This is very true. You can read all the books and watch videos, but when it comes to actual trading, the situation is very different. In some way, all those tips, knowledge will help you in strategizing how to optimize your potential profits. But the more experienced you are in this market, the better. As you have seen a lot of types of coins, you will know how to pinpoint promising projects or potential scams. It is not an overnight task but the longer you are here, the more tips and tricks you will learn.

Like I said, nothing prepares for you the real thing. Emotions take over when you actually see your money going down, when margin calls start happening, stop losses triggering all over the place. And platforms show you RED and that even just tells your mind to enter into panic mode.

And pinpointing potential scams? No:) All of them are potential scams:)

Exactly! emotions kills you when everything start to fall a part and your great expectations turns against you,
most of the time it triggers panic inside you if you keep looking with your portfolios.
Even you have all the preparations, experiencing the live events change it up, not unless you also have extended
patience that controls everything.

And regards to pinpointing, it's also true that impressions leads you to call out scams even it's just a regular cycles / correction that happening along the way.
This is why its always important on not to expect on everything because even though it turns out that it would be already a profit but since this market could turn upside down unexpectedly then those kind of hopes and expectations would surely vanish and would be replaced by anxiety and anger when you had missed out the opportunity on making money and this is why you should always come prepared on what circumstances might the market could give you. There are several books that might be helpful but nothing beats out when you do really have the actual experience and skills and those theories are just good as text.

Sincerely, I doubt if such a book exist or will ever exist, and this is because the crypto market is highly dynamic, a book written today can not possibly still be relevant for  the market in a year or even less, alot of books has been written on Forex trading and alot of people read it but still make losses when they trade.
Good point. with high volatility there's no book that will give accurate guidelines when you enter this venue of investment, you have to continue working

with your knowledge if you wanted to really acquire more skills and give yourself good edge when participating in any trading assets inside this crypto market.

Quote
A book can possibly teach you how to analyze the market, do fundamental and technical analysis of the market to determine for yourself whether the market is going to buy or sell in the next couple of hours or days or even months, but according to the Op's question, no book can specifically tell you when to buy or sell in the market as all market are not the same, and different buy and sell strategies apply to this different markets.

It won't give you that direct calls, or any proven data that will lead you to keep getting winning trades, keep in mind that it's a never ending changes that you'll going to encounter so the skills you need should have a flexible system to continue surviving from this field.

For me, it's not about the market cycles. If I don't see them building, and just spending on marketing and market moves, then it's a scam. In fact, if they can't raise money and don't develop, also a scam. A real project develops regardless of funding. Most great projects have part time devs and then only after a big product can they extend and hire full time staff.

Once a man, twice a child!
Hi,
I am not willing to trade on a daily basis, but I know for example about the 2017 crash.
Is there a reputable book, written by a reputable author, on how to know when to sell? It's like if a crypto goes 50x in one year there is a chance at some point that there will be a crash. I need to know APPROXIMATELY when I should sell.

Thank you!
Certainly, none! There's no book that points anyone in that direction to know exactly when to sell. However, some do tell of certain signs to watch out for before a collapse. Some of these signs are also based on instinct. Every discerning adult has that instinct. Ruefully, not many pay attention to it though. For instance, I'm bullish on Bitcoin in 2021 until the last quarters of the year before I can begin to get skeptical. My reason is simply based on the fact that this is a post Bitcoin halving year. Every post halving year for Bitcoin has produced a tremendous rally. So, I don't expect anything different this year. It's the same way there will be that bearish year to follow too. So, I'm guessing the second quarters of 2022 will become red for the market. This is history, and history has a way of repeating itself.

After the book does not always understand the exact signals of the market besides reading books you have to analyze the market using your knowledge and skills it is easy to understand the updated information of the market and the signals of the trading signals by doing the market analysis yourself. Many times after the book these are not understood in addition to acquiring basic ideas from books you need to learn the techniques of the market by using your own intellect.
Most of them are obsolete already but it gives some learning as some of the old trading techniques still exist. But, we can't just rely on reading those books if we need to catch the new update and gambling upgrade as we are mostly engaged in online gambling the more we need to enhance our knowledge and the only it helps is to engage more on actual trading.

But if we are talking books to read that helps us to predict the market when it crashes, that absolutely has nothing to find. It gonna be our own analysis.

A lots of market movement which is very hard to predict the right directions, I agree that books and videos can offer basis but it's not a sure deal that it will point you to right path in every trade that you'll going to take,

There are influence coming from different sides of this market, whales are still have a good hands controlling, though there are now good numbers of end users and investors which really a good news for this growing market.

