It is so sad how the internet is becoming too scary to invest in and now full of scam projects and it's becoming easier with most projects that has no official problem statement and proposed solution. Many has turned to Metaverse and Nfts since the find it difficult breaking into the bitcoin network. The loss has occurred you just have to be careful and ensure to swallow greed and invest an amount you can afford to lose in future investments

Yea..it happens sometimes to even the most experienced in this space. I have heard people falling into the hands of scam projects, and I begin to wonder even with their own level of experience. It therefore means that we must be very vigilant. There are so many scam projects out there. They appear so good and tempting, but when you take a bite from their bait, you are gone for.
Anyways, sorry for the loss mate. I believe you will recover your loss pretty soon.

Next time, make enquiry before you dive into new project so that you won't loose your money, you shouldn't have invested on it as you noticed that telegram chat was restricted and the coin was increasing anyhow, 430$ might look small but is something, sorry about the lost ,thank God is not more than that.

Carry out personal research before investing your money on a particular project is very important because it will help you to know many things about the project, if the new project is fake or original you will definitely know and you can quickly avoid such project in the community. Invest little money on a new project to test how good or how long will it last for people to earn well from their investment. Those new project in the community has some signs they used to develop that will make investors to know the reality about the project and not to embark on it .  Experiencing those signs that the project has some doubt in the future that it will not be successful in the future, don't embark on such project again in the community.

I lost 430$ to a metaverse scam project yesterday, the project looks a lot like a professional job to me, everything was so detailed that you can't easily smell any rug pull, here is the project's website https://markmeta.finance/ but unfortunately it's a scam project, you can buy but you can't sell so here are what I find out

1. The price of this token kept surging and surging, there was no retrace or whatsoever which to me is a red flag, the whole chart was a straight line aiming for the moon.

2. Telegram channel was restricted, no one can make comments or send messages, another red flag that I don't get suspicious over

It's too late already but hope someone learn one or two lessons from this

don't get upset, buddy, this happens to everyone, study the project more closely in the future, but there are different cases, scammers hide very well under beautiful headlines, so no one is immune from this, but it's better to learn from other people's mistakes than from your own.

And I do hope you also learned a big lesson here. Even with how much the sweet the deal is we should dig deeper on what behind a project. A mere hype or a good whitepaper is not enough to make us jump in and invest even with just a small amount. It is still a waste and could've gone to another project that are true with what they aim.
This scammers will keep on attacking the crypto industry so we should always be keen to researching.

For those who are advising OP to DYOR first before investing in any project, don't forget that it may not be because OP didn't do their research before hand. These things happen and sometimes they make us look like we didn't look hard enough. Scammers and hackers are a set of misdirected smart people. I used the word "misdirected" responsibly to connote their misapplication of talents in the wrong place. They sure know how to get the unguarded public when they least expect.

All you described here OP, I have experienced. That's the price we pay for being in a newly charted territory. This is the main reason I hope there will be complete regulation and moderation in this industry. Sincerely, this crypto space is a crazy circus.

Yes, the loss of your funds on a fraudulent project is very strongly reflected in the fact that faith in promising projects is lost every day. And also the loss of funds has a very strong impact on health. This is a very strong psychological blow. So, in order to avoid losses of personal funds, you need to invest in proven crypto projects that have already been on the cryptocurrency market for several years.
From my perception of seeing lost of coins, i seems it like the process whereby it's avenue to correct yourself during been curious of adventuring into crypto investment, i understand in the crypto that it always come in contact to negative and positive or gain and lost, the only remedy there is that you will observe project platform before adventuring into it, scammers are very technical via building their sites or developing their site to be standard. In summary i believe you made a point.

People do mainly learn up things when they've been fucked up.I couldnt blame though since scammers are really that meticulous on making projects which do really looks too good to be true.

Even how hard you do make out those research and confirmation then you wouldnt know on what would happen next.Losses is inevitable though and this is where

analysis and self decision making towards on dealing with this investment world on this crypto space.

