I can say that bitcoin can really hit this price. In 2-4years we can see improvements and better to hold some bitcoin if you want to earn big profit years from now.

This is only a hypothesis , it's maybe happen maybe not but in my opinion it could be happen because the potiental of Bitcoin is so good.
Definitely, no one can predict the future and with the way things are going, we can only guess what could happen with everything moving on fine in the long run. Right now, there is so much uncertainty in the market and most people are really looking forward to see how things end up going.

FUD is still being generated by all these dudes who claim to be some economist which I believe is for their own selfish reasons, with the market pulling through and getting stronger, then we definitely should see that $70k coming.

Yeah bitcoin definitely will reach $70K but time needed to reach that value can not be predicted but I expect it will reach it in 2019.Because every year the bitcoin price is keeps increasing at good rate in 2017 the price increased upto 1200% if we apply the same rate of growth next year it will cross over $100K but I am not saying it will reach $100K in next year but there is possibility for that to happen.
But some economists creating negative thought on bitcoin by repeatedly saying bitcoin is an bubble it will burst soon,I hope it will not happen with bitcoin.

Yes.It take some time to achieve the raise. Everything is happening in bitcoin as the Eye closed  beliefs of the Investors. In this year start the speculations was of 3000$ ,it was happened. Then the value raised to 5000$,it was achieved by bitcoin later on 10,000$ .Even that peak was reached by bitcoin. So as like that 70,000$ also achieved by bitcoin sure but it takes some time to reach.

In the next three years bitcoin is going to be above above $100,000 and $70,000 may happen next year base on how things are going. I think there are alot of charts out there that are foretell were bitcoin is going to be in 2020 and some of them predicted above $100,000 and McAfee said bitcoin will be above $1,000,000 by 2020.going through news online today I read how a big Future trading company got approval from its government to go into bitcoin trading and they are going to start in the next ten days and that will be a great advantage.

No one can dispute that. No body can predict what the future holds and which is why this is the speculation thread anyway. However, if we look at the rate of which things happened this year and how so far bitcoin has done, then we will see that anything can be possible in the positive. Sure, we cannot say for now looking at the level at which the market is doing based on FUD, but looking at all the FUDs from the start and the way things have been with bitcoin still surging, then the market is growing stronger everyday which is something to be optimistic about.

Does anyone know if BTC developers will ever fix the slow transaction issue? Is it on their roadmap?

This part of your comment really looks a bit uninformed. As if there have not been continuous forking battles over the direction of Bitcoin and that there is a quick and simple solution for the scaling issue.

Perhaps you should consider rephrasing your question.

I am not quite able to understand why Bitcoin core developers don't move forward with some type of dynamic block size and so on. I am a software developer myself and sure there are some tough decisions that come around when choosing updates to an existing software but it cannot be this hard to make a choice. Considering the billions of dollars in investments, I think Bitcoin core can do better to solve these issues and keep itself the best in terms of security and performance.
Very interesting question, I guess that they do not want to risk damaging the image of BTC, to begin could be very difficult for them to agree on any change between them and much less have the approval of the majority of the community that finally is the one that supports in some way or another to the network in the form of transactions or whatever you want to call it, then instead of making some radical change they wait a long time trying or testing other things before carrying them out so  yourself can see that it has worked for them that they have done.

Momentum is back at it again, I guess the first hurdle is the $10,000 mark which hopefully will drop on us before early next year.

We welcomed the 2017 by just $1000 per bitcoin it and now we about to close the year with $10000. It just so amazing seeing this uptrend and it grow ×10 and it really gives us a huge profit. And now bitcoin is in the hot seat again and in the lips of everyone. Surely many now are desperate to own now this precious coin.

While it is possible to be achieved 70,000 for the next three, four or five years because of the recent trend regarding fast pacing increase of bitcoin in a day with price rising to 7,000 to 10,000 USD before the year end. While it might be going that way there is no guaranteed assurance for that price increase. Bitcoin will have to go through many things like overcoming the odds of comments of politics, businessmans, passing between the impose rules and regulations.

