Is that your 999 silver MJ ?

Yes.. originally got the 2 larger ones that you see graded.. and then was also sent about 7 each of the gold keychain and silver coin.
Somehow got into a chat with the maker a few years back on  a Japanese site.
Wish I had grabbed more... all but those are gone now Sad

I think we were using skype they had a small tablet they took with them. Their phones over there too were way better than what we had over here. MSM messenger use to have the same function long before skype was popular.

The U.S. was behind in cell phone technology for years.  I used to buy my cellphones from Europe that would work on the bands here.   I once bought a Nokia phone that had Japanese symbols on the number pad.  Loved that phone and I was literally the only one I knew who had it so that was kinda cool lol.  I remember Europe (and apparently Japan/part of Asia) had cameras/video cameras several years before we got them.

I have seen several Monacoin beer bottles ( cant seem to locate the pics at the moment).

I know this maker.  His website - https://sakamotometal.tk//  He makes quite a few crypto coins.

He recently asked me what other coins I want to see made and I told him Monero and sent him some examples.  Hopefully he'll produce a few.

I have very good experience whith Sakamoto. Het is very friendly to talk with. Got some nice silver nem coins from him and shipping to EU went perfect.

I saved the Sakamoto link thanks, I bet he knows of 2CH !   Yes it seems Samsung, LG etc use to limit the tech on U.S. destination phones for two years or so. The Japanese girls would send me pictures now and then of what they had and what was coning...  I haven't chatted with them in years but I still get some art work pics on twitter from some of their friends.

Very cool story, thanks for sharing! How did you virtually join them BTW, was it like over via Skype or something like that? (Just curious).  I’ve seen several monacoin coins, but not sure if I’ve seen this exact one. Do you have photos of the others? Would love to see them.

Here’s some stuff I’ve found..

MSM messenger use to have the same function long before skype was popular.  I gave my daughter the Mona coins ( except the one pictured I kept for me)  because she liked cats Smiley  and all about Japanese stuff like me. I think I bought all those coins in the pics you provided... I might have some old pics somewhere but they would be the same type coins.

I also gave away all my satori coins in flips to nieces and nephew just a fun way to get them interested...  seems the challenge coins is the big thing for them lately though Smiley

I looked and I never took pics on the Mona coins just my Cass collection, I did find this Mona Beer pic though.. They bought some of this and a bag of Mona coffee too.

Thought this would be a good story for the weekend !

So back when I first started collecting physical crypto coins one that I was very interested in was a Silver Mona coin.  MONA was appealing as it was considered Japans coin and Japan was the only country at the time that was open arms for crypto.  I met a couple of gals on Twitter who lived in Tokyo that were also crypto enthusiast. They only spoke Japanese so we had been using google translator to chat lol. One night they told me they were going to a bar in downtown Tokyo and buy drinks with Mona did I want to come virtually.  Well hell yeh !  Mona was also having an event that weekend.  Well it was fun and I got to see part of downtown Tokyo and the inside of a Japanese bar.. They are much more civilized than an American bar I noticed haha..

I sat at the bar with them virtually while they made their transactions and we all thought it was pretty cool. As it was nearing time for them to leave its a tradition there for the customer to be served a going away cup of coffee. Everyone gets their own poor over coffee contraption and that's their final drink.  It was cooool to me and I bought one pictured below and still use it today. That was a fun night I felt like I took a trip to the other side of the world. They introduced me to a guy (2CH) a few days later that was making the coins. I bought three of the silvers and several other types he had on his japan site. Silvers were very limited. He and I also had to translate everything and surprisingly it all went smooth.

Hope ya liked the story !
