If our country prohibits the use of Bitcoin, it is difficult to promote Bitcoin.

Sorry to hear, it is a problem if you have a legal restrictions on bitcoin in your country. As a popular and decentralized project bitcoin will find a way to get people in your country anyway, even if slower. But you should take care of yourself and not to break the law; bitcoin will stand if it's community is prosperous, and each bitcoiner is important.

Somehow I see that adoption and something to do with introducing bitcoin to others is being done by some low ranking users, not other experienced users who have known bitcoin for years. I mean it was never really a problem but I was just thinking of something else so stuff like this counts as something of interest to some low rank users.

There has been many of legal adoption in both physical and online businesses of bitcoin as a means of payment, but I don't see them announcing it on forum regardless of the purpose. Businesses have to thrive regardless of how many payment systems are supported, and bitcoin may soon become the new trend among other currencies to adopt.

So my wife and i has a big wine 🍇 store and this includes other drinks as well, we sell in packs, and loads of people always come around to buy from us, I am thinking if this is a good opportunity to start promoting Bitcoin? I mean if some can pay Bitcoin for goods and services it will help even if they are few.

I believe this can make people start wondering what Bitcoin is and I will be waiting for questions like

What is bitcoin?

What benefits come from using it as payment?

Then I will give my answer and see if any people become more interested in it, some have heard about it but they have a wrong perspective of what Bitcoin is leading to believe it's a scam.  What do you think?

Wine store and drinks will go well if you include like a Bar or a mini club, not where people would come for that kind of extra affari activity but a relaxation center where people can hang out, gist, and cool off, this will increase the number of bitcoiners if they know you accept bitcoin, it is not helping you alone but it will connect more people who like bitcoin as hobbies and just for the love of it.

The main advantage of Bitcoin is that it is more favorable for a seller to accept bitcoin when the price is low, especially now that we are still in capitulation, you will have your bitcoin at the equivalent price and sell when we have increased in price, you won't worry much if you accept more of them now, so that even if you accept more in the future at high price, these ones will average your value for you at the end of the day.

There are lots of ways we can easily promote Bitcoin.
For example, we accept Bitcoin as a legal means of exchange or payment if we have a business. It could also be by providing social assistance to people in need so that many people can get to know and be interested in Bitcoin.
Conducting a seminar or introduction to Bitcoin in our surroundings can also introduce Bitcoin to those who don't know anything about Bitcoin or crypto.
However, all these actions are still disrupted in the country we live in, whether to legalize Bitcoin users. If our country prohibits the use of Bitcoin, it is difficult to promote Bitcoin.

This is a good idea, there is a big advantage when displaying " we accept bitcoin payment here," in your store or business even if very little people are using Bitcoin as a means of making payment.

You are creating awareness even when there is no interest, those who will have interest will come anyway and they will start asking what Bitcoin is all about and how can they use it.

That seems like a great idea. People who buy wine tend to have more money to spend on investments, and tend to be more educated which means they are more open to learning about something like bitcoin and using it.

People buying wine comes from high society or are comparatively wealthier than other people. So more than 50% of the people might already using bitcoins. It would be great to educate the rest people and make them invest in Bitcoins. Also tell them what benefits they will get from adapting Bitcoins. OP can really get the benefits from Bitcoin payments, as he can use it to save and later on sell at high price. Good luck OP with your business.
Once wine was wealthier people's drink. Now wine can be seen in everyone's home. In particular Asian people too getting adopted to such life style. It was westerners who use much of wine. The measures taken by the couple is really good and it creates way for more people to know about bitcoin. If people start using it as payment automatically what is being received as gets the couple good return depending on the market growth.

Yes. Absolutely. We need anything that can promote bitcoin adoption. And any effort will help no matter how little. So, by all means go ahead and do it. You should have a t-shirt with the inscription - "We accept bitcoin here. So, Ask me anything about bitcoin". Additionally, I hope your wife knows as much too about bitcoin so she will be able to educate customers who come in to buy wine in your absence.

Start with "we accept Bitcoin" sticker on your front door, and add some Bitcoin logos in the shop. See how people react. Check whether they are really interested in Bitcoin, ask what is it, how to pay with and etc. Start with simple research. Dont go all-in into spending things on buying terminal, software and etc. Dont rush. Its wine you want to sell on first place, not to introduce Bitcoin to others.
Totally agree with you, making all those things available for customers that is coming to your shop to buy goods will surely see all those Bitcoin Logo, stickers and banners in front of your shop or display them on social media so that it will easily spread around the country that you are accepting Bitcoin in your business. And it will bring more development into your business that will make others business men to start accepting Bitcoin as a payment in their business too to make it popular in that environment.

