but the forum is not where he can easily scam someone. He thought it is a social media like telegram where he can scam anyone he likes.
Are you sure about this! Because as far as I can see and according to what I have read on this board, people would fall for less sophisticated scams.
I'm sure most of forum members aren't aware of the existence of this board and even if they were, they don't frequent it that much.
All I can do is to thank OP for posting this topic and inviting everyone to do the same whenever they face any kinf of scam attempts.

I posted a similar thing before explaining how these scams still work. Do you remember the scam method using email saying someone is from a different country and they got some treasure and want to send it to a victim? Then ask them for a shipping fee. These scams still work for them even though it's an old scam method.

Another scam method was sending emails to a victim and claiming they got some nudes, videos, and personal things from the victim. Scammers scare the victim, saying they will publish those things online if victims don't pay them. This is an old method, but people also fall for this scam. No matter how dumb or old the method is. People still fall for it.

I saw this user thread in gambling board about the lottery game, which you will send him money to his BTC address before playing the game and attacks were run on him. There is no doubt about it the user is a scammer who is looking for a victim to for him but the forum is not where he can easily scam someone. He thought it is a social media like telegram where he can scam anyone he likes.
Scammers are always bringing new methods to scam people but the people are also getting wiser every day.

He is 10 years late for this kind of lousy scam attempt to work. I read his post on gambling board and I immediately ignored it because no one in the right mind that will send bets on a newbie self escrowed gambling game. I’m just surprised to read this thread on how he have more scam attempt here in the forum.

I think many of us here learned our lesson on scam ponzi and doubler way back when Bitcoin price is not that high. I’m sensing same vibes on his thread and it bring back memories of old Bitcoin era.
No matter dumb you think a scam attempt is, also remember that there are dump people who are ready to fall for it. That is why I dislike anything that looks like a scam. I have been a victim of several types of scam and I wouldn't want any other person to fall victim of scam that will drag them back to square one.
But obviously no one ought to fall for this scam but I wouldn't be surprised if any will fa for it.
About using AI, many scammers don't know how to construct their grammar and they wouldn't want to do so, that is why most of them end up plagerising even whitepapers.

That's desperation, good thing that it's been caught but expect that there will be series of it to come. Like they'll just wait until this thread will be on a calm mode and then they'll be back with a new account trying to fetch victims that are gullible enough to get scammed.

Hopefully that there will be no more people that will be scammed by these folks.

They think that this forum is a place where they can get people believe them by using cancer patients or any charity for someone to donate.

To the real donators, don't buy on these people. If someone who has a good heart, just go to those legitimate charities and you know how to find them through internet.

Yesterday a Newbie member Malibitc created a topic to raise funds for a cancer patient. He decided to delete the entire thread after people started saying that this was a scam. Here is the archive; https://ninjastic.space/post/62451700
This is really the most hated and stupidest act done by @Malibitc, as far as I know in this forum, he thinks it's easy to trick the members here with the actions he is doing, I think he is really immoral and a drug addict.

Previously @Malibitc, also created a similar topic in the Arabic locale section.

https://archive.ph/vd7fQ

Luckily the members there and the mod were quick to act, deleted the ridiculous topic he made, I saw the same address in use there, this really can't be allowed.

From the look of things and his two scam posts,I think that he came to the forum to scam forum members. I am happy that he is a dumb scammer and a lazy one who doesn't have the intelligent to come up with  ponzi project that will look real. He is still thinking on how to come up with another scam story to deceive people into falling for him. Newbies should be very careful in the forum because they lack the knowledge of how scammers operates and shouldn't send funds to people without checking for their reputation.
OP nice job.

Dumbest? No! Just lazy! And there are a ton fo dumb scams nobody sane would fall for them!

Does he think that we are living in the 50's and 60's right now that we can't distinguish which are scams and which are not?

Judging by the amounts of scammers which is a clue this is still lucrative and victims coming to the forum, we're in the 40's.
Btw, if you talk about being dumb, how does it sound to have a fake model girlfriend stealing for over 15 years from you close to a million euros?

Does he think that we are living in the 50's and 60's right now that we can't distinguish which are scams and which are not?
I wonder where did that scammer came from? Maybe he time travelled, but in reality he's old right now.

Dear Samreomo,

I understand that you have expressed concerns about our lottery program in the forum, accusing it of being fraudulent. I would like to assure you that our lottery program is secure and legitimate, and I would like to address your concerns in detail.

He wasn't aware that this type of scam doesn't work in our forum. However, he tried his best to prove that he was running a legit lottery program. Shame on you Malibitc for trying to scam innocent users.
Now the question is that, is there anybody that's innocent here that will fall out to this kind of trap? I doubt that there will because I believe that people here are intelligent enough to think that this is one of the dumbest, if not the dumbest way to scam here in the forum.