Keep working with your knowledge and skills, enhance and adjust from time to time while you are still working inside this industry.

But that was kind of my whole point. Read the books and watch the videos. Gives you the basic skills and fundamentals. To use platforms, to use stop loss. Capital management and protection. Even maybe software that helps charting etc.

But nothing and absolutely nothing gives you a good preparation for how ACTUAL TRADING looks and works on crypto. That is something every guy's got to experience for himself.

practice without theory as if we do not know what to do. indeed theory can be the basis for practicing real trading. and with this practice we become aware of the market's reaction when we use tips from a book. and over time of course we will understand how to treat the market in certain conditions

There are tons of books that we can use but it will all depend on the knowledge that we have sometimes what we learn from the books is different on what the economic situation is. It will all tends to depend on our experiences. Taking profit is good and buy backing at lower price can work also. I have learn to take advantage of profits using it into other business or investment than stocking it for long in holding. I will just buy back whenever possible.

Books teach you theory. And they'll teach you charting methods and terminology, and what to watch out for.

But no book on crypto is good enough I think when the market is so new (ten years?). There can't be any experts and everything in crypto changes SO much and SO fast. No one is good enough to keep updated in the world of crypto.

No matter what book we read the answer we are going to get is similar to what we know, just sell them when you are in profits and don't be too greedy and wait for the peak to reach. It actually the way though because no one can find when it is going to crash, some people say just after a big jump on the price just go and sell it but on many occasions after a big jump there will be a small correction and then the price will jump in no time.

there is nothing wrong with us learning with books. but trading experience is needed to increase flight hours. one day of course we can use the theory in the book in real trading, and we will understand better the comparison between theory and reality
Understanding the theory about trading is fundamental things need to learn before trading. But having those is not enough, yes, it needs experience as this was a tool for a trader to succeed.
Nevertheless, reading books is part of the learning process, most traders before are doing that but seem to have a huge change this time as we are in the internet era. More traders are already relying on online tutorials and less reading books( or not at all). In fact, I can deny myself that I don't read books.

I can say that the specific time to sell is unknown and that the market moves in a way you weren't expecting, the most important thing about the crypto market is taking out your profit when the need arises.
Thats true, I think we are the one who can tell on when is the perfect time for us to sell. Know what is your goal and what is the set price you're trying to achieve, if you have plan to follow it would be much easy because you dont need to worry for minor correction or the current situation of the market.

However even we are aiming for a high price before selling, its a must to take profit and enjoy some of our earnings. Being greedy is one of the problem why some of us missed the chance to sell because we thought the price will consistently increase.

Nevertheless imo there's no need for books to know when to sell, a knowledge on how crypto works with a participation of common sense will lead us to know the answer for this basic question.

I sincerely recommend that you study Wyckoff's theory, there they explain well about each stage of the market trend, it is always fulfilled, all Richard Wyckoff's books are excellent, and Jesse Livermore's books, I have them but in the version of Spanish, if you need them, I will gladly pass them on to you.

Unlike Wyckoff, Livermore became a millionaire 5 times and 5 times went bankrupt, in the end he died because he committed suicide, but he left all his experiences in how he handled each stage of the market, how he won and when he sold.

Man this post showed to be of great value but too late for me... I didn't sell. It just went unnoticed and I haven't been following this thread 2 or 3 weeks after my original post... But still, I see that Glen Goodman has warned his followers on twitter but missed that... I follow Benjamin Cowen on Youtube but he didn't say anything about that either.

I agree there is no 100% certainty about timing the market, but still, a person with large knowledge, good instincts can still do things right without being accurate.

I´m very happy that it has served you, but do not worry, the market always gives new opportunities, also the important thing is to be patient, sometimes it is good to be out of the market for some time until you are clear about what to do.

Jesse Livermore also disconnected from the world and went on vacations when he did not have market clarity, he did not see news before doing his analysis because in a way he interfered in his analysis. His books are very good, and although for many Livermore was not a great example, his teachings are of the master level as is Richard Wyckoff.

I have come across so many books but I haven't seen the one that told about when to sell, all described the meaning of trading and explanation of trading tools, mathematical calculations about profits and loss, and other ones to mention. From my past experience, I can say that the specific time to sell is unknown and that the market moves in a way you weren't expecting, the most important thing about the crypto market is taking out your profit when the need arises.

