Thanks Krypto, keeping the computer close watching so I can get my order in.  Glad you clarified one kap is not a set.  Will make sure I request two kaps.

These are made out of black basalt stone.

What will the first group of Kaps be made out of?

No, the lines are not in accurate perspective, but this is to demonstrate these will be twice the size of standard playing dice. At 30mm x 30mm x 30mm, they are 8 times the volume and substantially heavier. We'll weigh em once the samples arrive.

I wanted to clear up some possible confusion. Each Kap comes individually, not in a set of two. In the future I'll be making Kaps that are not monthly editions that will include dice with one bearing cryptocurrency symbols, and the other with BUY, HODL, and SELL designs.... ok I might leave the SELL out. Never sell. Only buy and hodl.

Still getting quotes on those, but I'm hoping to price them around $15.  They would have the Kryptopath's KryptoKaps design on them, so they wouldn't necessarily match whatever other goodies you might have

The stand looks pretty cool, looking forward to getting one of those for sure.  Depending on price I'd most likely pick up an extra stand or 2 as well to display some other goodies if possible.

I think you might be misunderstanding this product. There are different symbols on each side. There isn't one with just ETH. I think that would defeat the point.

Do you perhaps mean you'll place a pre-order using ETH? Minerjones will be accepting ETH, VIA, DASH and LTC as well as BTC

Display stand concept art is done, and laser engraved design is on the way...

The idea is the Kap will rest either with an edge facing down, or a point facing down. Whatever the customer decides.



The display stands will be sold separately from the Kaps, which come in these satin-lined velvet pouches
Gonna be compiling a list of what's-in-the-box you'll all be getting with the pre-orders.

Also the bezels will be a bit sharper. Closer to right angled edges. Here's a tiny quick sketch to illustrate

Got some clarification from the manufacturer:

These basalt samples have been polished already but due to the texture of basalt, they are unable to achieve a glossy finish.

Also, the order to begin mass production will be placed this coming Monday, November 27th so I will be closing pre-orders before then.

Ah good point I forgot to mention I've asked for a glossy finish on these. The polish should look very similar. Hopefully get some pics of that soon.

I liked the marble ones better. They seemed more smooth looking.

I'll be announcing the preorder opening time in the next few hours. Should be sometime in the next few days.

The KP stamp will have to be removed from the stone versions as it is just too finely detailed. The COAs will have a raised stamped seal, so the KP stamp will still show up there.

Just wanted to give a bit of info on the procedure for preorders.

Once we've got pictures of some good stuff, and are ready to start mass production, I'll state an opening time for preorders, and will open a thread for those at that time.

People ready to make preorders can refresh snipe that thread I guess if they really want low numbers. But it will be fair. I'll try to be as on-the-dot as possible.

Copper would probably look nice!  Having metal dice sooner rather than later would be great, but it will probably come down to choosing between getting those started, and continuing the stone versions to get them out more on schedule. What's everyone's opinion on that?

I just saw that actually.  I'm sure you can achieve a dark black with the basalt or something else.

The dark black is awesome, but it might not be possible

Having the manufacturer try black basalt now. Marble has too many impurities. The laser can't make a sharp image.

AU or Platinum set would be BTC$$$  (marble and silver are both sweet too!)

You don't know until you ask! But sorry, as I say in the long and arduous post above, I will not be reserving any Kaps beyond #s 0001-0010 of which I will be keeping for my own collection and to give as gifts.

Which dice do you refer to? The cryptopods dice? Those are the only others I am aware of.

There are dice out there already, I have some of them in different colors and they are pretty nice.  Can't wait to get a set of yours.  Can I have the 1st set available?  Just thought I would ask.

OP, I don't collect crypto stuff but those dice are really sweet.  That's a very classy collectable, and I'm sure you'll sell a whole bunch of them.  Nice job.  I especially like the numbering scheme--that's clever.

Maybe you can make a few solid gold sets.

Thanks! I'll provide updates as they come. The manufacturer is going to try basalt as it has less impurities to mess with the laser.

We'll see how those turn out. I'm an early to bed early to rise guy so I'm gonna be saying goodnight soon.

These samples have a couple differences from the final production version. The KP stamp will have to be removed from the stone versions. As you can see it is just too finely detailed. Here's the display stand concept art and the pouches the kaps themselves will come in. Note there will be a laser engraved "Kryptopath's KryptoKaps" design on the front of the black stand.