So you are saying that they basically closed every communication with the investors, if so then it is a rug pull and they made the money fooling the investors, it is unfortunate people are getting attracted to projects without verifying the team. You need to invest in projects that are transparent with the community where they are not afraid of revealing their identity.

I think next time be more careful in trading on a new project before you join the project first make further questions, the metaverse project is still in its early stages there is no definite certainty in every project concerning the metaverse in trading here is not easy without learning beforehand ,maybe there is another reason to want to say a scam project.
This is the problem, scam projects looks more convincing now and they really have a good plan to scam people, that’s why OP invested and trusted the platform, I imagine how many victims of this scam project. This is another lesson not to invest too early, better to wait for the exchange listing since the price will still be cheap and there should be no rush on buying, always wait for a good signal.

This is what we are always vigilant in following every project, so we always say over and over every project that we want to participate in must make deep research so as not to get caught up in the fraudulent project as you feel right now, hopefully this is a lesson for the future and do not be easily tempted by the big offer they give but we have to look at the whitepaper they make and the team that manages the project if it is not open in general then this should be  We avoid, from the site you follow does not give us the confidence to participate in it.
You got the point mate before participating any projects we must strictly research what this project all about the background or anything we can find some ideas if we need to trust this or ignore this project. It's better to be preventive than to spontaneous/greedy in our decision.
And do not try to trust all you already saw in the internet cause not all in the internet are good and secure.
It's a pity after the OP had already invested in the scam project before the OP pinpointed all the red flags relating to the scam project, however I salute the courage of the OP for bringing this to the notice of the forum and to newbies who intended to invest in that project, in crypto market there are many projects, it's up to every newbie or investor to make a thorough research into any new project to avoid falling victim to a scam just the one mentioned by the OP, in many cases those projects always promise fake and bogus rate of returns in their projects.
You would not be able to detect the red flags in the project if you have been blinded by its good promotion and promising goals that will make you fall for it. This is why we need to have a depth in research before deciding to invest as choosing a good project is utmost importance. But don't worry OP as you are not alone from falling into scam projects and losing a huge amount of money. This may be charged to experience but definitely you should have learned a big lesson from it.

If you look at the newly released projects today, its seldom to see projects that are only offering low and practical returns as it would not be convincing on the part of investors, particularly for newbies. So most of the projects offer high returns in which you can think if these are really legit or not. And most likely, scam projects do often look more legit than those established projects. So its a good thing to consider that not all gold is shining and shimmering. You also have to look the unwanted part of it.

It seems that OP was not a newbie in this field yet he still got scammed by this trendy project and fell to their traps. Some people really learn their lesson in the hard way since he took the red flag so lightly that eventually cost him a big fortune. Some people cost it their lives just because of a slight mistake, that's why it's so important to be cautious all the time and do your own research always.

If not sure ask the community about it here since most members here especially the reputable one are good at giving a hint or information if you lack about it and sorry for your loss.

Daily someone facing this kind of issue. Scammers usually use the trending label over scam project to deceive investor. Couple if month ago They used Meme coins label and now Metaverse and NFt.
I am shock why investor choose this Kind of new project without any knowledge if their team,Backers, partnership. Onlu Metaverse Name and Web is not enough to be success un market.
There are top class Metaverse Project already available in market which are already listed in top class Tier 1 exchange, then no need to test new project.

Sad story mate, and I'm sorry for you, from your experience we can also learn here, thankyou.
Yeah that's why I don't like the new meme-based coins that are hype at the moment. I'd rather be patient in holding large coins with little profit than investing in companies like the OP mentioned above, its too risky because obviously we don't know their credibility.

The truth is scammers are getting good on their game of scamming people, a look at the website the @op present will wow any new and old investor into thinking the project is legit, they spend money designing the website and making it look worthy of a top project, unfortunately it was all a big scam, reason why it is important to keep learning and understanding the signs to look out for in a project to determine if it is authentic or just a well design scam project, it is always devastating to invest in a project that end up rug pull on the investors, another reason why it is advisable not to put all you have in one project especially new ones with no credibility.