There are many good books out there which you can read to understand technical analysis and then apply that knowledge on the charts and find out an approximate exit point.
But nobody can accurately predict the price of a crash.

Learning more about technical analysis and keeping an eye on the market and news will give you a good understanding of when to buy and sell.
You can follow the trend and get your profits and cash out on trend reversal as well.

There's a bunch of book mate where you can read such stuff and to obtain some information as well.. But there's a second option and its through YouTube.. Because there's are some professional about that wherein they make back testing to some tools in the chart to see if its accurate such where to sell and buy in a right time.. Its very informative than reading some books in my opinion because you can see how to apply it in the chart and whats the important thing to remember..
Books will somewhat be obsolete and As the market changed, the more we need not rely on them but also to become more updated and seeing online tuts is a big help for us. I don't even have read books in regards to trading but I read some useful information online.
What I was doing and relying on is to do in the actual scenario which is the best teacher when it comes to decision making. Because the more we expose and real trading, the more it gives us insights and things to consider when buying and selling. Maybe this could work for OP.

when to sell bitcoin? when the Bitcoin price is above $60k do you not sell it? too bad if you still hold Bitcoin,
even though it has reached over $60k more and you are still holding it, don't make the same mistake,
remember in 2018 many holders did cut losses when prices fell sharply, would you cut losses like before?
When the price of Bitcoin reached $60K majority of the technical indicators like RSI, stochastic oscillators etc had signalled selling period these indicators are enough to guide a hodler or trader that the market is overbought, just take your profit and move on, there is no book that will give an accurate view of time to sell an overbought asset as a hodler or trader be discipline and avoid greediness while in profit.

Given that a bull market will end at some point and a correction must happen, just have a look at the chart and see, that a correction might happen soon (it's just an indication not a guarantee – if it'll be for sure, I'd go short with 100% of my trading capital now).

Currently the bull run loses strength by a lot.  RSI shows a bearish divergence starting January – each high has less strength in RSI which is typically a good sign of a near correction.  Also the OBV has a bearish divergence starting January – each high has less volume i. e. buyers losing strength.

The problem is: nobody knows how this correction will play out.  Will it be a crash like the 2017/2018?  Or will it just correct to 25.000 USD and then return it's bull run?  Will it be worse then 2017/2018?  It could also just turn into a sideways movement for some months and then return to new highs.  Nobody knows, only time can tell!  There is no certainty in trading … you have to take this into consideration.

I believe that it is very difficult to guess 100% when to sell cryptocurrency. However, there are factors and history that can help us with this. But first, you need to set the right goals for yourself and your cryptocurrency. Without a clear goal, you will not be able to accomplish your plans and probably will not be able to get the desired result. Personally, I focus primarily on the history of the development of crypto and from this I understand that 2021 will be the year of cryptocurrency growth and most likely by the end of the year we will see a new peak in prices in this cycle. After that there will be a drop in prices. This has already happened several times and why should everything change now ?! But this is a crypto market and everything can change dramatically in the wrong direction that we need. In any case, you need to constantly monitor the information and prices for crypto and know your exit point.

Invest your time in learning things from the books or from watching available videos coming from social media sites, from there you'll be able to established good knowledge from any form of investment you like to invest your money.

There's no accuracy as everything can be used as your basis but not totally can give the exact time table for any spikes.

You are into investment so probably you are aiming to earn the best practice is to keep yourself well informed in any available  channels
either books or social media sites, as long as it's related to your chosen field it will work along the way.

Hi,
I am not willing to trade on a daily basis, but I know for example about the 2017 crash.
Is there a reputable book, written by a reputable author, on how to know when to sell? It's like if a crypto goes 50x in one year there is a chance at some point that there will be a crash. I need to know APPROXIMATELY when I should sell.

Thank you!

If you wanna know the precise answer to your question, the precise and accurate answer for it is that " THERE IS NO CERTAIN BOOK CAN TEACH US OF WHEN TO SELL AND BUY THE CRYPTOCURRENCY IN ANY OF EXCHANGE PLATFORM". Meaning, you are wasting your time only for this matter dude. Probably, some can give perceptions and advise but surely it is not accurate of course.

There is nothing like a specific time for selling, if there was a thing like that then I guess nobody is losing in the market because we are all going to know when it will be crashing, let’s say when it goes 50x, but no the market wouldn’t be like that.

That is why it is good that you have your own target first and when you have reached that target you can decide to sell half of the assets and the rest you can then hold with caution and keep an eye on the market when it will go the direction you wouldn’t want. That’s the best thing you’re going to do, if  you keep waiting for when you will know what you’re looking for, then you will be waiting forever because no one has that kind of information and anyone that says they know it is sure lying.

