I understand that the link is scam, but isn't it strange that they requested the public key, not the private one? What will they benefit from this scam "except the site has a lot of mining viruses, and other malware"

They ask for the public key (blog post), but when you go to their airdrop page they are asking your private key.... initially it can't be appear as a scam (public key requested) but there is always a trick