KryptoKap Dice are collectable dice, featuring cryptocurrency symbols instead of dots or numbers, with most made out of solid marble, and some of metal.
Marble might have too many impurities to work with. Manufacturer is trying basalt. Basalt pics should be available on Tuesday.

Each side will feature the symbol of the cryptocurrency as related to its position on the 'Market Cap Dominance' chart. The chart is read at 12:01 AM on the first of the month, and can be found here:

For example this first edition of October 2017 will be:
Bitcoin - #1 (along with month, year and KP stamp)
Ethereum - #2
Bitcoin cash - #3
Ripple - #4
Litecoin - #5
Dash - #6

In short, the bigger the coin, the lower the roll

You'll notice the Ripple logo's replacement with XRP. This is due to Ripple not releasing their logos under a CC license. Ethereum and Dash have released their logos under CC licenses.

There will be a new edition for every month, and the design will be adjusted (or not) based on changes to the chart over time. The change we see from October to November is simply Ripple and Bitcoin Cash have switched places.

These will be a fun and unique way to visualize the changing cryptocurrency landscape over time. Each edition will include a short write up of the events of the past month and draw attention to notable changes in the design. Perfect for those wanting to display historical representations of the most disruptive technology of our time. It’s been a wild ride so far, and it will be cool to watch how the market changes these over time.


The bulk of these will be stone, with the designs laser etched in. These are the more affordable collectable pieces that people can feel more comfortable handling and rolling them, should they choose.

The higher-end dice will be made of metal (not quite sure what kind yet). The metal versions will include silver and gold plated, as well as hopefully one day solid silver. These metal versions will all include unique-numbered Certificates Of Authenticity.

These first ones in stone feature a simpler design than what will be possible with metal. The designs for these are done, but as it is now I need to secure more funding before I can get metal samples made and the production rolling on those. So I’m looking forward to being able to make some much more intricate designs. (As well as plenty of opportunities for hidden references in the binary background… stuff like that)

Here’s what makes these awesome and will keep them awesome:

• Each COA-bearing edition will have the same number of releases forever. I.E. there will only be 100 silver plated, 50 gold plated, 10 solid silver, or something to that effect for October, that many for November and so on.. While the numbers per edition remain the same, the prices are likely to change with demand. These numbers will be finalized after I get a feel for interest in the product.
• Once this project begins paying for itself, a portion of profits will be donated to local charities. Most of which will go toward meeting needs as they come up, but some will remain in bitcoin holdings to be saved for a period of time and then may be used by such charities. A couple bucks per Kap today might be a couple hundred in 10 years. At least that’s the idea.
• Here’s where it might get a little confusing. The plan is to follow a schedule for releases of current and previous months. Once production capacity allows, I will be releasing backdated months in reverse order from October 2017. Say for example come February, when I release the January 2018 edition, I will at the same time release the September 2017. Then around March I release the February 2018 and the August 2017. Then March 2018 and July 2017, April ‘18 and June ‘17, May ‘18 and May ‘17 and so on.

Because this is my first product, finances are tight, and getting off the ground is invaluable, I’m packing on the incentives to place a pre-order with minerjones as escrow. Note I won’t be opening pre-orders until I see pictures that confirm excellent quality. These first pictures are clearly not enough. While ideally I'd have the dice already in hand before opening pre-orders, however If I wait until I have them in my hands due to manufacturing and shipping time they might not arrive in time for the holidays. These will make great gifts, so we've gotta meet Santa's deadline! If the samples arrive on Monday then the Christmas deadline will be easily met.

• Pre-orders cost $15 per stone Kap - the in-stock price will be $20.
• These Pre-order stone editions will all come with unique “first edition preorder COAs”.  COAs will not be issued to general release marble editions, and will be reserved for the metal, and special issue editions such as for notable events like the Genesis Block, 10K Pizza, the First Halvening, etc. etc.
  -I will not be placing a limit on the number of pre-orders, so if you want 10, feel free to order 10, but who knows how many “pre-orders” will end up existing.
  -I will not be reserving any numbers of COAs beyond 0001-0010 I will be keeping for myself and gifts. It’s first come first served.
• Also included will be a signed letter of thanks for being the awesome people to help launch KryptoKaps
• Some nice laser engraved display stands are being produced in the near future as well. All pre-orders will be entitled to $5 off on those.