There is no book or source telling you when exactly to sell.  Nobody knows when the climax is reached – only time and market movements can tell.  If you feel the market is ready for a correction, get out or at least close parts of your position.

I think it's clear when we should sell. The right time to sell is when prices are rising or profit taking. However, if the situation is that the stock price is going down, you need to apply a stop loss.

Stop loss is a term used by a shareholder to prevent greater losses when the price of the shares being held continues to decline.
You can set the stop loss at a small number, such as 5% or even smaller. So that when the loss reaches that number, you can sell shares. This is recommended for you as an investor

However, when is the right time to use it? Depends on the position. If your position as an active trader, immediately use stop loss. Most importantly, you know the direction of the stock's movement. Then, if your position as an investor, stop loss can be done when there is bad news related to the company or the JCI decline.

Then, to determine the stop loss, there are two ways.
The first is based on the purchase price. It's like you set a stop loss limit of 5% of the buy price. Second, based on the point of support. Stop loss limits can be set by looking at the daily stock recommendations. Usually, these recommendations are sent by securities.

If such book exist then there were no people who had been caught out on that 2017 price crash or event because people will eventually sell on that point since they are aware on the price crash
which we know that it is impossible to know the future or things that do lies ahead. Therefore, if i were you then dont stress out yourself on finding that book since it doesnt exist and if
there's one then do you really think that it would really be published nor shared publicly? No it wont. It would just be spoiled by that person instead rather than on making a book
and sharing up to everybody.People wont continue on making their own analysis if these things like can really be possibly known.
No, it's not, books are still there and it only guides us but that was different on how you deal with your emotions in live trading. More often, we miss to follow it because we are influenced by our emotions and caught us in premature selling. Because if we really have control of it for sure all traders will succeed, but it is not what we see, many were suffering losses and blame themselves. It is still hopeless if we have those books and read it but we never apply them.

Even if there will be tons of books related to trading, still, in actual scenario, it is different. Sometimes, you don't know that if a specific strategy should be executed or not. Right timing is quite hard to define in reality. You will only realize it when the situation already passed. So yes, more often, the opportunity has been missed already. Long time experience will help you decide on what to do, but still, not an assurance that you will always hit your decision just in time. You just need to follow your instincts, what you learned throughout the years, the tips and tricks, strategies, when it comes to actual scenario.
This is true! Everything you read might be simple and you do believe that you can do it with ease but when you are already on the actual situation then everything chances and those hopes and anticipation would really
vanished and this is the time you would really boggle up your mind on what to do on your current position or condition.

Timing is indeed hard plus the emotions that you do have as a human being isnt something that can be handled easily if you dont have much experience on the market.

Dont mind on finding those scriptures or books that do talk about signals before a crash. There might be some but those arent accurate but somehow
it do give us out some idea when it comes to technical aspects.

There has just been one such major sell in Cryptomarket after crypto has become popular, I don't think a lot of authors would be able to tell the reality just by viewing one big crash. Everyone would be giving their own theories even if you find a book. Only one time that theory getting true can be more like a thing of chance. I would rather suggest you to play in portions. When you see the market is going slightly down-sell some portion of your total holding. This way you might not be able to exit at the ATH but yeah you definitely will be able to exit at a very good price by laddering the price. Sell a big chunk whenever BTC breaks major support. Also, buy when it breaks a big resistance.

It is not easy to determine when have to sell before a crash. There are no specific book or source that can inform your market will be crash. Experienced people can guess when there is a huge change in the market or price rising continuously. You have to study about the market and give some time to understand the market strategies then your mind will be your brain book.

Despite the numerous statements and forecasts of the droopers, the market is green again today(BTC 59040 $; ETH 2100$). There is a lot of information on the network that almost all analytical data can correspond to reality by no more than 70%. everything else is a real failure and this applies to really very professional people, and if we talk about people like me, then it is very difficult to predict the further development of events in the cryptocurrency market. I believe that there is only one right choice left, this is to constantly monitor the cryptocurrency market and react accordingly at the right time.

You are right, day trading is difficult and cumbersome. You need to know a lot of things and follow a lot of news and channels to find out the news about the coin in which you are trading, you must know the analysis and monitor the news and the rise and fall of the coin, long-term trading may be the best option.
The breakdown you are talking about is called a correction in the language of trading, this is really very important. The market may have reached a climax and is liable to collapse at any time, so you must be careful in the near future so that you do not lose a lot of money.

