She nor the bill suggests any of those things you just said.  Thanks for proving my point though and showing tecshare that people who "know" about it actually just believe a bunch of crazy misinformation like a train from dc to Hawaii.

"The Bitcoin network is bad for the environment, so it should be shutdown before the Earth ends up enveloped in a thick cloud of methane gas, exactly 12 years from now..."

Interesting proof, considering I never said anything about a train from DC to Hawaii. How about you pick a policy in it Captain Postmodern, your choice, and I will tell you why it is totally insane and non-viable. Howbow dah? Cash me outside.

Wow! Impressive meme magic there at the end.

She is not the brightest bulb. Let's hope it's a fake photoshopped image. She can't be that stupid. Oh wait...

Ocasio-Cortez accuses fellow Democrat of being creepy

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/ocasio-cortez-accuses-fellow-democrat-of-being-creepy

Maybe she isn't stupid and the attack went a bit over your head.  Take some more time to think about the name of the account that posted the image, the content of their post, and who the democrat in the picture is then check back with me here.

Make sure you read the fine print of the question they asked.

"Some members of Congress are proposing a “Green New Deal” for the U.S. They say that a Green New Deal will produce jobs and strengthen America’s economy by accelerating the transition from fossil fuels to clean, renewable energy. The Deal would generate 100% of the nation’s electricity from clean, renewable sources within the next 10 years; upgrade the nation’s energy grid, buildings, and transportation infrastructure; increase energy efficiency; invest in green technology research and development; and provide training for jobs in the new green economy. How much do you support or oppose this idea?"

Oh that's right, the question was phrased in such a way as to create the pretense that it is a given this plan is viable and nothing more given. Additionally from your own report you will see the majority of the 966 respondents have never heard of the deal, which means no one had any idea what they were saying yes to.

Thats the point.  The question asks is what the Green new deal is and everyone likes it because "people like nice things" and it is only nice things.  Then, when they "learn" what it "really is" from Sean Hannity, they hate it because of the lies that it bans meat, cars, and airplanes.

Moral of the story is that spreading misinformation about a piece of legislation is actually an affective strategy that can turn something almost everyone supports into a "controversy".

It is not practical, nor even green, to build a railroad from DC to Hawaii... No one will die from cow farts in 12 years... All you need is a spark between two functioning neurons, while you lay down in a comatose state, hooked up to a machine that keeps you alive... to understand how dumb she is.

 Grin

And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids

I didn't say anything about Sean Hannity. I don't even watch Fox. I don't even watch TV. This is all you just crafting a false equivalency in your mind so you can pretend one side is just as bad as the other therefor any opposing claims have just as much validity as my own. No. This is not how reality works. I did ONE thing, and that was objectively dismantle your shit source, and the shit misleading methodology used to collect it. You could ask everyone if they want free ponies I bet you that most people would agree, but then when it comes to how to actually produce over 350 million ponies, house, feed, and medically treat them, suddenly the question becomes more complicated now doesn't it? Ponies are nice things too, just as long as some one else has to feed and board them. The green new deal would be a nice thing, except for the fact it is not at all viable in anything but the mind of Captain Postmodern.

None of these ideas were created by AOC.  You guys do realize that people in congress create legislation, not ideas, don't you? The green new deal dates back to the 2000s and all of the ideas in it are research based and have been around much longer.  AOC is simply the acting salesperson.

Not only is this all feasible/non-fantasy, its all been done before and is being done in other countries.   Anyone who has done 30 seconds of research would know that something like medicare4all is not only proven feasible, but also proven ideal.  It sucks that there are a lot of smart people out there intentionally spreading misinformation to people who won't bother to do the basic research before regurgitating such lies.

Its all eventually going to happen for sure but the question is "how much damage are we going to allow before we make the shift?"  It should have happened in the 90s, was due in the 2000s, is urgent in the 2010s, and the 2020s is our last decent chance.  It would be a shame to make all of these changes in the 2030s after hundreds of millions have been displaced and entire ecosystems have permanently collapsed but that is what is at stake.

The stupidity she brought onto the table is on a whole other level, same for the other "fresh faces" of the democratic party. They are what i would call clickbait in a human form. They spew bs that has literally no way of coming to fruition nor is it thought through or consistent. People like her is the reason Trumps gona win again lol

Exactly, after planting a fantastic vision in peoples' heads, and after getting elected, then it's the same old song with new players.