Assurance? Secure? Legitimate? Seems attractive for newbies, but not here in the forum. Cheesy I guess this is the dumbest way of scamming members here since 2020, but kidding aside, it's good that nobody really fell to this kind of scam attempt. I guess it's safe to say that members here are becoming more, and more intelligent, and they can distinguish which are scam, and which are not aren't they? Thanks for the catch OP. Smiley

Well, I agree with your statement that most of the members of the forum are pretty intelligent and they won't fall into such traps, but there are many newbie members who are still not that much intelligent and they can fall into such traps. The scammers mostly try to target those members who aren't aware of such scams and those scammers mainly try their best to prove that they aren't doing any kind of fraudulent activity, but are letting the participants win money in the most transparent way. If a service or an individual isn't doing anything wrong then they can show their transparency without any issue, but such scammer only know that how to use words to play with the emotions of the humans.

I'm not sure about other scammers but this particular scammer came out with the dumbest scheme to scam the members of this forum. He didn't expected that he will get caught within minutes. I think he is trying to learn the skill of scamming. and that's why he did that otherwise professional scammers would never do something like this. I'm pretty sure that other scammers might be laughing at the guy after reading this comment because the guy reduced the reputation of those scammers.  Grin

They are openly doing this on telegram and they take a chance to do this here in Bitcointalk, but we are ahead by many years we know the method and we can easily bust them, these methods are recycled methods these newbies find on other platforms and there's a possibility that they have been a victim of these schemes and they find it good or they want to get back what they lose, so they are scamming others to get even.
But one thing is for sure if you are active here in Bitcointalk especially here in the scam section, you'll be familiar with these schemes and you'll learn how to avoid them.

As long as the scammers are dumb like the case in question, the vast majority of crypto users are safe. It's a situation of "dumb and dumber"!  You have to be dumber than the scammer to be scammed, and that was almost impossible in this case.  Cheesy

Good catch though!

Probably they were successful in using the method before. We never know since he might have used a different address for each scam attempt. Even though it looks dumb to us, new people on the internet might have fallen for such a scam. We have seen scammers email random people saying they have nude videos or some private kind of stuff. That scam method was a viral topic on Reddit a few years ago. Still, people fall for that scams. I remember I checked one of the scammer's addresses, and he got some payment from the victims. That means few people still might be "dumber" than this "dumb" scammer.

He responded using AI

I guess that my nose is not so bad, heh?  Cheesy

Unfortunately this type of scammer will probably not disappear. He might change accounts so he is trying something new with an account that isn't painted red, but he will come back and make another silly attempt to scam members on the forum. He doesn't seem like a very smart individual so I would save his address and see if a new account posts it in the next few days. I'm almost positive he will make another attempt.
They won't and it's a good thing that they won't disappear anytime soon because these type of scammers are dumb af, this scammer didn't even try to change his account to do another scam. He definitely will change his scamming account but a bit too late since he used the same account to attempt a scam, definitely will make an attempt and hopefully use the same address to get caught again. I feel bad for people that's really sincere in asking for monetary aid to help someone who is ill, they almost always get clumped together with the scammers. It's a good thing that no one became a victim of this stupid mofo and I am happy that more people become aware of this type of scams and not falling victim to it, this person will never change no matter what probably because they've tasted the fruits of scamming before and they want more.

It's the midnight thoughts that scammers may have hoping that someone is kind enough to believe what they say. And because they are lazy, they do not even want to compose the story themselves, but rather rely on artificial intelligence to compose stories that are closer to the truth.
They will do anything to get a dollar.

Scammers don't ever give up no matter what, trying a new way of hitting on people is something they always dream of like it will work, I just don't get it how they feel comfortable when someone loses and they gain in an illegal way. This attempt is really the dumbest I have ever come across, like who's going to fall for that in this Forum that everyone is busy trying to get recognized in a positive way or trying to learn one or two things to expand their trading skills, nah, I don't see members of this Forum as those that would buy such weak story. Hmm, the scammer might come back in different form or probably he might even avoid this Forum forever because one has that time to look into such scam begging.

It's a relief it's empty so at present we don't have to worry if lazy scammers aren't smart.
And it will remain empty. People, especially bitcointalk members aren't that stupid. A newbie member with no reputation asking for donations is unlikely to get any support, whatever he cause is. Besides, some reputable and well established members are having troubles finding members willing to participate in their loteries (some of which are for free), so what about a newbie trying to get in this business!