That would be a fantastic idea, if my country legalizes bitcoin in the near future I will do the same with my small business, so you will need to make sure that your country allows using bitcoins in your country in order to do this. Accepting bitcoin in business is not only a simple but effective way to promote bitcoin, but your business will have more customers, customers who are investors in bitcoin. I had this idea for a long time but bitcoin is not yet accepted in my country so I can't do it yet.

This is a good idea you know. If you are all up for it then it would be a good move by you to promoting bitcoin in your own way. Taking such bold steps would want people to know more about it and I hope bitcoin is legal in your country where you stay and are conducting this business. Going by this, I think you should make it known in your store by making a notice of you accepting bitcoin so you do not have to ask them or talking to them to accept payment via bitcoin. When they see it, those who are into the system would definitely want to identify with you so they could make payment with bitcoin for their goods and those who are curious about the post would definitely ask you some questions to know about your notification. These would attract more customers for you and also make others around your company to follow your steps by accepting bitcoin too. I see the adoption rate in your local speedup  very fast.

digital currency called bitcoin aspires to do away with the need for central authorities like banks or governments. Bitcoin, on the other hand, makes use of blockchain technology to enable user-to-user transactions on a decentralized network.

You can just put the sign of "Bitcoin accepted here" and whoever asks you a question about it then you should give them the answer that they want.

Putting the qr code of the bitcoin address that you'll use for accepting payments there made by your customer is the start of it.

So, having those things visible in your store will already make them curious what are those.

If you have many customers at your store then I guess it's a good try to accept and promote Bitcoin.

Even if not many it adds another spot of a bitcoin friendly business on the world map. So it help adoption and while it is still early stages make a store more attractive to cryptans so can be an additional reason to buy in here not somewhere else.

While I'm posting my opinion, something came out of my mind regarding this one. What if you try and make a quick survey with regards to Bitcoin first to know which of your customers have knowledge about Bitcoin? I mean if they will buy, give a survey paper for them that will answer some simple questions that is related to Bitcoin.
...

As for me, I don't like when I'm asked about something not concerning my purchase. Some can suppose it obsessive if you try to promote some additional things in the store. IMO it is better just to provide an opportunity not urging to use it if a customer doesn't ask.

I'm not a businessman, but promote your products more than Bitcoin. With the survey that I said, you will know which of your customers know Bitcoin and which are not. From there, you might ask some question them with regards to Bitcoin and that's another way of promoting it. If you want, maybe just try and ask each and every customer you have if they know something about Bitcoin Cheesy.

Give it a try to accept Bitcoin. You aren't paying anything by making a setup of it. Maybe there are some of your customers who are willing to pay Bitcoin to you. Smiley

Its a cool idea, you have a good opportunity to promote Bitcoin and contribute your part in its adoption, we all clamor and wish for bitcoin to become a mainstream means through which we can pay for goods and services, but the truth remains that it is our collective efforts that will make that happen.
I believe that the government will not just wake up one morning and decide to implement bitcoin payment into the system, the zeal amongst the citizens of the country in willingness to accept Bitcoin payment for their goods and services is what will join in motivating and encouraging the government of that country to decide to accept it.

So indeed, you have a good opportunity in your hands, use it to add your own contribution to the adoption of bitcoin payment.

Actually it's a great idea to promote bitcoin to people out there that don't know much about it to them, been a bitcoin investor yourself,to promote bitcoin to others you need to make those people you about to let known to the first time, you need to make the know the advantage and disadvantage of it.
You can also add it up to your business and make your costumers learn how to use it too,it also a form of help growing the platform too, making someone know about bitcoin is like you have open there eyes to world,so you let them know about everything in bitcoin investment and also the profit aspect.
Apart from telling them the advantages and disadvantages, we must not force them to try to invest in bitcoin because it will be up to them and we can only tell what we know. Adding the option of paying using bitcoin can give them a sense of curiosity to start trying to learn about bitcoin before they even try to use it. If more people are willing to accept new things, especially bitcoin, this will increase the adoption process and provide more support for bitcoin. And people who start using bitcoin as an investment will also benefit from it in the future.

If I open my business for myself, my wife or family,  I'll only do things that will promote the business.
I mean if I want to promote Bitcoin, I'll simply do a separate campaign for busines. I'll only accept it in my business if my customers demand it as a method of payment.
I'll consider to conduct a survey, if my customers don't know it or are not interested, I won't force it.