You need understand all the language around, it helps to catch up from both directions,. You can avoid losing your money if you fully understand how the market works and you can also maximize all your profits as you go along the way, learning is the very important
tool while you are in this investment, the market can provide good compensation but yet also have a high risk if you don't do your DyOR
and just blindly invest everything.
Its understandable that mistakes could really be that common when we are just starting on this career but as we do progress on then we would really learn up along the way.
When it comes to resources then you can already seek out those in a snap  of a finger. You wouldnt be needing those books that you do seek on and also there is no
book or any writings neither offline or online about knowing the sell point before a crash. If these things do exist then people of this market are really making money
yet they could able to know on when is the reversal which we believe on that there's no man could ever do that.

There's no book on that as far as I know, but normally you should get at least a bit better at knowing when it's a better time to sell/buy when you gain more experience in investing or trading and are actively following the market and specially the sentiment.

Markets tend to go against what most people expect it to, just like what happened after Bitcoin hit $20k this time, most people expect that Bitcoin will hit $20k or somewhere around there and maybe start correction after that, but as you know it didn't happen it just kept going up till $61k, in other words when most people are short-term bearish market goes up and if they're bullish goes down, you could also try to put yourself in the mind of market makers and ask yourself what would you do now?

Thank you!
Sorry, but there is nothing to find in a situation where the market is volatile. You can't simply predict the next surge to come nor the dump as well. You can just be a lucky person if you got the timing to sell at high, the same thing we do to buy at a cheap price.

TA's, chart analysis, books, and many other tools used in trading are just a tool, it can't be enough to give us the exact direction where the market trend will be going. All we do are just pure speculations and more often we get wrong.

There is nothing as such, cause if there is, then almost everyone would have that secret and they will be able to know when the market is heading for a fall or rise and will be able to manipulate it with the kind of information they have. So, the market is totally unpredictable.

I am very sure that most of us never even expected the increase that we are seeing at this time, because if you check what happened in 2017 the last bull run, it wasn’t like anything we are seeing now. And imagine the situation the world was in with the pandemic, a bull run was the least on everybody’s mind, but it still happened. That’s to show you that you can’t t predict the market in any way.

I can't think of any book for now, cause I haven't come across such book that tells you when to sell your coins, I do see and read alot of trading books out there, but none will tell you when is the right time to sell, individually it's up to you to know when you have reached your targeted profit then sell off your crypto, and besides the only things trading books will always tell you is that you shouldn't be too greedy and want too much profit.
This is not correct, any author worth its salt will write in their book about when to enter the markets and when to exit the markets, now that does necessarily mean it is a good strategy and that is something that you should always verify by yourself but at least they will tell you when it is the time to sell, otherwise why are you buying their book about trading if they are not sharing this knowledge?

Now I would prefer if people just bought bitcoin and became holders but if they really want to try their luck then you need to read several books and test your strategy before you apply it in the live markets.

There is no specific books in market about the crash.  But you can find many books about trading. There you can find many things about market's ups and downs. When to buy when to sell. When to hold everything will be described for sure.
There are many candle signals also by which you can analyze the market of the future.
Though Every decision will not be correct but most of them will hit the target as the market reacts samely most of the time.

I don't know if there is a book that can teach such things because from what I know, it all depends on how good you analyze bitcoin and based on that you can predict what would be the highest value it should reach and hence what is the best selling point.

It is true that at a certain point there should be saturation in the market such that the demand and supply will be stable and there won't be much price movement if at all.

I am not good at analyzing coins myself otherwise I would have invested in a lot of potential coins so I won't make any predictions about the best price to sell your bitcoins at, but given the current market growth and the popularity gained by bitcoins in recent months, I think it would be a bad move to sell within 2021.

...Is there a reputable book, written by a reputable author, on how to know when to sell?..

In order to know exactly where to sell, you need not a book, but a crystal ball. Because there is no such author or trader who will know exactly when to sell or buy. And as a result, we buy expensive and sell cheap. Alternatively, you can partially fix your profit when you reach the next ATH.

I would say that there is no book preventing a crash, but there are books that tell you how to pick and why pick something which could help you.
That is exactly what he asked for, a book that can help him understand what is the best time to sell his Bitcoins before a crash might happen. The problem here is that a lot of times crash happens out of the blue and sometimes even planned by big investors which is not something any book can teach us no matter how well they are written and with how much knowledge the author had.

