OP you ain't see nothing yet. In altcoin you will find dozen threads about MEW, best ICO, best bounty, top 5 altcoin. In gambling you will find lots threads about "best gambling strategy" "best dice strategy" "best gambling site" "gambling VS trading". Each board has something similar and this didn't start recently and because of merit. Easiest way to make 20-30 posts for signature campaign is in these topics because you don't really need to write anything constructive, only thing you have to do is to agree with account who posted above you and to repeat that post using your own words.

On side note, anyone else noticed randomnames.com accounts above on first page?  Grin

I think it is a product of people asking first rather than reading something if the topic has already been created. This is a problem in the forum for signature spammers where they run out of topics to post too that they will create their own senseless topics for their own. Their selfish reason will of course trigger a bigger problem which is creating a generic thread that will be a breeding ground for more spam post which will later on become a megathread of its own.

Well this is also ultimately up to the campaign managers to ensure their users aren't creating posts/topics that have 0 purpose & are considered spam.

IMO, if campaign managers aren't properly vetting their users, they shouldn't be permitted to hold their campaign on BitcoinTalk (or at-least the signature portion)

You have a different levels of spam.
- Level The worst Shitposter The lowest level is one word/line shitposters like "Nice", "Good project", "Like", etc.
- Level Broken shitposter Posting in so broken english that you cannot understand what he is talking about, example " I conceive that could be viable, mainly in a burly rubberneck loci in organization to construct the pay business in carry easy and fast." I had to copy this one,I just can't make up something like this.
To this level belong also the shitposters that post totally offtopic.
- Level Advanced Shitposter There you have the one-two liners like, " I like this project, I think this project have a great future, I believe in the project that's why I want to invest in it." or copy-paste previous comments.
- Level 0-value Analyzer Then next lever is a bit more sophisticated spam, like analysis of something obvious or something that have no meaning at all like " I like the XXX coin because it's based on CryptoNight which is a proof-of-work algorithm created for mining with ordinary CPU-GPUs" and so on.
- Level The Fake Guru Then you have the highest level of spam which is plagiarism from external sources, I'm not talking about the copy-paste the previous shit-post this is normal practice for the fist levels but this is a text copied from Internet and spun trough the Article spinners.
Those are the worst level of Spam to detect.

Too true. This should be made into a separate thread and bookmarked. OP probably falls into 0 value or Advanced.

The most annoying ones IMO, are thread creators. I'm super conservative when it comes to making threads (only making threads which need to be posted). Most of these shit-posters generally don't even take that into account.

While doing business, you'll face all sorts of misleading information from everywhere. Also, the same type of question comes again and again not just for merits, but the investors wanna be sure. That doesn't mean all the comments are left there are definitely spams and even scammers. So, just do it in your own way, look at what you need and no need to bother about other comments.

Its a bit frustrating to all these similar posts all day. Some of them are signature spams but there is a possibility that some of the posts are actually by newbies or beginners who are trying to learn something.

Gaining merit is not the reason behind these kind of posts. They are mostly spam as people are asking similar type of questions and having similar type of reply, which is increasing the quantity while the quality remains low.

Where do we put/rank pyramid quoting nonsense? Man, these fake conversations, perfect lines and structure have always had a special place in my heart. Grin
Do you think they deserve a category of their own or they can slide into 0-value Analyzer?

No trolling here, I do have a very serious question. As some of you have probably noticed, the phrase "burly rubberneck loci" is becoming part of our daily bitcointalk life. Can I use it without quotation marks? I'm not sure who to credit: rucapri0 or google translate + unknown glitchy spinbot? It's like an idiom describing 2/3 of the users here.  Cheesy

No, this kind of post are not made for merit. They made for signature spam.
Agreed, and if they were starting the same threads and posting in them in order to earn merit, they're failing miserably.

Bounty spammers learn how to write a few basic things about bitcoin--usually how it's increasing day by day; it has a bright future; and that it's improved their life ever since they "joined bitcoin".  So what you'll see is that somebody will start a thread with a generic title like "how bitcoin has helped you" or something similar, and most of the posts there will basically be the same.  This is mostly the case in sections like Bitcoin Discussion where there are so many shitposts that only a small fraction of them ever get looked at and deleted by mods.

My suggestion would be to stay far, far away from the spam sections.  Unfortunately Bitcoin Discussion is one of the worst on a forum where you'd think it would be one of the best.  I tend to favor the Economics section, but even there a lot of the replies are generic, zero-value shitposts.

You have a different levels of spam.

Nice.  And it's sad that probably 90% of posts in certain sections are made by people who fit one of those categories.  It's a damn shame, especially when you're trying to find posts to merit.  And if I finally do find a post that looks like it has some thought put into it?  I have to freakin' check it to make sure it isn't plagiarism.  Makes me want to pull my hair out sometimes.

will btc become to world currency, that guy said btc going to be 100k, other guy said btc will be 3k, whales real or not etc..everyday i see new topics but most of them are clons.is that all for merit or what?
All that is for getting their daily post quota filled - they are all shitposters waiting to get their hands full off measly bucks from spamming. They dont care to add quality to discussion to the topics nor do they want to try their best to know and read before they post. But we cant help it because its the inherent habit. If they are  hoping to get merited by repeating the same shit then they are mistaken.

But what is the reason you are making a new thread here for this? We have had discussions on this topic several times before. Care to use the "search" function at times?

no shit Sherlock. It's a bitcoin forum, not reddit. Most people who know something about bitcoin left this forum. There's not much that's actually happening around here, and even if there is, it's overrun by spam.

Fits perfectly to the Level 0-value Analyzer Cheesy

You have a bigger overview of the spam and longer experience generated for years here, I guess you can come up with more categories, but those are the main ones I face every day.

As Coolcryptovator already said, they're done wholly for somewhere to easily spam in. People are unlikely going to get merit for those sorts of threads. When you've got dozens of accounts and need to make hundreds of posts a week on them then you need a big playing field to run around in. The more shit threads there are the easier it is to knock out their one/two liners. They're really not going to waste time writing anything constructive because they don't need to, but time is money in the sig spam game.

im into campaign as well but topics could be more creative or based on analyses or research.anyway, i think its not going to happen, i cant change the forum.

You can change it by not participating in them, or creating threads of actual substance. You would probably be best sticking to your local board though where it seems you are more comfortable.

As @coolcryptovator states, these kind of threads are not about merit at all, but about complying with campaign quotas. The threads are born stale from the beginning, but serve their purpose for the spammers.
In general though, it is not easy to create original content that differs from all seen before. Most of the topics have been talked about at some point or other, and what brings something new is a good brain racket, a different perspective, or some recent updates on the topic at hand.

No, this kind of post are not made for merit. They made for signature spam. Whoever post this kind of thread he doesn't expect merit. This is the result of signature campaign. We know very well that every signature campaign has minimum required. That's why people's make similar question and similar reply just for increase quantity. They never care about quality. So it will never ends.

Spammers are really on the prowl in the forum at the moment most especially the BD and AD sections, its difficult for the MODS rummaging through those sections trying to clear through the load of crap, it's a miracle they still maintain their sanity after all that...

But the merit system seems to have cut down on it a bit, and now noobs are searching for more quality in order to earn the precious merits, we can only hope they do not go right back into spamming after their cries have been heard..

Spam threads shouldn't also discourage you, try starting quality threads and we'll all be there ready to contribute to the topic