Looking at who bears the transaction fee;
How to handle volitilty;
Who will handle the bitcoin transactions in my absence; etc
I'll not force it.

It's always encouraging to see more people adopting Bitcoin, and spreading awareness is one of the easiest ways to encourage adoption. And that is what you have came up with  by accepting Bitcoin in your shop as option for payment. As you noted, many folks aren't even aware of what Bitcoin is. But I believe many people will be made aware of that by the time you start accepting it. Op try and make the notification notice larger and well design so that
more eye can catch.

you can also gain their interest by reducing a small amount of money for any one willing to pay with Bitcoin I believe that help to bring more customers to you.
I will not advise him to reduce any amount just because  he want to attract more customers to adopt Bitcoin, due to is doing a business and nobody is paying him for taking any awareness or accepting Bitcoin. and infact he is not the one producing wine but just a store keeper, I don't think reducing price will be a good idea but only putting he business in risk.

I only suggested that to the OP because maybe it will attract more customers to him since it appears that Bitcoin is not used for payments in the op's locality but it all depends on the op because he's the only one that knows the benefit and gains he will make if more customers are attracted to his shop because of the small incentives he's willing to give to customers who makes payments with Bitcoin. It is left for the op to decide since he is the only one who knows the reason for starting payments with Bitcoin and as someone who wants customers patronage with Bitcoin, it will be wise to make a little reduction for them for sometime then the price can go back to normal when they have finally realized that transactions are faster, easier and more secured using Bitcoin for payments of goods and services.

You started with good way how to promoting Bitcoin to public and actually with your environment by accepting Bitcoin for your win store, should put and use clearly Bitcoin logo in front of your store for accepting Bitcoin as payment currency. No matter with little reached when first time adopting Bitcoin for payment method.

Step by step many people will know about your store actually for Bitcoin community purchasing in your store using Bitcoin, have many friendly respond many costumer when finding with store accepting Bitcoin as payment currency transaction. You need get allowed from your government country about Bitcoin is allow using for digital payment currency in your store or forbidden payment.

It will be interesting to try something like this, and I am confident that it will contribute to the growth of the Bitcoin ecosystem. However, you must brace yourself for some difficulties because you intend to teach some of them, who are unfamiliar with Bitcoin, what Bitcoin is. There may come a time when you are asked a question about Bitcoin that you have never heard of.

So, if you truly want to continue with this initiative, you must arm yourself with the necessary knowledge to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

I think that's really a nice idea, if people visit your store and they want to make payment, make sure you always ask them if they are going to pay with bitcoin and listen to their response, the once that know about bitcoin but don't have Bitcoin or are not ready to pay with bitcoin will definitely say No, but the once that don't know anything about bitcoin will definitely ask (what is bitcoin?) then you can use the opportunity to explain to them.

I am always considering bitcoin for payments and regular transactions but our government is strict when it comes to it. So OP unless you are from El Salvador and Central African Republic, make sure your government and local authorities are not that strict with regard to bitcoin regulations since penalties may be harsher than your expectations and we tend to ignore it sometimes. You already have a great idea about accepting bitcoin for your business, the best way is to probably ask your local bureau if it is okay or if you need a permit or something.

I think your plan to accept Bitcoin payment in your win shop is a good one because this is really going to pave way for more customers if your country accepts Bitcoin for payments otherwise you still need to convert your funds back to your local fiat currency to buy more goods in your shop to keep it running.

As suggested by @Erumo, you need to get a sticker with Bitcoin logo that will also do a major advert for you because alot of people will likely do business with you if they find out that you accept Bitcoin for payments. Try aacmuch as possible to encourage any customer willing to do business with you via Bitcoin payment  you can also gain their interest by reducing a small amount of money for any one willing to pay with Bitcoin I believe that help to bring more customers to you.

simple steps that are pretty good, don't forget to add a banner that is clearly visible in front of your shop, so that it can be more attractive to people passing by.
continue to provide prices for goods or products that you will sell using bitcoin, so that it is easier and more practical to see prices.
if around you there are many people who have bitcoins, surely your shop will be the subject of discussion and of course it is likely that there will be many visitors.

A good way to promote bitcoin is that we have to provide enough and interesting information and we also have to be able to reach the right audience, we also have to keep abreast of the latest developments in the bitcoin industry and have to adapt our promotion strategy according to developments, we also have to create media accounts bitcoin-focused social media and upload content that interests others to find out more about bitcoin.

