I have seen lots of people mining with artifacts on the screen, it could still be good for mining. Maybe you might want to bake it see if that will fix it.
If you want to look it up its called reflowing.

Same problem, running A reference 7970 and the Drivers crashes and recovers while mining+gaming.. The card works if its just mining only (Stable even overclocked) . It works fine while gaming too.

running AMD catalyst 13.4.. tried beta 13.6 and its the same.

Any Ideas What would fix it? Drivers 12.8 Can fix it?

do you know if seller overclocked it ?
When I O/C my cards they work 100% for mining; however when I play games the gpu load is only ~40% but it causes the drivers to reset/crash game.

It should be fine as any errors would just make it the share get rejected by the pool

it actually depends whats causing it to crash but if it runs id personally go for it worst case is it has to be a 2nd card so it only mines and dosnt have to run a dispaly or it produces alot of errors

iv got a card that blue screens all the time on its own as a 2nd card mining away sometimes it can be moody but if you get them cheap enough there worth the risk

I was looking for some cheap mining cards and I stumbled across a 7970 for $100 except the owner says that it has an issue with crashing during gameplay but runs fine in windows normally, im guessing that means its no good for mining, or am i wrong?
