I think the user's first or second post had a bug of not being counted on any post or activity count. I have thought of some possible reasons:

He maybe submitted a post having the same time stamp and same moment another user comment on the same thread.
Or maybe he had a redirection/connection error upon posting the reply.

Those are only the least possibility of why a bug can occur in such forum.

Just finished checking the profile of the person in question and it appears, he/she now has 4 activity points and posts as its stats out of the correct 5 post counts [has been more than an hour from his/her last post].
- Thread where he/she posted all of the posts [archived version]

So there do seem to be some isolated circumstances that throw the Activity counter off its path.
Indeed and it looks like it is affecting [some] Newbies of all sorts...

I'll keep the thread open for another day or two [in case someone wants to comment with valuable information regarding this bug]...

a) https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/quantumgeneration-2744380
This account has 7 posts according to the post count, but 0 Activity...

Could not say when they were deleted. Weird tho...

b) https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/jaelizza-2756879
This account has 1 posts according to the post count, but 0 Activity...

Should be just a nuke bug as he was spreading malware links

There are a few glitches here and there regarding post count/activity. I remember even reading a thread about some issues with WO posts but they would get solved with a periodic global recount, so ...

I would have thought that the Activity count would be that of 2, in accordance to the two posts made on Meta. While trying to figure it out, I stumbles upon a couple of weird additional Newbie cases:

a) https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/quantumgeneration-2744380
This account has 7 posts according to the post count, but 0 Activity, and actually no posts in the “show the last post of this person” link. If fact, the account made at least 10 posts, all being deleted at some point (see http://loyce.club/archive/members/274/2744380.html).

b) https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/jaelizza-2756879
This account has 1 posts according to the post count, but 0 Activity, and actually no posts in the “show the last post of this person” link. If fact, the account made at least 2 posts, all being deleted at some point (see http://loyce.club/archive/members/275/2756879.html). Additionally, this account is banned.

So there do seem to be some isolated circumstances that throw the Activity counter off its path.

Activity will be updated and shown after 2 weeks (14 Days cycle) if he is posting in this time !
If he not post any thing it will be 0 activity counted.
But can be others in this case with deleted posts.

Regarding this, I have opened a few topics until I finally understood how it really works. So: if you posted once in a previous period (just once), you have 1 point from that period and 13 latent activity points. The latent activity points are updated once per hour (and also visible on your profile), as long as your activity is not bigger than your post count. If it gets bigger, you'll see the update (at your profile) when the new period begins (although in the system it is still updated at 1h). For more info, please see here (including the posts).

I believe it's a bug.

It kind of is a bug, but harmless one as everything will get solved with a bit of patience... and a global server post recount Tongue

According to theymos,

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Rough summary of what this means: If you post once per day on average, then you will eventually get the maximum number of activity points that you can get. Posting more than once per day on average is useless for increasing activity. The maximum number of activity points you can get is 1 per day, but your activity score only updates every two weeks. Therefore, it will take about 100 days to get 100 activity if you post once per day on average.

Activity is updated every hour.

I believe it's a bug.

I would assume that he made 3 posts and 1 was deleted before activity was updated and somehow got to 1 activity-1 post again.
Something similar happened to me a while ago.
And yes... he'll have to wait for a general recount (not sure how often it runs, took me about 3 weeks) and then things will be normal.
Hopefully he would be using his initial account is all goes well Smiley

I think the system takes certain amounts of time to update the activity. I have seen it in some newbie accounts already several times.
It has been over 24 hours since random_australian made his last post. I don't believe it takes this long to update activity numbers.

Yes, Activity takes time to get updated. But the post count should be updated once the post is made. So I think it's a bug. It's the first time I've seen this. The user referred to by OP has two posts in Meta. But the post count is 1.

After reading "the following thread", I noticed OP/TS made two posts the other day but only has a single Activity and Post displayed as its stats. I was wondering if only a recount fixes this or something else is the issue here?