That will be ok for businesses that are completely independent of the fiat system otherwise a society that is dependent on the system will be against you in the future once they understand that Bitcoin can't be subject to it, leading to problems for your business.
Just make sure you own the shop, produce the wine yourself, or atleast the one you rented the shop from and the sources for the ingredients for making the wine should also be independent people who use Bitcoin for transactions.

My views are based on long-term implications of the path you choose today.

I think that the best way of promoting Bitcoin is by investing in Bitcoin and the ocean shall the awareness of bitcoin to other people because I couldn't remember how it got viral  through the process of letting people surrounding you or around you to know the importance of Bitcoin

Investing in bitcoin is definitely not the best way of promoting it nowadays: may be earlier, when in was just developed... but now it has it's own value already and main idea is to spread in wider. To be more successful bitcoin needs more people having and using it and more places you can operate it directly.

Even one more small additional store is good in that way. One store in one place, one in another and bitcoins spreads wider in general, what is good.

That's a very good move, and it will impact the stigma of your consumers, who will, by and large, be wondering what bitcoin is.

The wrong mindset from the point of view of your consumers is reasonable in my opinion, because maybe they don't know what bitcoin is in a complex way and of course they also don't know how to use it to make transactions.
The decision that I think is right if you don't change the payment focus on bitcoin but make bitcoin as an alternative payment for the wine you sell, so that consumers can choose the means of payment.

This question can indeed be an initial inducement from you to people who visit your shop to buy the items needed, because in the end they will definitely ask again about what Bitcoin is before judging it personally. Yes, it can indeed be the initial stage for you in promoting Bitcoin and making Bitcoin more famous in your environment when people who have visited your shop hear it from you. So if you like Bitcoin payments for items in your shop, then just post a little announcement that you want to accept Bitcoin as payment for those who don't carry cash.

I don't want to promote it like what other people promote it where they keep saying "oh you need to invest in bitcoin for you to make money" which is a very wrong approach to me because people will not become interested to it whenever they hear it. I want to promote it by telling them how it works, the technology behind it and the future of it. The mainstream media promote the Bitcoin in a bad way where the majority of the people in my country doesn't have any intention to use or buy it because they have fear of losing in their money. I tried to promote it to my friends by telling them personally how it works and my strategy works very well so it may also be a good use to you.

Are you the major wine brand in your country? Or at least one of the top player in this industry in local market? If not, then you can't promote bitcoin but instead, you can use bitcoin to promote your business. Bitcoin is an innovation for the society and even the word sounds innovative for those who don't know what it is.
The more payment options you have, the better for your business because if I am an user and want to buy your product but you don't accept my preferred payment method, then I'll start looking for your opponent companies in hope to pay with btc for example. When I find your opponents, there is a chance that I'll find their product more than yours and instead of you, I'll become their, who knows, maybe loyal customer.
So, yeah, accept Bitcoin and altcoins too. I guarantee you that you won't receive many transactions but this is what you can do to promote bitcoin and your business, all together:
1. A lot of TVs will accept your offer to film your viticulture where you can talk about how you produce it, what are the problems you face, what benefits you gain, you can also talk that you are the only one who accepts bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in this industry, etc.
2. You can also ask journalists of news websites to come with you, interview you where you'll talk about this innovative payment method. News websites are looking for clickbait, so, you give them a reason for this. Imagine this kind of title: Italy's famous wine company decided to accept bitcoin payments. Imagine something like this, I think it sounds great, right? So you know what to do Smiley

Wish you good luck Smiley

That seems like a great idea. People who buy wine tend to have more money to spend on investments, and tend to be more educated which means they are more open to learning about something like bitcoin and using it.

How did you come up with that conclusion? Grin Are there any studies proving such correlation between win consumption and investments?
OP can do whatever he wants with his business. He knows his customers and he must decide whether or not to start promoting Bitcoin.
I can't see any clear benefit of promoting BTC in a wine store. Bitcoin has nothing to do wine and I don't really think that accepting BTC payments would boost OP's sales. He can try to educate some of his customers about BTC without having to expect any kind of direct benefit out of BTC adoption. There's nothing wrong with that.

Know first if there are huge number of people using bitcoin on your place since if you just introduce bitcoin without knowing its demand maybe you are just wasting your time for doing that because for sure people will just ignore it and use the traditional method they use.

To create noise about possible adoption on your store scout first the people around you since if there's a bunch of bitcoin user in your place for sure you will be the talks in the town for accepting it on your store.
One person per month is my goal, it's not entirely about accepting bitcoin as means of payment, I want to use this to spread the news about Bitcoin and have some discussion, if I can get someone every month to discuss Bitcoin with then it's for the greater good.