Ouch, that has got to hurt. But don't worry man, just see it as an investment in learning more about this industry and not as a loss. You are not alone and some have even lost thousands of dollars through these scams and don't even learn to be cautious. Don't be like them, learn from this and get back what you lost and more by being smarter with your investment plans from this day onwards. While shitcoins are shit, these shitcoins can be a good gold mine if you play your cards well. Do research before investing and avoid investing huge amounts on shitcoins or any startups regardless of what you find. Just a little percent of your total capital for any shitcoin is good. Since they tend to shoot up fast. Some even go beyond 1000x. Anyway, good luck on your future endeavours and sorry for your loss once again.

I'm sorry for the bad experience you had and I hope we can learn from your experience not to get scammed.
More and more projects can fool us today and it is only by doing some thorough research that we can do to find the right projects that can be profitable in the future.
It may not be easy, but we have to do if we still want to invest in new projects so that we don't get fooled by fake projects.
In addition, we also should not spend a lot of money on investing in new projects because we do not know if the project will succeed or stop in the middle of the road.

Can't you judge it from the name of project? The first time i heard the name of project from you and my impression is if that was a scam project. The name itself will represent anything about the project. So many scammers are using non sense name. You're loosing caused by the dev was pumping its token use the funds that raised from the sale if there was a sale. Can you tell me whether the dev was deing a public sale before? The dev will be doing this after they got what they targetted. it seems like you are getting trapped by the scam project again. You must remember that never try to invest in the random project like that. I never heard this project before.

I'm sorry for you, but it's also worth looking back at why you believed in things like this in the first place.
What is your compelling reason?
At first glance, it's no different from other copied products on this market and now in this space, new projects are easily created but you should think that products that a high school student understands about Programming can also help create these. So blame yourself and see it as a lesson to not repeat those mistakes.

The name of the project itself says that it is a scam project. Why do you think they named their project "Mark" and "Meta"? Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook Meta? They are using all those hyped terms to attract users and then scam them. Oh, and don't invest in any new projects that has the term "finance" on their project. All those projects are scam.
And you already saw those red flag, then why still invest? To try your luck?

at this time it is very, very difficult to avoid fraud, especially fraud in new projects and at this time the fraudsters have had a very accurate trick they made a very convincing project without any blemish for us to say the project is a scam,

A hard lesson learned by the OP on this new hype.
Some people can really make a very comprehensive project, where you won't think that they are just here to ripped off users.
It may be the first for the OP, but it may not be the last that you will encounter this kind of scamming.
It will be in different form, not in meta hype but another hype. This is why many people are losing hope in this market once they got screwed and it is their hard-earned savings, some are even getting a loan just to buy the hype.

Probably not the last time. He may be encouraged again, but the fact that he experienced this kind of scam, he will be more furious

in choosing assets to invest his hard earned money. Investors who mistakenly choose the project that they've invested their money even they

have done doing their homework, remember that scammers are also doing their own research on how to allure and make their prospect to

believe in the sincerity of their works.

Every loss will be painful and angry at once to the site and also ourselves. Regret is there, losing money and also trust.
I am not really familiar with the site, that is new enough. Have you understood why you cannot sell again? Not tradable or the feature is still not active? or not listed?
If that is totally a scam project, I agree with @Upgrade00, you can make scam accusations on the section. PLease give also the details of the scam, the evidence, and also all information about the scam project.
This will probably help you to at least share your experience with other people here and warn us if there is some misunderstanding from the site, they may reach you, and others.
But, if this is a total scam, just let it be a very worthy lesson. Sometimes, we cannot differentiate the scam and legit projects because they look very promising and convincing at once.

making money with crypto, or altcoin, unfortunately, is not easy as it may seem.
this is probably an aspect of our industry to take into account. it seems easy but .. it is not!
losses should not be painful. you have to invest only what you can afford to lose.
I don't want to lecture you, but I hope that what happened to you is an example for you in life and not only related to crypto life ...