Well, it is not possible to reach $70,000 but if you are thinking that it will be reached after 3 years i would definitely say "No" because that is too early and it will take a long run before we reach that kind of price. To be honest, the $20,000 is not yet being reached since the bitcoin started what more for $70,000 right? Hoping isn't bad anyways. Smiley

Observing the behavior that bitcoin has had throughout this year, I still can not understand the insistence of many so-called "expert analysts" to try to predict the future behavior of bitcoin based on the pseudo-scientific indicators of technical analysis.

The bitcoin phenomenon has no parallel with what the markets have presented throughout its history, so there are no historical references to assume that the bitcoin can follow a certain pattern, what seems true is that this tremendous upward race can undoubtedly lead Bitcoin to break the $100,000 barrier in a much shorter time than many think.
and yet it is these conversations that we promote these forecasts to the society of cryptography. The fact is that I also doubted the prospects for Bitcoin, which already exist today. 9000 dollars This is a very good indicator. But if you take into account what figures you voice, then we have nothing to do but just wait and see it.

All this talk about $8000 and $10,000 and $15,000....This is literally like a gold rush right now considering most people in this world will hear about Bitcoin in the next couple years and will want to own one just for the sake of owning it.

Does anyone know if BTC developers will ever fix the slow transaction issue? Is it on their roadmap?

There aren't any bitcoin developers as such, the community decide the direction and there have been many discussions and suggestions to fix transaction speed and cost, that's what the whole segwit2x was about, discussions are still ongoing and a solution will be reached in time.

It will be more than $70,000, but it will take some years to achieve that price, i think that we are just going to be at ten thousand dollars at the end of the year, but there has to be another dump.. Maybe bitcoin will drop to $7000 again in some time, maybe on 2018.
But in the end, it will always be going up because that is exactly what will always happen on the market. when there is a huge dump, then the price will duplicate the money of that dump x2.
i have been looking at the patterns and it always happens.

It seems to me that it is impossible to predict the bitcoin price for such a long time. Bitcoin is unpredictable. Its price is not growing linearly. There's no way we can influence it and can only watch today. Besides, no one is considering the long drop. That you are sure that this option can not be? I don't remember what year but such a precedent has already been. The price of bitcoin fell by almost 2 times. Any forecasts. We have to live one day.

let us flashback to 1 - 2 years ago, the price of bitcoin is about 500 USD - 600 USD but nowadays, after 2 years, the price has been increased so high more than 10 times.
but that is different situation with the current price. it will be so hard to increase 10 times again

But you are counting a lot of slow growth when bitcoin wasn't in the news at all and adoption was just chugging along just starting to recover from the lows of the long Mt Gox crash. Look at the past just 10 months. Over 7x in 10 months. Sure the rate of growth will slowdown. But 7x in 10 months to 10x in 38 months (end of 2020) sure seems like a doable slowdown. Heck in a couple more months price might hit $10k, so then it'd only need to do another 7x in 36 months.

Just look at the past 3 months. Price broke $3000 for the first time 3 months ago, and in that time it has gone up 150%! The doubling rate this year has been less than 4 months. Even if the doubling rate slows allllll the way down to 12 months starting now, in November of 2020 the price would still be $56k, And it is only that low if the growth percentage slows down by a massive amount starting right now, which obviously isn't gonna happen.

I would say this is not only possible but very likely. I'd be pretty surprised if the price is under $70k in three years. Likely the only way it is lower is if bitcoin devs fail to implement a good scaling solution in the next couple of years.

Looking at trends 2 or more years, Bitcoin appears to be headed for $70,000 over the next 3 years though it appears heavily bullish right now. Are there people with charts/trends etc taking us to the $70,000 level over the next 3 years?

let us flashback to 1 - 2 years ago, the price of bitcoin is about 500 USD - 600 USD but nowadays, after 2 years, the price has been increased so high more than 10 times.
but that is different situation with the current price. it will be so hard to increase 10 times again

I don't have any charts on me but yes I expect $70k roughly around the summer of 2020, give or take a few months.