I will introduce discounts with Bitcoin payment, people love discounts I believe, so this will force them to want to know what Bitcoin is all about and how they can get it.

This is actually a good idea. Some small stores near my place is actually doing this to promote crypto and it feels awesome to see a Bitcoin logo every time I pass by that store. Unfortunately, I haven't tried it yet since I'm on the hodler side and I keep my BTC in exchangers I trust, not in my wallet  Grin

It's good to have another payment option that's different on what we often use everyday, and I find cashless payment convenient every time.

I think accepting Bitcoin is a good way to promote both Bitcoin and your store because

  • You can attract customers who are interested in using cryptocurrency for purchases.
  • You can also attract customers who wanted to venture a different method of payment.
  • It is also possible for your business to open globally or access international customers because Bitcoin is a p2p payment system that knows no boundaries.
  • It is also a good way to raise awareness about Bitcoin people will possibley become interested on Bitcoin whenever they see the banner of your store  stating that it is accepting Bitcoin

from the several points you mentioned, increasing awareness of the use of bitcoin is the main purpose why adoption is done. Ordinary people who don't understand bitcoin don't know how useful bitcoin is for payment and is an option for payment today. not only as a means of payment, but also can be used as a good investment tool if you can manage it properly.
The stores that start accepting bitcoins depend on the regulations of their respective countries. Most of those who have adopted bitcoin are from countries that fully accept bitcoin. But some developing countries only allow bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies only as commodity tools and may not go beyond that.

Small steps taken forward by businesses run by people like and you and me will help much in the real-time usage of bitcoin. While making a bitcoin accepted sign it is also good to add how things work with bitcoin in a step by step guide. Maybe that'll avoid you briefing the process involved during the transaction to customers who prefer to know about it. From that we can understand how much is people interested into it, because only the people who willing to use it further request the help from you to know better about it.

I think any method in which bitcoin is used as a means to transact is a good enough way to promote its usage to the general public. Although I think it would suffice if steps on how to create bitcoin wallets as well as funding them to let the ones who are not that savvy with bitcoin know. Cause in my opinion it would only cater towards those who already have bitcoin in their pockets. I think a huge signage or a poster on your store where you let people know you accept bitcoin payments could be good too.
Confidence...!

There is no formula to promote, just believe and trust, put the notice in your business, that in itself is enough.

We always see this request that you make on the merchant's side but rarely have I seen the story of someone walking into a business and saying "when are you going to accept bitcoin".

 OP
.  Another context same story "hit" and "acclaimed" 1000 times on this board
This is good. that actually makes sense.
If Bitcoin is legal in your country, this is a wonderful way to promote it. You can write something like "Bitcoin accepted here, pay in Bitcoin get 10% discount". Those who acknowledge Bitcoin will pay you in Bitcoin. Those who are unfamiliar with Bitcoin will be inspired by it. If this is the case, they may inquire about Bitcoin and conduct their own Google search. This indicates that you are directly adapting Bitcoin. On the other hand, it will assist in the expansion of your business. People will talk about you accepting Bitcoin and spread the word. As a result, you may gain more customers.
Exactly, discounts on bitcoin payments could work too so people are urged to use bitcoin as a payment option, and a good way to entice those who are not using bitcoin as well. Pair this with a good infographic on how to create bitcoin wallets as well as how to fund them, and your target demographic is set!

It depends on where you live and whether there are a lot of bitcoin users in your area, or you can promote your trade through social media or where you trade with flyers so you can accept bitcoin payments.
and if your business always has a lot of people coming to buy i think there is nothing wrong with you doing that and i think now everyone knows what bitcoin is and what bitcoin is used for. And the advantage you get if you accept bitcoin as payment is, when the bitcoin price goes up, your previous profit will double according to the bitcoin price.
and I suggest you keep it for the long term, and if there is something to buy for your business, put it on fiat and let your bitcoin work and grow.
and ignore those who think bitcoin is a fraud because there are still many people who believe in it.
There is not much Bitcoin users in my area but I think idea will bring up some curiosity, there are smart students around my area for example and I believe they could develop some interest .

As for my business, I am thinking of an attractive offer that can make them want to buy Bitcoin and use Bitcoin to buy from me then this will even prompt them to look more into what Bitcoin is.

It is not rare for businesses to offer a discount if a particular form of payment is used, so if you can afford it you could offer a small discount for those which buy your products with bitcoin, for those which have no idea what bitcoin is this is going to be more than enough to cause them to look information on the internet about bitcoin or they could ask you directly, because at the end of the day who does not like the idea of enjoying a small discount if you are a frequent customer at a specific store? Now many will decide bitcoin is not for them but still every single effort done to promote bitcoin adds up.

