some people are great to see the potential of an investment and take the risk and do the huge step and give it time and patience and the last things after that is huge amount of profit. so invest in good project -> patience -> don't sell -> buy -> Sell -> Profit ->buy more -> Sell -> Huge profit = Time effort.

I was there the whole time telling it to myself, Ethereum is just a media hype, they are just another ripple trying to rip off its investors, few years later seems like I was wrong about both ripple and Ethereum. All I hold is regret.   Sad

@samovarul. Does that mean Ethereum is really an ICO and that the SEC can go after Vitalik and imprison him for selling illegal and unlicensed securities?

There was some news circulating maybe 2 weeks ago that said that the SEC has sent scores of subpoenas to issuers and advisors tied to the cryptospace.

Be extra careful in choosing your investments.

Wow...to invest 500btc on an upcoming project in which its success is not guaranteed is courage and bravery.
He deserves the success
Yes), but also this is to high level of risks. Or normal - if you have 2000 BTC)

Analyzing the topic and comments, incredibly the person who bought a high amount of the supply Ethereum somehow had information or an accurate calculation about the Ethereum's success and to possess this amount is surreal. This proves that we are on the right track and that it is not impossible become Whale one day.

That means that somebody owns 2% of all ethereum. Now that's what I call a super-whale, he could probably crash ETH if he dumped it all at once, but I doubt he would do that since obviously, like all humans, he is trying to maximize his return on investment. Maybe it was Satoshi himself.

He looks like an early adopter of bitcoin. Do you remember about rogerver? He was owned thousands bitcoin and then he was selling all of his bitcoin and move to the bitcoin cash. In fact the early adopters get so many portion to buy bitcoin. remembe roger ver is not the only one.

I think you could crash the market with much less than that, let's be serious Smiley

Plus that this was the largest account at presale, we could have higher values than that (atm I can see 5 accounts with 1.5 mil each: https://etherscan.io/accounts).

That was quite amazing. Imagine if someone had known that the ETH of then, will be so big now. He would have bought a very large amount and hold for a long time. That is what investment is, but some cannot just risk doing such. Some at that time may have thought that Ethereum was a scam and by now the person would have realised the genuineness.

I don't think someone with the ideals of satoshi would turn to ico's.

I was looking for some info on eth price at launch and price evolution and I stumbled upon this small gem telling the story of ETH presale (seems ages ago if you are new to crypto - new meaning <6-12months).

Some funny/amazing info regarding ETH presale:

Quote
we have to date received over 25000 BTC from selling over 50 million ETH

Quote
A total of 6670 transactions have been made, with values ranging from the minimum 0.01 BTC to a high of 500 BTC

Quote
all purchases were for 2000 ETH / BTC
(btc price ranged in that period between 600 and 800usd)

Quote
The largest single purchase was 500 BTC (1 million ether), followed by one at 466 BTC (933,580 ETH) and 330 BTC (660,360 ETH)
somebody bought 1 000 000 eth !!! Smiley

Now you've seen the numbers, you do the math...  Grin