I had no knowledge of that post of this user, but I've seen his Lottery post, and I was the first one to warn the members of the forum that the guy is trying to scam us. I hadn't done deep research whether he used AI for creating the post or not, but his post was totally shady in my eyes and that's why I replied in his thread.

Here is my reply from his thread:

Join the Bitcoin Lottery Program today and seize your chance to win $10,000! Good luck to all participants, and may fortune smile upon you on the first day of August 2023!

I can smell the aroma of a scam, and that's why I warn all members of the forum to be aware of such type of scams. The OP is asking to submit Bitcoin to his/her account so that he/she will select a participant who will get $10,000 for the entry. It's just an old school type of Ponzi scheme where a lottery program asks users to send money first so then they could add them as participant of the program, and later on they can run away with the money of the users. In such type of schemes, the innocent users won't get anything because the creator will run away with all of the money. There is nothing fair in such kind of program, everything is already planned, and the innocent users can lose a lot of money by participating in such programs. I'm again warning all members of the forum to not send any bitcoin to the address that OP mentioned.

I also found that the OP was trying to scam the users with that old school type of Ponzi scheme. Shame on such people who take advantage of the innocent members, I don't know why but those scammers are trying their best to find new ways to scam the members of this forum. I have seen many such scammers, and most of those are newbies.

The user also managed to reply with a message, and I think he used AI once again for the reply.

Here is the part of that reply:

Dear Samreomo,

He definitely came to the wrong place, there isn’t a single person here dumb enough to fall for this stupid scam.
You'd think so, right?  It's not like it's 2012 anymore, when an idiot like this might have gotten someone to send him some bitcoin, though I wasn't here then.

This guy is basically a typical scammer, the likes of which this forum has seen probably hundreds of times.  What makes this case kinda-sorta scary to me is that AI was apparently used to write that text in English, which I assume the scammer wouldn't have been able to do on his own.  I read that stuff that Copylinks flagged as written with AI at 94.8% confidence, and it's astounding to me how close it reads to basic public-relations-speak, if you know what I mean, e.g., a form letter from a corporation in which a lot of fluff is there but nothing of substance.

If a non-English speaker can get a program to generate something like that, this forum is fucked unless there are some volunteers who put suspicious posts through an AI-checking tool like Copylinks--but that'd take so much time and manpower that it's putting me into a very foul mood just contemplating it.  Props to OP here for bringing this scammer to the community's attention, but I think we've got a much bigger threat on our hands than him.

Now a days I saw some scam tricks from many users which is suspicious. Few days ago someone posted about donation where he said that he had been scammed worth 2000$ and now he was asking for donations with forum members where he didn't mention how he lost it or which website scammed him. I think this is also a trick to scam funds. So day by day new ways of scamming will appear and we all have to prevent them strongly. This was his speech:

Hello friends i invest my last money 2000$ in crypto but get scam by some website cant withdraw money it say error.
Can someone help me to recovery or with donation i dont have more money i need money back.

it's funny how lazy he is at making his scams and it's funnier that he posted an obvious scam attempt on a forum that deals with scams almost daily. the dude can't even make his own original content, he has to use an AI to make it for him(I run the content on the first thread he posted and the result shows that it has AI content).

nice catch by the way.

He probably done this same scam on other crypto platforms and wanted to try his luck here. What a dumb scammer, he knows nothing about the forum trust system or anything about the forum in general. This is really the dumbest method of scam I have seen so far, and it is not certain that someone will believe this scammer who claimed to be collecting donations for cancer and when he failed to convince people he came up with an idea that was stupider than the previous ones and then he created the topic of the Bitcoin Lottery Program, and he did not bother to write posts by himself, but rather used artificial intelligence instead of relying on his own intelligence, which I doubt he does not possess an iota of it, and he did not stop either, but published his Bitcoin Lottery scam topic on the Arabic board of the forum and used machine translation as well.

I've already reported his topic, and I'll tag him in red.

Today he came up with a new idea to scam again and created a Bitcoin lottery program - Win $10,000 thread. To participate in his contest, You have to send him BTC to the address where he used to raise funds for cancer patient https://ninjastic.space/addresses?address=19mfZiDGBho5Ao6SGsCK2EUkiRifMEjpAU

To enter the Bitcoin lottery program, follow these simple steps:

1. Sending Bitcoin:
   - Transfer any amount of Bitcoin to the designated wallet address: 19mfZiDGBho5Ao6SGsCK2EUkiRifMEjpAU.
   - Make sure to keep a record of your transaction number.

This is not the ending. He responded using AI after SamReomo said this looks a scam;

or an AI can do that for you nowadays

Oh dear, there you go.

First of all, He is a scammer, and he is an AI poster as well  Wink