I think you can have a test phase with your wife regarding accepting bitcoin for your store and surely before even testing it you need to have enough information about bitcoin and the bitcoin transaction yo use for your store. You can also use some pre-made bitcoin payment systems but all these methods need to bed tested by yourself to make sure if its suits you.
Also if you want to promote bitcoin you can give a simple paper with your products and in that paper, you can give some keywords about bitcoin to make people interested in it.

Of course it is good to raise awareness of others about bitcoin on the sidelines of business, and again it's up to your environment and availability particularly time to teach customers some basic lessons. And you need to know, new people are usually more skeptical of financial matters. Here you are required to explain to them more carefully, maybe you will get some opposition from them fiat fanatics.
I think that in Bitcoin education YG teck the process of slow to impart knowledge of bitcoin to another person so many people find it very difficult to understand they measure with context to move further but will this point I believe that bitcoins have a long way to understand if you follow the normal process of it so teaching people Bitcoin or involving Bitcoin in your business is another room to advertise the product or bitcoin or to make bitcoin to be aware of your people

What do you think?
A big wine store means a single sale can be a huge amount of money on a good day and also means that there will be a lot customers to your store because people like different categories of drinks. Introducing bitcoins to your customers for payment is a great idea. The benefit to you is that it can reduce the stress with going to banks and help you avoid any third party challenges. The benefit to your customers is that it will introduce another payment option to them. It is a good way to promote bitcoin.

And it is not a new idea. We have seen in this forum alone, some shop owners are really trying to include btc in their payment method.
Even small shop is getting their hands on it. If the OP is already a crypto user, it won't be difficult for him to implement such idea.
He can even educate some of his willing customers on how to get a hold of btc and use it for payment.

To the OP, you can start this anytime and see what interest you will get from your community. There's no harm done in trying.
Also, make sure that when you offer your btc address, your wallet where you generate your address is not prone to possible hacking.
I read recently that one of the BMs here in the forum seemed to be hacked using his electrum wallet as hot wallet.

For my understanding I believe that there is no idea that is not good but in some extent what somebody have to do I do with money the person have to take a proper care and the understanding before doing anything that you not regret concerning bitcoin. Investment with bitcoin is quite alright but aspect of investment risk must be taken

I think that you do very well in accepting bitcoin, because it is the money of the future, you have to see that all the benefits that bitcoin gives are many, it is a very good way of having a secure payment, and if the merchant wants to have that money in savings can increase greatly when bitcoin increases, bitoin's tendency is always to rise in price, in the short term things can become very confusing but understanding well what can be achieved is very large, it should be taken as The best way to have profitability up to a lifetime, because if you manage to have 1 bitcoin it is enough to live a life full of luxuries.
It's true, bitcoin is not even the money of the future anymore, it's literally money of todays world. I understand that fiat is still used a lot more that's true, but who invests into something that is considering such situations in the long run?

I have to say that it is not going to be any different in the future, bitcoin is the most invested money of all time; yeah all I am saying is that it is the most invested money of all time. That's why it's going to stay that way, nothing that you could spend and invest into at the same time could be this big, it's really insanely well designed.

The popularity of cryptocurrencies is growing, and many people are looking for ways to use them as payment methods. The promotion of bitcoin is not a bad idea at all, but would people want to spend their bitcoin now considering the state of the market I personally would not want to make that decision of spending my bitcoin. The good news is that the information will spread through customers visiting your store and if questions are raised you should also inform them of the risk involved in the investment.

Curiosity could always work that is how some of us got into crypto honestly it is also part of the reason why I got into it.
What is bitcoin?
Whenever I got that question I would just tell them that it is a cryptocurrency a digital money that has been created to give us financial freedom and anonymity.
What benefits come from using it as payment?
Cashless transaction other than that it would really depends on the seller some gives out discount for using crypto as a payment on their business.
Then I will give my answer and see if any people become more interested in it, some have heard about it but they have a wrong perspective of what Bitcoin is leading to believe it's a scam.  What do you think?
It has been that way ever since the beginning there are always some people who thinks that it is a scam, even some of my relatives thinks that it was a scam when I first introduce it to them, they were thinking that who on earth would buy a single piece of coin with that much value.
They just need to understand and we just need to explain it much more or detailed that is how I dealt with it.

You probably have seen a considerable number of threads from retail sellers on this forum section sharing their personal experiences when adopting Bitcoin as a payment method for their businesses, especially in Nigeria. So yes, it's a good a way to promote BTC to potential new adopters who have never heard about it before, or have heard, but have no clue on how to start dealing with the digital currency.

