This is such a great idea.  Now I'm going to look at plaques around the world and think about the possibility of bitcoins hiding in them.

I wonder how big the fountain will go?

Everyone make a wish and toss in a bitcent!

Up to .3 BTC!
Then it looks like the lucky person was trying to bump it up with S.Dice... not so lucky there.

Whoever found it should post!

Funny thing is if you look at it on street view in Google Maps there's two guys standing in the fountain.  They be stealing my coinz!!
You don't have to get wet to claim these coins.

There's a Pacific Ocean between me and those coins so needless to say, I'm out  Wink

So, maybe the stakes aren't high enough?
If anyone else wants to flip a quarter into the fountain, go ahead...

Today I tossed some Bitcoin, about a quarter ($.25 USD), into a fountain.

Latitude: 34.177743
Longitude:   -118.317097

There is a placard by the fountain. Below the date there is a sentence with 16 words.  Take the first letter of each word (they are capitalized) and use that string of 16 characters as the passphrase to generate a Bitcoin address at http://brainwallet.org

Grab the coin and have a nice day!

UPDATE 02.22.13: The fountain now holds .109 over .3 BTC !!!!

****
UPDATE 02.23.13 PM: It looks like someone figured it out.... and decided to have a run at Satoshi Dice with it.  (I don't think it ended up well, but see for yourself: https://blockchain.info/address/18eDvMe7cG643TwU8GqNrnAW3GLsJEQZBu )

Until next time...
