I've never seen one reaching 130MH lol, I have friends who build a 3090 GPU with 6 of them and their mining hashrate is from 110-120M max, though with GPU mining silicon lottery is always a possibility but they are rare with 3090s and if your friends 3090 is delivering that 130MH for real then it's silicon lottery, don't go out to buy same GPU because you will be disappointed

And if he is not cooling that ram while using 330 watts he will fry it.

i use 280 watts and get 113 I bet my gear lasts a lot longer than his will.
Lol that's true, 130MH on 3090 can ruin the GPU if it's overclocked, fair hashrate can prolong the life of GPUs I don't see any reason to OC them which put strains on them and shorten their lives, in fact I prefer 3070s over 3080 and 3090
Probably the author of the topic thinks that the memory of the Samsung is not heated, but this is not true.
Ethash algorithm is highly dependent on the memory frequency of the video card.
The best solution is used in the top versions of the Nvidia CMP series, which uses HBM2e memory with a 4096-bit interface.

The RTX 3090 uses Micron MT61K512M32KPA-21U memory modules with a bandwidth of 21 Gbps.
https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3090-ti-confirmed-to-feature-microns-21-gbps-gddr6x-memory

The standard graphics card gives the RTX 3090 114-120 Mh/s, if it is not the LHR version.
It's better to ask your friend for video or other evidence, but I wouldn't buy such cards. With the RTX 3090, there are a lot of overheating problems, and the hash rate drops by 30-40%.

I heard from a fellow miner that there are 3090s out there with memory from Samsung doing 131Mh at 330w manufactured by a certain AIB, I told him that's impossible as all 3090s use GDDR6X which is manufactured by Micron. The only possibility I could think of is a 3090 running the fastest GDDR6 memory from Samsung with custom bios and timings.

Could this card exist?
