You only need to move afterburner core clock slider to the right and they do 60MH, no need for mods.

Strap modding only helps to boost equihash and cryptonight, they are not memory limited in dagger. Although their bios contains timings for various memory types I have seen them only with Hynix bfr memory.

With some heavier oc they do 65MH on dagger but there's no point in doing that when they do an easy 55MH undervolted+underclocked, right now 10MH pays you only $0.5/ day.

Hmm seem like all that investment for nothing, so make it work let say I could get 2 PSU each 2400 watt, btw have you guys tried these china PSU? i know they have low quality product But I saw a guy on youtube using this

Got 4 of them in 2 h110 boards. They needed 1200 PSU and all summer they throttled down to 22Mhs each. 2 XFX and 2 Sapphire cards. Sapphire got better thermals but all of them got to 30Mh/s with 1090 core and 1300 memory. But... on open air rigs, they manage to melt all 4 PCI riser SATA connectors, and all of the 8pins. I was using push/pull SP120 fans on all the rads, but the cards could not stay below 72-73 at best. The 120 rad is way too small for the dissipated heat. I now kept 1 of them, watercooled with custom waterblock, added a 240 rad and the card is working grat at 56-57 max temp.

I would not recommend using risers with low AWG cabling, and for sure do not use the SATA connection. Use 6pin power for the risers.
Also cool the backplate of the cards with as cool air as you can, or else you are going to burn the 8pin power connectors in a matter of days, rendering the card almost useless, unless you want to use custom wiring soldered to the cards.

If you push them (heavy oc, dualmining, some algos) you are going to have two problems, heat and pcie power connectors. 295x2 starts to throttle at 75 degrees and default cooler can't keep it below that limit without undervolting. Also pulling 500-600 watts from a single psu connector is too much, connectors and cables start to melt so you need to use two connectors at psu per one card. So in theory to run nine cards unleashed one would need a psu with 18 pcie connectors haha!

But with current low mining profits there is no reason to push them, after some tuning they are somwhere in 250-400 watts per card area, temps are no issue and one can use only single 8+8pin cable per card.

295x2 has two hawaii gpu's with 4gb memory each.

Never tried more than three cards (6 gpu's) in one rig.

When your electricity is cheap like you said then I don't see any cons to be honest, just be sure to get some serious PSUs to power those monsters! They are powerful cards (50+Mh/s) and use up some serious juice! Grin

Hopefully he can return the cards. This is about the worst possible card to mine with. Even with cheap electric, 500 watts for 50 Mh/s? That is horrible. The cheap electric could help off set how poor these cards are, but that isn't going to make up for the cost of the PSUs you will need to get to 4500 watts for 9 cards.

Also, it will not "be basically 18 cards". These cards have 2 processors, but only 6 gig of memory. It is not the same as 2 cards. They are slower and less efficient than any 2 modern cards.

Throw them on ebay and get some AMD 5xx cards or Nvidia 10xx cards.

Alright so my main concern is, after doing some research I found very few topics regarding this R9 295x2 card, from what I read there is only 1 guy who managed to make only 4 of these cards works on his machine, I am not sure about which mobo he used I asked him on his youtube account tho. waiting for his reply.

So do you guys think that it could be possible in terms of making it work Tongue

as technically H110 Pro BTC+ supports 13 cards only and we are trying to put 18 cards?

we also have now Asus B250 mining expert board which supports 19 gpu but it still has some limitation as it support upto 11 AMD and 8 Nvdia cards, so I guess this board is not in the picture right now, till they release new bios which is expected in 2018.

Don't think heat will be an issue since they are water cooled.

Power wise each 290 uses probably around ~250 Watts.