Peter Lynch probably wrote the best books in his time, he was one of the best investors of his time and dude basically gave everyone a way how they could make money, it is all about finances and also future of a product, he even invested into something because his daughter and friends were in love with the product, he researched and figured out that a whole segment of women age between teenager years were in love with the product for a decade or more and he realized new teenagers like it as well and that is why it is never ending profit for it, he figured that out just from his daughters and friends reactions.
Some really good knowledge I gained today, thanks for the input. I wasn't aware of Peter Lynch so thanks for sharing Smiley.

Basically, he talked about all the ways you can approach how to buy, and when you figure out how to buy, selling becomes easier.
Makes sense, once you understand how to buy and when to buy something, you will eventually make better decisions when selling it too.

Yes, that's the typical product sales which is very attractive to those people who are starting out. And maybe not only for them but for those people who share the same interest.
Who doesn't want to know a secret in trading and you'll able to gain knowledge by just reading the market when to sell and buy? of course, all of us want it but this is crypto market and it's a very unpredictable market that no one can ever have the 100% accuracy in guessing.
Even if you do talk about forex or stock market trading it wouldnt really be still giving any difference.Even those market are less volatile but doesnt mean that those things are predictable
which simply means that no market on this world neither of those two could really be predicted on whats ahead and if those things do exist then it wouldnt really be on sale nor being shared
up so easily and to those who do make out some claims on having books telling about signs or things knowing first before a dump or pump then those are bullshit type of claims.
They are just trying to sell out those books for other profit source which does simply shows that they arent really making money at all. hehehe
Yes, every market is unpredictable unless you're part of the whales club that unites altogether to make the markets move based on what you want to do.
That's what we know about the whales but still, they don't have full control on it. They can move it somehow as they wish but it won't be following their orders and desire for a long time.

Being hunting for the knowledge all the time. However, it seems all you have to do is follow your instincts. Obviously I have just started with the crypto after seeing the huge hikes in crypto market. But with my immense experience through Forex and eToro trading I do believe that you have to rely on your knowledge, research on the asset and it's behavioural changes according to the market. It can just give you that "hunch" whether to sell or not!

I can not recommend a book for you to read but if you want to know which coin can increase 50x in one year, I think you can invest in bitcoin. But if you want to know when to sell, you need to determine by yourself because we have our own target price. I can give you a clue when to sell and I think when you can see you are making a profit from the coin, you can start to sell, whether you sell at once or sell at a small amount so when the price can still increase to the higher price, you have the other amount and you can sell it at that high price. It is about how your strategy so you can know when to sell the coin.

Since you there's a chance for the market to dump at some point just like what happen in the year 2017, the number one reputable book for you to understand/know when to sell your holding is following the market price and some possible news that will impact the market but if thats too much for you to handle install a price ticker on your computer and phone which will provide an updated price of the market.
With that been said, after the bullish trend, the real dump market (literally blood bath) usually happens in the last month of the Q4.

Sadly, I can't recommend any book or ebook that can actually tell you this, because the future is unpredictable nobody can tell if after the crypto goes x50 its going to stop there cause it might still continue going up even up to x100, since no one can't predict the future 100% accurately that's why there is no such book, the crypto market is unpredictable you will need more than just an old book/ebook to know when to sell or buy.

If there's a book like that then you'll notice the skyrocket on that book's sale. But there's no such as that, it's no different from listening to an experience of a trader and sold well before a crash happens. What you have to consider is when you have profited a lot and you think that you're enough with the gains. If you're good and satisfied then that's the time you have to sell even before a crash happens or another possible pump might occur.
You got it right!

If things like this do exist then it wouldnt really be just easily be shown nor be known in public but rather those people who have known it will just definitely spoil it out and use up on their own
and make themselves rich.

This is just like some wish or dream on finding out things that could able to predict the future which we know that this only happen on that particular time but once you have faced the reality
then this isnt the scenario you would really be experiencing.

Lots of books and other analysis out there but those arent 100% precise.
They are just trying to sell out those books for other profit source which does simply shows that they arent really making money at all. hehehe

Hi,
I am not willing to trade on a daily basis, but I know for example about the 2017 crash.
Is there a reputable book, written by a reputable author, on how to know when to sell? It's like if a crypto goes 50x in one year there is a chance at some point that there will be a crash. I need to know APPROXIMATELY when I should sell.

Thank you!
There is probably no book that is as specific as what you're looking for however any trading book from a reputable author should cover one of the most important aspects of any trade which is when to sell, I will recommend to you that you read several books about the subject until you find a strategy that you can follow consistently and that makes sense to you.