Such experiences teach us always a bitter lesson not to repeat the same mistake again and be more cautious next time while investing in any project. I feel sorry for your loss but most of us have also been scammed many times So due diligence is always very important while investing.
It thought people lessons but it is very possible for someone to make such mistake again and again, what is most important is that people should first not be greedy and try as much as possible to avoid scam and money loss, but some people just do not have the knowledge and experience to avoid scam. That is why it is good for us to learn and read everyday how to avoid such fraudulent people like that. We should stop to just go into new trends without learning the risks involved. This is just the beginning of metaverse scam, some other people will still be victims of metaverse scam as they lack the knowledge of how to avoid such scam.
Being scammed is something that we can't avoid but we can minimize from falling it if we are always making a thorough research before we decide to invest. And in fact, a good researcher has always an edge when it comes to decision making as they create wider vision and views than those who often lack of knowledge and comes to the market unprepared. So OP, just keep investing. Losing is always part of it but make sure next time that your profits will overcome your losses in the past, that is more important.

This shouldn't be happening in crypto, the more of this kind rugpull news we get the more it get newbies to want to stay away. And you don't have to always learn the hard way, the amount of money you lost although may not be too big but I'll say it's too much to invest in such a project.
Before investing in a project we have researched thoroughly on especially those selling on Dex, I'll advice everyone to buy less than $10 worth and try to sell to know if you can actually trade it, I think that should help reduce losses.
I think we should also consider that good projects nowadays are already rare to happen and that too good to be true projects are definitely pure scams. However, as what you said OP you there were no suspicious activities listed in the project and that made you believe that its legit. But knowing that its a still a new project, you should have due diligence in looking for any unreasonable or suspicious activities and you should have invested just a small amount that you won't regret if the project ends up as a scam. Maybe this experience will be a lesson not to trust easily as scam projects tend to look like more legit projects than the real legit ones.

you should just stick with platforms like binance and the likes if you really trying out investing, this kind of shitcoins, either gonna be being manipulated so hard and even gonna turns out and become rugpulls that just happened to you recently.

this feels so similar with the squid game altcoins scam that couldn’t be sold after the token price has reached some point and after that the rugpulls is happening. regardless, you could only regret it because as you know once you invested into shitcoins and it becomes a scam there is literally nothing you can do with it. actually the main reason platform like coinlist exist solely for preventing this kind of scams that frequently happened even more specific in BSC that is already heavily infested by this kind of scam.
This gives you a less of you must never ever deal with the scam token like that. You must not complaint because if you have invested in it that means you have dealt with the risk

Well, most of us who are in crypto made a few similar mistakes... we invested in some projects we believed, but they turned out to be scams from the beginning! I agree with you, it's a bitter lesson... but it's a lesson and we should learn from that, every experience counts in the end! Of course, some of us made more than one mistake, but in my case, the last few mistakes were minimal, never invest too much in something new and unproven!

2. Telegram channel was restricted, no one can make comments or send messages, another red flag that I don't get suspicious over

it was sorry to hear that but sometimes, someone had made some sacrifices to test the credibility of the project and it was you who is unlucky and become one of their victims. Even though we are too careful in choosing projects to invest in, doing research, and everything we do just to be sure that we are in the right investment. But somehow, some scam projects are also able to show that they are reliable and they gain trust from us until such time that we surprisingly found out that they are living us and scamming us.

I'm sorry to hear about what happened to you. It's really frustrating and heartbreaking to lose your funds that easy but still serves as a lesson for everyone. Just be skeptical next time and try to do research before releasing or investing huge funds. Don't worry because you could still look for better and legit projects in the future, just be wiser.

