I think the most important thing for investors interested in an ico to invest is transparency, a clear team profile, realistic ideas and allocations

I believe that an ICO should have strong leadership like Waves or Ethereum. I also look for if the ICO is solving a problem? Does it have any competition?  Lastly, how is the ICO being handled? Does it have an escrow? How many coins are they offering? Does the white paper make sense? Those are the basic things that I look forward in a good ICO.

The team (including the advisors and investors), the potential community and what the crypto collective mind thinks of it, the marketcap, and the distribution.

By the way, there were several payment card ICO's (Monaco, TenX and some others), their purpose is practically the same. Monaco had an aggressive marketing campaign, TenX had Vitalik Buterin as an advisor.
Now compare their raised sums during the crowdsale and their positions on coinmarketcap.

I think that the most important question is, how big is the problem that you are trying to solve.
If you have a great solution for very few people, that's not as valuable from a commercial perspective as a solution for many people.

What does it take to get investors in your ICO?

For start you can tell us something about your project. If project is good, people will recognize it and you will run successful ICO.
Also you need good promotion, signature campaign with good signatures and avatar and you have to be professional about everything.

I think in case you are not familiar with an ICO, better is to outsource its production to concentrate on the actual creation of what will be offered. For exemple, Shopeo offers a free ICO management service in case you are interested. Ask them if they can help you, it costs nothing and the try can be worth it.

Majority of the people here are attracted to beautiful pictures and realistic purposes. If you have a beautiful page design, simple yet interesting idea, and you promote the project properly - ICO may be successful. Look at some previous ICO's, they collect huge sums but they have no product. Everyone is looking for a quick buck, you have to make everyone think that they will multiply their investment easily.