Also I will recommend to you that you do not buy altcoins that you think have the potential of making a movement like that, it is true that if you invest in some unknown altcoin you could see results like that but that is very unlikely, the most likely scenario is that you're going to lose all of your capital without even realizing, it is better to invest in bitcoin, the profits are not going to be as big as that but having profits is always better than having losses.

if a book can keep you from potential losses it is a magic book...
in trading, what you have to activate is your intuition. other than that, you have to follow updates starting from news and also social media so you can get a signal where the price of the coin/token you want to sell.

To be more precise, books are merely enhancers of knowledge from a long past experience. Books cannot be used as a reference for current market analysis, but books can provide a way to deal with market situations, both present and future. The simplicity is for insight not less and nothing more. the knowledge gained from the book still has its benefits. To be more precise, books are merely enhancers of knowledge from a long past experience. If there really is a book that explains crypto trading, no one gives predictions when we should sell. And if such a book existed, I thought it would
only provide misleading info. Because it is impossible for anyone to know the exact price movements in the market. Most books on crypto trading
are related to the author's experiences as successful traders or about how to learn the technicalities of trading.

Well, you have a point there because the truth, --there is no such kind of book, and no one can predict the price movement.
Perhaps there are books that related to trading like analysis, those are technical and fundamental analysis which is forecast almost near to the result of bitcoin price. Just read the book of [Andreas Antonopoulos], he is a bitcoin advocate and entrepreneur that perhaps a wide knowledge when it comes to prediction. If you don't see any books, find a crystal magic ball that will predict the future. [kidding]

Normally it happens that when the price of Bitcoin rises and most people lose it they want to enter, and sometimes they enter when they sell, what you have to do is, wait for a new ATH to take and be aware of the volume, the volume is the which gives all the information, if you want to obtain prices and transactions in real time with the volume represented for purchases with green color and for sales in red color, follow up by tensorcharts.com, with the free version it works well, it also has a version pay, but it is if you want.

Help yourself with millionaire wallets, if they grow in percentage it is because millionaires are betting on the bullish trend. https://bitinfocharts.com/top-100-richest-bitcoin-addresses.html

I have no inkling if there is such a book. However, if you search, you can discover it. In the book, the writers have conveyed their specific impressions. Everything may not be apparent there. No other book can guarantee the future but give ideas. Besides books, it would be good to read Daily's blogs and magazines. A book can never be a cure for a crash. Work should start slowly then it will be understood when to sell or buy.

I don't know about the book. But if it is related to when to sell, that will depend on your target price to sell. For example, if you have a target price to sell at $65k, you need to hold on tight to your bitcoin and not sell bitcoin if the price not reached that price. Even if the price needs more than 3 years to reach your target price, you need to hold it still.

I think it is about your target price and how long you will hold the bitcoin because only you know when to sell, not the book, and not people suggestion.

You know, all of the people who have witnessed the 2017 pump and dump have always not known that it will go to the point we are in now, which is $50k in value. The part that we need to understand is that no one has the perfect answer to it. The behavior of humans is always changing, and it will still go to evolve. Right now, we are witnessing financial structure changes that no one has seen before, and after a while, more and more people would get into this space, and it will continue to rise.

The OP is aiming to get the best profit by selling at the top when there would be a continuous accumulation of BTC at the bottom again—making it a win-win situation for him.

I think everyone wants to have that exact moment but the only safe and less risk to do is accumulate more hoping that it would reach higher.

I am in no way looking to be safe. I am willing to be risky. I don't mind having a book with a personal opinion of the writer, provided he is a reputable writer. It is just an approximation of the thing. If I sell at 50x gains, then the price goes up by 200% then crashes 90%, I would be more than happy. If you have one of these books giving personal opinions, please tell me.

I am not invested in crypto on a daily basis or even a monthly basis. I just bought once last year and that's it. I just need some insights on when to sell, before the big crash.
I would say that there is no book preventing a crash, but there are books that tell you how to pick and why pick something which could help you.

Basically, he talked about all the ways you can approach how to buy, and when you figure out how to buy, selling becomes easier.

*A crashed did happen in 2017 to give you specifics just when Bitcoin has reached its ATH in 2017 which is around 19,600$+ on December 17 it started to fall down at that point if you wanna correct me just provide me a chart which will prove me wrong.