I know that feel bro, My 1 advice is never try a coin that you never know about its development, Always DYOR. choose a coin with clear fundamentals such as the Top 50 coins at CMC it is the best choice and the safest investment. Developers run away, All members BOT and LP Locks who are suddenly unlocked without notice to investor is a way for scammers to use their tricks. be careful brother

Yeah and this has been warned to many times and be careful with any new project. Sometimes the most difficult thing is to know which was the scam project among the project that looks like legit but it acts as a trap for the investors by scammer. that means you have been lured to join in the project that looks like a legit project but it's a trap caused by you are loosing your money.
1. The price of this token kept surging and surging, there was no retrace or whatsoever which to me is a red flag, the whole chart was a straight line aiming for the moon.
The scammer itself was pumping the price of token.

sorry buddy for your loss,
Be careful in the future if you want to invest, because there are many scamers out there, many more in the digital world that we never meet eye to eye and meet face to face.
The web is really interesting at first glance to make people believe all of this, but if I see the telegram community is limited I will not return to the group and leave it without returning, let alone invest, I will look for a community whose team is clear and can be invited to work together

I am sorry for your loss. Hopefully, you will recover your losses from another project that will not scam you. You have your lesson, and I hope you don't invest in an unknown project that you really don't know. You already saw that the website could be a good looking website to invite more investors to invest in their project, but unfortunately, they scam all of those people, including you. You don't need to invest in a new project instead, search for the project that already proves good in the market so you will not get another scam.

It should be suspected, the telegram channel was restricted so as not to open conversations that exposed the fraud that had been planned so that members of the community who had expertise in address contract investigations could not comment because they were not allowed to post if the channel settings had been restricted.

dear bro, my suggests are following:
1.You should use some tools for deep survey about your interested project. For me, I am using similarweb to check website traffic.
2. Definitely you should check team. Must be open
3. Had better it is backed by some famous investing org.
4.. If you are sure everything is ok, just use your spare money to invest.

I am sorry to hear that you have been victim of a scam Op. I have never heard about this project before and i have not really looked into it if it really is a scam or if you did somethign wrong but it definitely sounds like you have been ripped of here and i have to say that 430$ is a serious amount of money even if you are from a first world country. I already said this before but i really think that the whole metaverse hype is slowly but surely reaching it's height or is maybe even beyond that and this is the reason why we see so many new metaverse projects out there at the moment. Of course only a handful of those 100's that are launching now will be successful in the end, so be careful.

That's the reason that i avoid investment in new metaverse projects. Why do we need to experiment and invest in new projects when we already have many good metaverse projects like Mama or Sand.

I guess you are referring to mana there, yeah, there are many already well known metaverse projects in the market for anyone who is interested in investing in the ecosystem instead of looking for something new, but the difference between investing in new than already existing project is that with new projects you have a high chance to x10 or more than buy mana or sand at current price (although very risky) but chances of huge profit is high, i believe this is what most investors consider before joining this new projects.

I feel sorry for your loss, unfortunately this field has become full of scam projects especially in games and metaverses, it is not always easy to find red flags in such projects because they are very professionally made by scammers, they seem to learn from their past mistakes and it is not easy to detect their scams, recently I saw many scam projects that appeared on Coinmarket and they collapsed within a few days. Anyway, the site is still working so far and the token is in circulation, but its price collapsed and the liquidity is little. You should try to sell your tokens at the best price in order to reduce your loss.

imo it is much safer to invest through some of the known launchpad we have in the space this days, reason why is most of the vetting of this new project are already being done by the launchpad you decided to use, so you can a little bit be assured you are not walking into a straight scam, the only down side of this launchpad is you must hold their tokens and be in a tier to participate, still way better than taking unnecessary risk. i hope you will recover your loss from another reputable project soon.

There is no loss that is not painful, this should be a lesson for you so that the same incident does not happen again. The risk of losing money is very big here, especially in projects that are just emerging, the risk is many times compared to projects that are already running.

No doubt that this is a rug pull but as what can I see on the poocoin, There's a different buy & sell happening on that token meaning the token smart contract allow selling too. Are you sure are using the right slippage percentage when you are creating sell order on pancakeswap? It seems that the coin is trading properly and the recent dump is typical pump and dump of new shit coin in BSC. Maybe you should try to increase the slippage percentage so that you can sell your tokens and recover some amount of your investment. Typically you should use 15% slippage on this kind f shit tokens. Sorry for your loss.

