Just curious why people think bfl singles are worth $775 dollars? At current price and difficulty with reward drop at end of december, I'm calculating 555 days to pay off a single at that price vs 165 to pay off a 5970 (last purchase was $220), it just doesn't make since to me. Will we ever see a 400 dollar single? Cause that's about what I would be willing to pay.
Two reasons:
1) Some people will likely buy them to take advantage of the trade-in offered by BFL.  As long as they mine more than the premium of the payment (i.e, $800 in the case of Trader Joe) prior to their ASIC shipment, they will have made money.
2) Lower electrical usage.  A 5970 is going to suck down significantly more juice than a BFL unit.  Especially for those in areas with high electric rates, it can make a large difference in overall profitability.

I see you bought that 5970 from ebay. I was tempted to buy it too but I don't have any available pci-e slots to plug it into.

Heh yep it was free and holds all my equipment.

Working on re-modeling my basement, so there's a little sheetrock dust.

I'm pretty sure I had that same desk a few years back. 3 parts? Sits in a corner? Raised monitor stand? Really crappy particle board? Was so glad when I got rid of that.

Also, are those the same 3 Single, just in different pics? Wink

Also, dust much?
