2. What exactly do you look for in a mobo for mining?
I would look for a quicker ROI, so spending less is your goal (while still having the slots you need).

3. How can you determine how much power your GPU will consume during hashing
Its the same as it would for gaming. Look at the GPU specs to see the power requirements on the rails, add some for your processor (power requirement from their website), plus whatever HDD/SSD you use. Add it all up, with some headroom then pick a PSU that can deliver.

1. Currently using http://www.asrock.com/mb/NVIDIA/M3N78D%20FX/ and I'm pretty happy with it.
2. Just how many PCIe x16 and x1 slots.
3. I don't know if 1000W are sufficent. Radeon R9 290X gets around 1000KHash/sec @ 360W = 2.71KHash/Watt
But ofc you can undervolt them. Just look up the maximum wattage of a GPU

1. Is this a good mobo for a 3x GPU mining rig? http://www.asrock.com/mb/NVIDIA/M3N78D%20FX/ or https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M4A77T/#specifications
2. What exactly do you look for in a mobo for mining?
3. How can you determine how much power your GPU will consume during hashing (say at intensity 18) so that you can buy the correct PSU? Planning on getting 3x r9 290 and according to this forum a 1000w psu (gold) will be enough.
