I use the 50 day exponential moving average along with bollinger bands. On balance volume is another indicator I use for confirmation.

Not sure if any of you will find this helpful, but I like this trick I did on Bitcoin Charts:

Take your favorite bitcoin chart and setup with candlesticks.  Now overlay the same exchange using the "compare with" drop down menu.

You will get the closing price as a line overlaying the candlesticks.  There is also a more prominent and separate closing price legend indicated by the blue box.
