While working on a project related to COVID-19 fake news, I've encountered an interesting article about a myth regarding cryptos, Bill Gates and the pandemic. So it goes like this: Microsoft received a patent for microchips that would monitor human body activity and mine cryptocurrency this way. It's also related to anti-vaccination stuff, but that's not the point I'd like to discuss. The point is the reality of “Cryptocurrency system using body activity data” patent that would allow people to mine cryptos using their bodily activity data collected by some wearable gear. You can read about it here. What do you think about such an invention? Would you be interested? Will it ever work? Do the risks (very private data being vulnerable) outweigh the benefits?
I have heard also about this conspiracy that Bill Gates is going to overtake the world thanks to microchips. Maybe, cryptocurrencies could help in this case because they can provide us real and verifiable data that the microchips will collect about us. But, I can´t imagine how it can work. It would use supply chains like VeChain and we will become something like goods?
Yeah, I don't believe in conspiracy theories, so I don't know what to answer to this. What's interesting about this particular case is that, conspiracy aside, the patent itself is morally questionable and quite disturbing. Even if a person consents to earning money by providing data about physical activity, it still feels wrong because it's something very private becoming available for money. I don't know the details, but if the US was pushing Facebook around because their Libra raised privacy concerns, I think that this patent is for something way more serious and potentially harmful, even if not on purpose (I don't believe that Gates is an enemy of humanity or something).

Don't believe all you hear. It's the simpliest way.

I do not think people will allow this even if they are working on it or this theory is real, i mean no one will want to get implanted a foreign chip even if they are paid some money to do that because not only one will lose its privacy but he will be continuously tracked and he will not remain a free human also with the insertion of chip there could be allergic or immune responses to many people that will not make this thing viable anymore.

Are you sure ? Even a free Apple implant with a lot of functionalities  ?
I'm not sure it's supposed to be free, actually. Because see, a person will be able to earn money for oneself with a device, so the device itself is likely to cost money as well. But not necessarily. For now, it's just an idea, it might not ever come even close to becoming reality.

There are a lot of things "free": Facebook, Instagram, Twitter...you know the adage : "when it's free you are the product".
(I was not talking about the Microsoft patent, i just talk about possible future)

i know what this is: the Matrix beginning ! Cry

Matrix is classic, but I was thinking more about "Black Mirror". Not any particular episode (although there was with people physically working out to earn money this way), but the general spirit of technologies invading our privacy and human life.

The real patent doesn't mention microchips, it's about the stuff that you can, say, wear on your hand like a smartwatch. And the problem is that if this brings one direct money straightforwardly, many people with low income or no job might actually be more interested in this than in how this data can be used by big corporations.
