Any news on what's next for Hearn? A job with the banks??

Word in the street says he will get to work at PayPal. Don't know if it's true.

it would be hilarious to see him working hard to make paypal acquire bitcoin as a payment

In his letter Hearn says.

Quote
Jeff Garzik and Gavin Andresen, the two of five Bitcoin Core committers

Are there really only 5 Bitcoin core committers? What is a bitcoin "core committer"?
How did these people become part of the 5?

it doesnt mean bitcoin-core. the program.
it means 5 main people who add the most to the bitcoin ecosystem.

EG hearns bitcoinJ was used alot. and to be able to understand bitcoins initial code(in c++) to then replicate it in java is no simple task.

alot of people are hooked on the idea that "if its not bitcoin-core.exe, its simply not bitcoin".. which is just playing into blockstreams agenda of taking over the bitcoin brand.

there are many implementations that are not forks, that work with bitcoins current rules, and bitcoins current chain/genesis without issue... but these other implementations only vary in either programming language type(c++,VB,C#,java), GUI visuals or other features, so bitcoin core is not the only program that fully works. and bitcoin-core should not be the only choice, ever

Mike Hearn first sells his coins, his friends on R3 sells his coins too, and then he spreads the biggest fud i have ever seen on big newspaper to crush the price! insane, just crazy! what the fuck man, i still cant believe he did this!!!
He will never be back, he can't be back after this, his Bitcoin career is over.

Good read, much better than reading Mike's whiny manipulations of the truth about how nobody wanted to go along with his insane plot to implement a terrible block limit growth idea and bonus "features." When you explicitly called him butthurt I couldn't agree more.

As I predicted yesterday morning:

Mike's capitulation will be the decisive wake up call that the community needed to save the Bitcoin project.
It was needed to finally fork the totalitarian tyrants out of the project.
Mike will make history of being the savior of Bitcoin.

In the evening we already saw a majority of the miners hashing power behing the intended fork with Bitcoin Classic.

Good thoughts.
I agree that off-chain txs can solve much of the issue, too. Increase the block size would render a chain too big for an ordinary computer, making bitcoin centralized over top IT corps.
Bitcoin has, however, been centralized already a couple of times, being the first of it MtGox, a regular centralized VC, such as e-gold, would be long dead by now. So it proved to be resilient enough to survive past eventual centralizations and centralization attempts.

Lol, was he ever a member of bitcointalk?

The rest of it was TL;DR.  I have a very short attention span thanks to years of eating paint chips.

This is why we can't have nice things Sad
