So I have Ubuntu on a USB stick with a persistent file system. I installed Armory and encrypted a test wallet. My biggest concerns are that I can't seem to get the live OS to require login, and I can't figure out a way to do whole disk encryption and keep USB bootable. It shouldn't be an issue because my passphrases for my offline Armory wallets are complex and long enough, but it'd be nice to force somebody to have to jump through at least one more layer of encryption.

I've been using Windows To Go for offline USB Windows systems, but would like to use Ubuntu. If I use live 12.04.2 on a USB stick, plugged into a system with no network connection, will I simply be able to move the *.deb file from the website via another USB stick to the live USB and install it without any issues?

I downloaded the 12.04.3 image again and it worked perfectly. The original 12.04.3 image I had was 742mb rather than 708mb... I don't know what happened. I guess shame on me for using Ubuntu's flashy web interface to get the image rather than finding a list of all the images along with the checksums.

According to the manifest on the download

12.04.1 has 4.8.1-0ubuntu4.2
12.04.2 has 4.8.1-0ubuntu4.3
12.04.3 has 4:4.8.1-0ubuntu4.4

But the 12.04.3 ISO I used had 4.8.2... I think... guess i need to try again to confirm.

Without thinking I grabbed the 12.04.3 ISO and had dependency issues with the offline bundle (wanted libqt 4.8.1 when 4.8.2 was installed). After a bit of clicking around on Ubuntu's page I found 12.04 (ubuntu-12.04-desktop-amd64.iso from here) and still have dependency issues. It wants 4.8.1-0ubuntu4.4 and 4.8.1-0ubuntu4 is installed. Are the offline bundle packages for 12.04.1? 12.04.2?