If you have spare time to teach and guide your customers, it's really a good idea. This way you will also be helping Bitcoin adoption to grow, consequently boosting BTC price even more.

I think that you will complicate the matter more for your customers, because this procedure will help, of course, to introduce Bitcoin and the benefits of using it, but it will not be very encouraging to them.  To buy a bottle of wine should not be very complicated, and if the transaction can be achieved using some cash or a transfer using a bank card, then there is no real need to use Bitcoin in this case.
You can imagine the technical dilemmas that you will involve yourself in finding solutions to in order to establish a Bitcoin payment system, whether on a virtual or physical store.

Incorporating bitcoin as a payment method into your company is always a smart move. In actuality, it's the modest part you can play in spreading awareness of and encouraging the use of bitcoin.
I advise you to thoroughly plan it out and attempt to test out a few of your potential ideas. Here is an idea: you could have a screen or banner that provides information on the investing in bitcoin and how one can get involved and use it for payment of goods or services where it is accepted.

I guess, to instances as such, the outcome depends on your business and not to your consumers. Ofcourse this would be a good idea especially for crypto industry but what would matter is whether your business would survive doing so or not. Given that the market price won't continuously go up, how would you be able to sustain your business in the first place during market dips? Let's be real. Such business would require you to put stock whenever it is running low. Would you be able to sell your holdings even if the price is still low?, That would be an instant loss for sure. Supporting this industry will never be a bad idea but be sure you'd be able to compensate yourself as well.

It's a welcomed development. That payment method has been ongoing among some of my compatriots here who run local businesses in the country. For them, they've recorded surprising patronage which was birthed out of curiosity. Note that there are people who are keen on trying new techs if they're exposed to it. Just be ready to answer a lot of penetrating questions on what you're about to get into. Do you've time for that? Will you not be irritated by their nagging questions and then get stressed out? By the way, get a Bitcoin sign and place in your shop to get more attention. If you're lucky, those who know about Bitcoin already and live in your area will want to flock to your shop more because there's that comradeship among Bitcoiners.

and I suggest you keep it for the long term, and if there is something to buy for your business, put it on fiat and let your bitcoin work and grow.
and ignore those who think bitcoin is a fraud because there are still many people who believe in it.

It is not only a good way to promote bitcoin but also benefits you. Adding bitcoin to your business payment method will help your business attract more customers, especially bitcoin investors like us. As a bitcoin investor, I am really excited and interested in businesses that use bitcoin, so I think others are too, I'm sure it will attract other investors. But more importantly, you must ensure you live in a country where bitcoin is legal, or your business will run into trouble with the law.

What benefits come from using it as payment?

I don't know how many people will choose bitcoin payment but it won't be a large percentage at first.

If you're a bitcoin investor and would like to buy and hold some as a store of value accepting it in your store is a great way to DCA anonymously without having to touch an exchange, go through their KYC process and all that.

There's a chance you'll find new friends. People who live in your area and are into bitcoin but weren't spending it locally because there were no places that accepted it. Maybe some of them will want to help your business.

Simply put a sign in your door stating that you accept bitcoin, and you will undoubtedly have a lot of customers asking you questions; just put it up because most people are curious about it right now. Also, there is nothing wrong with it unless it is illegal in your country. The positive side of this is that it will attract more customers to you. Just prepare your answers about bitcoin and if they want to pay using it, as this is the most common question. Good luck with that, and please keep us updated about what is the outcome on this.

That should depend on the environment in which you operate your business. If you see that you have more resources to launch your business while accepting bitcoin as payment, and ifms is acceptable to your customers, I believe that is not a bad idea. However, beware of scammers. Another advantage is that if you accept bitcoin as payment and keep it, the price may increase at any time.

It could be a good time to promote bitcoin in your city but you still have to follow the rules in your city so you don't break those rules.
For the initial stage, you can post a notification that you accept payments via bitcoin (if your country allows the use of bitcoin and it is legal there).
This will catch people's attention, especially if they see the bitcoin logo in front of your shop.
The benefit may be security as they don't need to carry cash to shop at any store that accepts bitcoins as payment.
But if your country hasn't allowed the use of bitcoins, you shouldn't because it could be against the rules.

For me  i think its a good idea, because like you said they are lots of people there who still have the wrong perception towards bitcoin and still think its a scam project and are missing out on all the benefits one could get from bitcoin. Promoting bitcoin is a current trend that is going on currently in the  some places in my locality, i have been to many business place around me that offer the acceptance of bitcoin in return for their services.
Creating a curiosity in the mind of people about bitcoin through your business is a very good idea especially when you have the right answers to address this this curios minds.

