Be aware that Mt Gox spreads are currently very efficient - tiny,  due to the fact that many active traders there were granted a month's worth of transactions with no commissions when their in-place trades were rolled back.  Other traders at Mt Gox are paying .3 % for thirty days I think.

Any new HFT (high frequency trading) bot will have to take this commission disparity into account immediately, or simply wait out the 30 days or so until presumably commissions for everyone revert to .65 %.  If your trading algorithm does not depend upon fair spreads, i.e. the current Mt Gox situation, then go for it.

It could just look for a % margin and then trade when it is achieved.

I'm still quite new here but have a degree in software engineering and computer games development (inc AI).

I can't believe I'm offering advice to someone who wants to build a bot.  It's a very bad idea and you could end up losing a lot.  But, make sure you take into transaction fees and delayed market data.  Also be sure not to DOS their API or they may blacklist you.

Hello,

Im working on a vb.net bot to trade at mtgox when they will bring back their api.

I was wondering what kind of "AI" should the bot have.

like what signal should he look at to make a sell or a buy.

what should be monitoring, options and so one.

Waiting for feedback !

Buy low, sell high!

Also, when the market is crashing, close all positions and open lots of $0.012 trades. This should guarantee prophets Smiley