2017 - $10k
2018 - $25-30k
2019 - $50-60k
2020 - $80-100k

I think these are pretty reasonable predictions. I could certainly see it being a bit higher than this, or if something gets in the way of bitcoin becoming a typical but small investment for institutional investors then it could take a bit longer.

I definitely like the look of this but I suppose we have to adhere to that boring old adage of ‘let’s wait & see’

3 years is a short period of time to reach $70k. Though bitcoin is rising the price quick so I dont think it will reach instant. It will takes long that we could seeing $70k in bitcoin. More users the more demand is increasing that will give a huge count to the bitcoin community.

Anything is possible with bitcoin we had seen a great surge yesterday it had reach $7700 mark value, if that 3 years is short for you, for us that is enough year to settle a higher price and we are getting in a 5 digit price right now even if we can not make a specific prediction we can surely make a speculation that we can reach that amount in just 3 years bitcoin is fluctuating so much that is why I think it may be possible.

I don't think so. It is indeed amazing how high the rate of the market value oof Bitcoin is, at this moment but we don't know until when will it continue rising with a rate as high as this. And to think that it will rwache a value as that big within just two ueats it would really seem to be impossible. Bitcoin will be more expensive but I doubt that in just two years it will be priced at 70000$.

bitcoin need more than 5 years to up only 1k$ and now up more than 6$ in one year so it is hard to say bitcoin price will up 6k$ every year .
price will be 70,000 in Long term but in shore one it is so hard to say that specially High price may make people invest in altcoins more than bitcoin (High fee) that will make low Demand (in other words price down)

If Bitcoin lives long, then definitely someday you may see Bitcoin crossing $70,000 but right now it is not going to happen any soon. Bitcoin market cap is enlarging everyday and if it continues like this then this goal is possible. But on the road of success there will be many enemies also trying to push Bitcoin back everyday like banks, investors, governments and much more. The journey is tough and hence such a speculation seems to be unclear and untouchable.

It looks as if Bitcoin price has built the biggest base ramp ever in its short history. We are only at the foot of what seems to be an epic price spike ahead of us.

$70k, I can see it happening for sure.

who knows possible it will reach $70,000 the price of bitcoin but we don't know when will happen its hard to predict what years will increase that amount but what if the price of bitcoin will steady in $50,000 just because of high transaction fee, maybe impossible to reach $70,000.

Possible in the next five or ten years but in the short run maybe 10,000 US dollar is possible in the next year but as of now 70,000 is hard to reach in the short period of time. It takes time to make other people appreciate more of bitcoin because there are those to proud persons who don't  want to accept bitcoin and other cryptocurrency.

i think very dificult or maybe imposible if bitcoin price incraese to 70k dollar
if reach 70k dollar, all people can replace another coin sample ETH to transaction in gambling site, bounty, signature all about bussiness in crypto not use bitcoin , bitcoin only trade in market and only use exchange to fiat money

3 years is a very short duration to reach 70,000 USD.

It is indeed a huge figure, however there will be an increasingly huge number of people waking up to Bitcoin too. The journey into the tens of thousands may well be an easier and quicker one compared to the journey from 1c to $100.

1 person getting excited in 2011 might be 500 people getting excited in 2018. Do the math as they say.

Of course it all go totally tits up too but right now momentum is still with it.

3 years is a very short duration to reach 70,000 USD. If the trend is to be the basis, then perhaps. However, let us take this into the reality. Imagine how high that price is. There will be a strong resistance to higher price in the coming years so this is just too much. I am not saying that I am against with that price, I'd personally love that if that will happen that soon. But there is not enough support to go there within that span.

