Someone will always be there to jump on a coin before looking at it. But you can be ahead of them by at least verifying (1). If there is a premine, and (2). How heavy it is. I wrote a sort-of guide for it here. Remember that you can always assume scammers will lie, it's their nature, and so it is one's responsibility to verify their claims when looking at a coin. Smiley If you have any questions on identifying premines, be sure to ask.

I'm tired of these scammers too. At the very least I will check the source code before I even consider to buy into or mine a coin.

I agree! Too many scam coins coming out lately. Everyday a new shit coin comes out with nothing new, with the sole purpose of ripping off people.

What I would like is a chance to see the code before it goes live or at least as soon as it does.  The source code needs looked at and read and picked apart by people who actually can read the code and know what it does and means. This should eliminate scam coins and other nonsense.

Hello.

Lately, whenever I am going throo a few topics on this forum, I keep seeing bad experiences with all these new coins coming out and nothing being really done about it.
So I am wondering, what would you like to choose as criteria, what demands; from an "investor's" point of view?
I am also talking to all the miners out there, what is your criteria on choosing which new coins are worth to mine?
We should surely come out with an all around agreed criteria to maybe smell the scams before they hit any more people? That should push the developers even further with their development in the long run.

That would make a huge progress for the altcoin community's future.
