Russia has declared that for the invasion to end Ukraine must stop fighting, never join NATO, acknowledge that Crimea is a Russian territory and recognize the independence of Donetsk and Lugansk. Ukraine has rejected these conditions. In fact, they are willing to defend their land at all cost, meaning more deaths.
When a Prince called Mstislav of Tmutarakan in Kievian Rus (Russia) attacked the Kasogi tribe of the northern Caucasus in 1022. Prince Rededia of the Kassogians recommended they fight a duel to avoid bloodshed. Prince Mstislav won Prince Rededia and Kassogians began to pay tribute and serve the former.