@OP if you are looking for a particular book about crypto trading I would advice you not to do so since books about technical analysis would be enough for this one since analyzing both charts of a stock and a cryptocurrency is all similar. Books such as Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets by John Murphy and Encyclopedia of Chart Patterns by Bulkowski are something that I personally have read and they are both noob friendly books IMO.

Ok thks this helps!

There are not many books that predict the future but you can try with this one:

The best way to know if the markets will have a big change, is to follow the whales, you don't need to read a book for this, you only have to analyze the markets and get the whales alerts from this Twitter account:

If there were such books available in the market then anyone would have not suffer loss. There no such thing as perfect because imperfections are way to creating new innovations and improvements to upgrade your knowledge and make profits out of them. You can read various books on Kindle or follow trading signals but all you will learn is with your knowledge, skills and experience.Nobody is perfect in this world and you learn with time and build your trading skills to succeed not by reading books.

so far I have never found a book that you mention its characteristics. because basically in a book it only covers theory and analysis that is permanent. whereas market growth cannot be categorized in a certain standard formula and theory. so if there is any, then the book will go through various revisions which are quite difficult. rather a book of predictions, or some sort of conspiracy book.

Of course 50x is insane, but this is my lowest threshold for me to be even thinking about selling, otherwise I have another job to think about. I'm now currently at 10x gains, and the question is if (ever) 50x comes to be true, shall I sell 10% or 50%, waiting for the 150x gains.
Time will tell you is right or wrong. You can use your time and your capital to test your method.

It's outdated book and only talking about stocks, especially they talk about Warren Buffet as we know he's not believe about Bitcoin or crypto, so it's useless.

Fundamental and Technical analysis is your friend for your problem. Find a reputable book for it since there is no specific book dedicated on predicting the market crash.

But in RT, It's impossible to determine the exact time or even a hint of it because it depends on peoples feelings. It will need a panic and fear in able to occur that scenario which no one can predict. Unless someone or a group of people organize a FUD to scare traders.

You have to change with the time and instances mate. The crypto world is full of surprises. No one ever imagined in earlier days that bitcoin would cross 50k USD. That were all the speculation but today it has achieved something impossible. With this impossibly event comes new imagination and new era for bitcoin where one might be trading it at 100k USD in couple of years. So there is no point in learning what to do when it crashes. The thing is, even if it crash then it will come up eventually. Proof? Just check the history since Big Bang of bitcoin.  Smiley

Buy/Sell crypto at BestChange
In general, you cannot determine the most appropriate point of sale because it is difficult to get a forecast with 100% accuracy, but it is (relatively) easy to determine the point of purchase.

Often the best time to buy is when we get a "crash" of 80% of Bitcoin ATH, so if the price reached $ 100,000 and was the highest price peak, and then the price fell by more than 40% to 80% or any range close to it would be Best time to buy.

in short wait till price reach ATH (current 58k) make sure that the price is lower than (40% to 80%) of that ATH.

if bitcoin break 100k 20k to 40k will be the best levels to buy more.

For @OP I think there's no book that talks about when to buy or when to say and which coin will be performed 50-150x gains in next years, because he already missed the opportunity to buy or sell coin when he write the books, as you know it take a lot time to create it.

I don't recommend it, but you're just asking about pump and dump signal that can be found on twitter, telegram or discord.

About a book, there's no book that would exactly predict the future and would tell you what to do to be safe and be profitable.
All the books you can read are just based on the personal opinion of the writer because we as a trader are living in a speculative market.

The only thing I can suggest is just buy at dip and sell at peak, this strategy works all the time.

If there was a book like that, there will be a lot of rags to riches story because of trading but there isn't a lot so I think that there is no specific book that does that. Remember this, when you are writing a book about finances, be as vague as you can because you don't want the readers to know that you don't want to share your secrets to your success. There are books on technical analysis and trading in general but it will only get you so far, have the experience of trading to up your game. The collapse of the market in 2018 is more correct. Bitcoin got its all time high in December 2017 and altcoins got their all time highs in January 2018. If you want to learn about crash, look at the dump in March 2020. It's a very classic crash.

If you set your target at 50x, you can be kill before price gets it. 50x is too greedy in my opinion. 3x or 5x is greedy enough to get profit for your investment in shit altcoins.

Volume is what you need to look. If price moves up x times but volume does not increase much. It will be crashed anytime soon.

You dont need any book or any ebooks out there. Just make out some simple search online and you will find tons of guides but those are basing off on technicals.

Just remember:
-Not all of those things written are precise
-Dont heavily rely on it
-Always take caution on applying on your own analysis
-Always set Plan B's.
-Take some time to learn up.