But if you're allow free access to Bitcoin then you can give it a trial with extreme caution in order not to discourage your customers.

When you see a new label with a new payment method on a cashier's like Apple Pay or Samsung Pay are you really discouraged with that? Most people just ignore what is not interesting to them. I hardly can imagine that starting accepting bitcoin as a new payment option will negatively impact on customers: who will be curious ‒ can learn more about bitcoin, others will just overlook the label not interesting to them in person.

It depends on the place you're living thou. If the law and government of your country prohibit Bitcoin then you should be law abiding citizen first by not broadcasting what the government is against. But if you're allow free access to Bitcoin then you can give it a trial with extreme caution in order not to discourage your customers.

Any sign like BTC accepted here makes entire situation with bitcoin adoption better: people see that more and more places are bitcoin friendly. Of course it motivates them to know about bitcoin more. And one day the amount of places accepting bitcoin will be as big as popular fiat systems like Visa or Mastercard have.

We all remember how big impact has first deal of buying pizza for bitcoins. Each time it can be a small step, but if this step is in a right direction it is better to make it than not IMO.

If you have a business and regular customers, why not try adopting Bitcoin? You could put up a sign on the door or near the counter, saying "Bitcoin is accepted here", for starters. If you have an online shop as well, you could accept Bitcoin payments there directly (onto a Bitcoin address), given that waiting for it to be confirmed isn't an issue. If Bitcoin starts being accepted in the store, I think people will understand they can ask about Bitcoin there as well. Good luck!

In such cases, I always think that YES instead of NO. Try to implement your plan and see where it leads. In my opinion, you have nothing to lose.

You can write down a discount for paying with a bitcoin as a benefit for buyers. Make a discount of at least a symbolic 5% and then it will be an attractive offer for them. To be honest, it seems to me that the discount should be higher, because people will lose on the commissions of exchangers, which will also push them away from paying in bitcoin. Calculate the approximate costs for the exchange rate + your discount and you will get the figure that will be of interest to buyers.

Accepting Bitcoin as a means of payment is one way to bring publicity to the network and attract people to using it. You can also explore other options to make it more attractive to your customers like;

• Selling Bitcoin collectibles,
• Having Bitcoin themes designs in your store and possibly exploring NFTs (it has bad rep around here and has hit some downtime, but it's still an attractive option),
• Running Bitcoin quizzes and games.

All these are cost effective means if bringing attention to Bitcoin.

As long as you're confident that you can actually give great answers that doesn't make Bitcoin sound like a pump-and-dump scheme, then sure.

In my opinion, a quick conversation in your store isn't ample enough time for them to get a good grasp on what Bitcoin is and why it's important. Idunno, probably hand out small strips of paper with links to education material?

There's nothing new if you starts accepting bitcoin, well to my best knowledge it would be a win win move for you because those who wants to pay through bitcoin would be very much easier for them and also for you as the receiver, if bitcoin price soar along the line then you have more profits during conversion to USD or to your local currency (fiat). As well as giving bitcoin a maximum exposure within or around your locality.

You should also look into how to accept payments with bitcoin lightning network.
I believe the lightning network was created to allow more efficient means for retailers to accept btc payments.

It is a great way to promote Bitcoin. You should definitely try that out but, keep your expectations low when it comes to sales via crypto. Online stores works the best for that(maybe set one up for delivery?) and is safer for you as well. You could wait for the confirmations first on blockchain and then start delivering the goods. Regarding those questions, you could set up a FAQ board along with a "Bitcoin accepted here and the QR code" sign.

It depends on where you live and whether there are a lot of bitcoin users in your area, or you can promote your trade through social media or where you trade with flyers so you can accept bitcoin payments.

That seems like a great idea. People who buy wine tend to have more money to spend on investments, and tend to be more educated which means they are more open to learning about something like bitcoin and using it.

I think it's a test you can run without causing yourself, your business, your clients or the community any harm (at least, if you don't use an external payment provider, don't accept 0 conf transactions, make sure you keep your wallet safe, and convert sufficient BTC to FIAT to make sure you can pay your own vendors/taxes/...).

Honestly, going on the little bit of experience i have by helping to setup and maintain a small online store, i don't think you'll make a lot of sales using BTC... But the cost of accepting bitcoin *can* be 0, so it's defenately worth a try. The more stores accepting BTC, the more "mainstream" we become.

Good luck Smiley