Seriously ? You are talking about price to go up into $70,000 ? I'm not shocked but rather confused that you day it would happen in the next 3 years. That price mark is possible to attain but it will take a lot of years to go through. Maybe for now we are close to $10,000 mark.

I think you are right but considering we went from $1000 to $7000 in a matter of months, we never know and it may coincide with the halving that will happen around 2020. I do agree that its a significant pump of capital into Bitcoin world to achieve such a huge rise in price. If the institutional investors start to implement some products around Bitcoin, I believe we will get to that mark very quickly though.

If the trend will be continous as in no such thing as correction price, FUD, negative pullbacl then that is possible even in less than 3 years. But that it's impossible that the trend will always go straight without any correction. That's how market works since the beginning.

It's early to think too much high hopes for the bitcoin price. Just enjoy the current state and just desire the target that is closest to reality first. If $70,000 will happened then so be it.

Of course there's no such thing as a continuous parabolic growth although bitcoin has defy the some basic economic laws recently with it rapid increase this year alone. I guess that once we reach $10000 next year we gonna see if we can still press further. We need another breath of fresh positive news that will push it and keeps going. Yes, its not impossible as long as there are new faces coming in and don't want to miss the boat or the hype train. We all hope that we can see it in the future, what remains is that we believed that it can be done despite many roadblocks ahead.

Long term definitely, I don’t like putting date targets in place though. The next halving is in 2020 so who knows, it’s definitely possible.
Seems likely that it is going to happen after the halving. And if all these dramas will stop and everyone will be supporting only one coin which is legacy bitcoin. Everything is easy to bitcoin and it can even give us some more but yeah its better not to give exact dates.

I'm not sure. Its really hard to tell eveb if it is true that its market value at this moment is continuously increasing since we don't know until when will it have a rate as this high on the increase of its market price. And also 70000$ is way far from its current value which is approaching to 8000$ to be reached within only 2 years from now.
Nope, you're right just try to take the real formula regarding it. Imagine the bitcoin worth $500 - $700 at the previous year and this time it is worth  over $7000. Let me say there is a lot of increase around $6500 - $6900
and i can say there will be more increase but no more than $10000 at the end of this year, So the possible thing about the bitcoin's price increase every year will be more slowly. Because the more value on the bitcoin.
2x will be more difficult to be reached from now.

I think the backdrop of the meteoric rise of bitcoin prices, people are losing their minds. In order for bitcoin had a price need to a large number of people had resources to buy it at that price. Show me people who can now easily purchase bitcoin at $ 7,000. Bought most of bitcoin before, or have earned it. People have no such amount of free money. It seems to me that at some point bitcoin will stop for this reason. Maybe even the price will drop. As it is not sad but to keep this price only those who have a lot of illegal money and they want to legalize them through bitcoin.

I think it's still too early if bitcoin prices can reach $ 70,000 within the next 3 years. although this speculation is based on graphic data during the year, but not least if some of the politics issues and stopping interest people in buying again, so prices will experience steady, possibly tending to decline.

Bitcoin's price always had ups and downs. While 70000$ is possible in 3 years, I don't think it'll happen. Not this quick.
There will be some downs which will make the 70000$ quotation get much later, maybe 8-10+ years.
Bitcoin had a wonderful year, but this doesn't mean the next years will be this good.
You know, hope for the best, but prepare for the worse. Even a fall back to 4000$ would not be so unexpected after the jumps we had. And then the discussion about 70000$ in 3 years time would be.. interesting...

70,000 is definitely possible in the long run. It's hard to say what we'll see in the short run, though. It seems like as of now, the support is exponentially increasing due to the interest of the cryptocurrency by numerous tech services and companies. For example, amazon is trying to bring bitcoin into its system and I'm positive that amazon's support of the coin is what has helped bring bitcoin up to 7000. If there is some way to keep the support up to the levels that it has reached recently, it would not be hard to reach 70,000. However, this suppport will die out eventually; there is a max number of people who can support btc.
