No reason it should not work.

I've had 5xxx/6xxx, 6xxx/7xxx and 5xxx/7xxx combos working well.

They will work.  Before I built a dedicated miner, I had a gamer workstation with 2 x 7750's in it.  I then added a 7850 and then a 7950.

Now the gamer has the 7750's and the 7850 still in it.  The dedicated has 2 x 7950's and a 7850.  Had to RMA a 7950 to NewEgg and I found a used 7850 for $100, so I bought it.

I scrypt mine and get the following hash rates per card:

7750 - 170 KH/s
7850 - 340 KH/s
7950 - 575 KH/s

They will work, provided the motherboard has empty slots and your PSU is sufficient.

as far as I understood, all 7xxx work with all 7xxx, all 6xxx with all 6xxx, 5xxx with all 5xxx and so on. Never tried though  Smiley

Hi there! 7870 on discount here now so considering adding one or 2 to my existing 7950 machine. Will they be able to work together? If so can someone point me in the direction of where I can see how to set it up?
Making a dedicated rig is not an option as I am dirt poor :/

thanks!
