I don't think it's the case for all hero members because I am 99% sure that

https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/turtlehurricane-255148

Was a hero member but than deleted a whole bunch of posts

Could have been fixed since then but the effect may not be retroactive, which allows these outlier cases of few members that retained their rank.

Does anyone want to try and spade the result when they do lower the activity past the threshold? (Or theymos can chime in and reveal the answer).

How to do such a thing? I will pay 0.05 BTC if anyone knows how? It is very unusual, if join signature campaign, I will get many stake
Do you also need lessons in how to read? I've already answered the question, plain and simple above. Hero Members, Newbie and Legendary accounts do not have their rank revoked when their posts are deleted. Conversely, Junior Members to Sr. Members do get their rank revoked once their Activity drops below the rank requirement.

IIRC this was an unintended bug and has not yet been fixed.

The user has deleted hundreds of his post.

Deleting post does not affect the rank once attained.

Not for every rank. Only Newbie, Hero and Legendary are exceptions or you can say its a kind of error. For every other rank your rank get lower with deleting post.

Probably just a bug - he got +10 trust so it seems he's a legit member and he's been here since 2013.

I do not understand why this can happen, he should not have the rank of HeroMember with only 71 activities

I read some thread before that once you reached the legendary rank and you delete most of your posts but your activity will not be affected and you will remain as a legendary but I never thought that hero member has the same feature also or just a bug?  Undecided

It's exactly this.

Furthermore, a quote from theymos confirms this:

IIRC only Newbie, Hero, and Legendary members don't get demoted normally. Maybe I'll fix it at some point, but it's not really a big deal.

I thought it's only on Legendary as I read it elsewhere for many times now. I just know today after reading your post that Hero Member was also invulnerable for demotion. Thanks for this info.

Maybe OP can locked this thread now. Smiley

Bought account maybe, and perhaps he's clearing the slate?  Or just having a change of heart on his opinions?

Anyway I've seen this before and it confused me at first till I figured out what was said above.  Yeah it looks strange.

Edit:  It's going to take a long ass time for him to reach legendary now, so I assume he has a good reason for deleting all those posts.

I'm pretty sure you were dreaming. Hero and Legendary ranks are semi-permanent (usually permanent but can be reverted if an admin sees), and at least usually last for a month.

Your enthusiasm intrigues me. You have dreams of earning a blue half-coin? :-/

I think admin can demote any rank why you say Here and Legendary is semi-permanent? Same applies to each and every rank I guess.
He's talking about a different a different matter  Roll Eyes , there is a bug where demotion for Newbies, Hero member and Legendary members is not handled properly by the forum. See examples where accounts with less than 400 posts still have hero member status. Sure admins have the power to delete most of the posts and demote a rank or two, but I haven't heard of such cases. Anyway, this is quite OT

Do a little research.

Looks as if his recent posts are in alternate cryptos - maybe there has been a policy change or something.

Must be a forum bug since theymos did a global post recount. Also, I believe that if a mod "nuked" a user, it will delete all of its post history, but the rank status would remain as is. I forgot which mod said that but that's what I recall back in 2015 regarding accounts that have been nuked by mods.

Yeah the user might just delete most of his/her post ,
What would they get from it? and also does it affect your application for some campaigns?