This is also called politicians lying.

Simpe as that.

Yup also the way she got elected is god damn absurd. Even Peloci  sayd that you could essentially take anything, even a cup and put D next to it and it would win in that district. But social media is blowing it all out of proportions, same as it does with the far left coverage. Theres a very vocal minority that is pushing this progressive narrative but luckily the majority of people are still sane Cheesy
by majority of the people, do you mean the 19% of the people who do not support the green new deal?
https://www.ecowatch.com/green-new-deal-voter-support-2623737355.html

What you have there is a survey that says 81% of totally uninformed people like good things. Surveys are not science. Surveys as any scientist knows are totally able to be manipulated top to bottom. I don't even think you read your own source, because if you did you would see it all it proves is people like nice things.

Make sure you read the fine print of the question they asked.

Well would you look at that? It seems nearly the EXACT number of people who have no idea what it is also support it. WHAT A COINCIDENCE! By the way, the number you meant to say was 18%, I know the dying 3 legged hamster in your brain is going "HEY BUT THAT ONLY ADDS UP TO 99%!". This is what people who know how to actually read statistics call a margin of error. In summary top to bottom your entire statement is wrong. Just because you want something bad doesn't magically make it scientific. Go back to grade school Captain Postmodern.

She is a narcissist.

The GND is a fantasy that would crash the US economy, remove its status as a economic and military superpower and do absolutely nothing for the environment or global warming

I think you are too harsh in your comment.
OK, she is very young woman without any political experience but she have hearth and desire change something.
She sees that things in society do not work and rich people become more and more wealthy and the poor become more and more poorer.
Social inequality increases, industries are closed (automobile for example) etc.
At least she is trying something and now government should do next step and see what is realistic to apply and do in the following period.
Surely, some ideas are good and politicians should do something about it, environment, climate change etc.

She is taking credit for doing something that will save the world, but the world is not "going to end in 12 years" and what she is proposing is not going to save anything.

Quote from: google search "narcissist"
narcissist -

noun

a person who has an excessive interest in or admiration of themselves.
"narcissists who think the world revolves around them"
I think the above describes AOC pretty well.

What if we actually pulled off a Green New Deal? What would the future look like? The Intercept presents a film narrated by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and illustrated by Molly Crabapple.

Set a couple of decades from now, the film is a flat-out rejection of the idea that a dystopian future is a forgone conclusion. Instead, it offers a thought experiment: What if we decided not to drive off the climate cliff? What if we chose to radically change course and save both our habitat and ourselves?

We realized that the biggest obstacle to the kind of transformative change the Green New Deal envisions is overcoming the skepticism that humanity could ever pull off something at this scale and speed. That’s the message we’ve been hearing from the “serious” center for four months straight: that it’s too big, too ambitious, that our Twitter-addled brains are incapable of it, and that we are destined to just watch walruses fall to their deaths on Netflix until it’s too late.

This film flips the script. It’s about how, in the nick of time, a critical mass of humanity in the largest economy on earth came to believe that we were actually worth saving. Because, as Ocasio-Cortez says in the film, our future has not been written yet and “we can be whatever we have the courage to see.”
I haven't felt this good about something political in a long time. The comments are hilarious though.

why should anyone care about those communists, communists arent good with money you know, they work like a unreliable central bank, if they communist arent willing to suffer they are a big problem because they will continously cause costs and enrich the central core aroun the money printing press

good luck

Building a nation with this kind of approach is most likely brilliant but is really hard to execute a type of idea. Raising children to become a nature servant is really a good thing. However, since we are in the generation where the influencers are really different than the fairytale we adore, It is really hard to raise them to become a nature enthusiast.

If we really want these to happen and for us to acquire a lot of laborers to serve the globe, then we have to make sure to use the influencers as our priority for the herd to follow their great footsteps. If we really want a chance, the government is not needed and one we only need to do is to participate one by one.

Luckily, even some democrats joined republicans in order to reject GND vote in congress. I never thought I would say that but hopefully, the american political system reached its peak of idiocy and soon it might stop degrading and throw people like Ocasio-Cortez away from the political field until they get more power.
