I'm just getting into photography and getting to know such platforms like Photochain and Wemark are on the works is a very good news specially for newbie or amateur photographers that wants to have a good profits from their works. Right now it is really hard to sell stock photos form existing platforms such as Shutterstock because you would need to have a good review to sell more and with the blockchain technology coming to the stock photo market it will provide good profits to newbie and amateur photographer.

Embracing blockchain transition is a very popular move these days in many different industries, providing a new system of royalty distribution, in a much fairer manner.
Wemark’s platform supports this vision, while using the technology to connect potential buyers and photographers directly, without agencies and their fat slice .

You should have a look! Very promising project I think

Fear only from the fear itself
Idea like idea is great but you will still have to have some central entity from my understanding or some "nonprofit" that is going to control if images are truly yours and that you haven't used any form of plagiarism. Thing what's happening latley with popular social platform on blockchain - steemit is that they have a lot of people who steal other people works and post it as their own. I see the same problem here.

Although I am not sure how these 2 projects combat with this issue, but this is one of the biggest ones that I personally know of.

Why do you need a noon profit organization on top of that?? I don't get it.....

Why can't those stock photographs companies settle for a hefty 15% of the sale revenues like Wemark does?

Creating an  income from selling your photos is impossible without a significant change in the balance of power. The blockchain era is expected to provide us with new technologies that will help artists generate proper income, Photochain and Wemark are only two of many apps that are in the process of development. Developing those kind of platforms will make a desired change in the stock photo business, because it will give artists an opportunity to offer their work to potential buyers, finally getting their fair share of profit.