Sorry for you loss, ICO, DeFi, NFTs and now Metaverse, as there are new trends, scammers will look into it to make sure they find ways to see victims to scam, that is why it is very important for us to be very careful of new trends because the scams about new trends would have happened before some other people that do not have experience about scam will learn. You can try to always check coinmarketcap or Coingecko, any coin or token not listed there should be considered as scam.

Oh, so sorry about your loss mate. A lot of scam out there looking so clean that you suspect nothing. This is a lesson for all, One thing is, always do due diligence before investing in any project. Ensure that the telegram group is lively and there's actually a buy and sell order.
Anyway, even with all our carefulness, one can only pray not to fall a victim of scam.
As i open the site of the project, i was somewhat amazed of how the developers designed it. From there, its already a plus factor. But if you do your due diligence and check if there is transparency of the project, you will start to create some doubts. Once you start to hesitate but still insist that the project may succeed, then start investing with a small amount so that if the project end up as a scam, you will never be totally in loss and disappointed. So maybe this experience will bring lessons for you and by next time, do not trust easily from those new and unestablished projects as most of them are scams.

That loss should serve you a lesson. The good thing is, for every painful loss, you are learning and that will be your reason to become more vigilant and careful the next time you invest. The loss is already there and no choice but to embrace it.

It's ok to cry. It's ok to feel regret. It's ok to feel to be disappointed but at the end of the day, you have to move on.

Move forward and become a better investor next time.

These rug pulls are kept on happening and everyone has to be careful with what they invest. People are liking the turn of the metaverse projects and yet, they're not too careful and are too quick to believe with the project's goal.

That's a quite big amount already but not if you're in a first world country. Still, OP you can still recover that in some other ways and be meticulous with projects you invest. When you see red flags, avoid them already.

Sorry man for you lost, better still you have to be careful of the projects you get engaged in next time cus this might end you up on a flat ground, saying same thing like what the naysayers do; "crypto is a big scam and I can't invest in it" according to one of the naysayers that his relation made 17000dolls from crypto in it's ATH as a newbie.. baffling right? Yeah it is!
Go on with it, I'm not always advising anyone to toil with shitcoins cus I don't know thier durability ( though I don't know bitcoins's durability too but atleast, this has been stable for years now..) not some shitcoins that haven't even ensured proper security on getting thier sites spammed, TBD ....deeply sorry for those bucks

It's the risk one has to face on the crypto field and it always looks legit until it is not. That's how unfortunate it could get when you don't know how to weigh the risk. The more reason why, the policy goes that, you should invest only what you can afford to loose. So, when it eventually turns out to be a scam or some investment on a sh*t project, you can still be satisfied with the lose and maybe gain or get compensated from some other meaningful investments.
It's sad you saw them flags and didn't go with it but the important thing is; hope you learnt something out of this lose. If you did, then you might not have lost it all.

It is much more difficult to pinpoint a professional scammers on an altcoin project because they learn and continue to learn from past mistakes. There are dozens of projects that end up in scams where they cost their investors huge losses after investing in them. This is nothing new to the altcoin project although it may be hard to spot at first.

Unfortunately there are still many people who are tempted by altcoin projects because of the promising returns, but you have done something good because you have done some analysis. Now make scam accusation for that project and tell people to stay away from the project that is costing you money right now. Sorry for your loss, it hurts so much sometimes.

Yea, likely rug pull. Dev. skip with the fund they raised. That's the reason why I am not much interested in brand new projects. They just come to the market to pull the money, nothing else. They use the most recent trends like currently, Metaverse trending on. So it's better to avoid brand new projects and choose some potential existing projects to buy on the dip. Sorry for your loss.

I would want to say this don't start your research after things starts to get suspicious, always do this from the beginning, I am surprised about your conclusion on this Post and I wonder why you didn't atleast see one of those red areas from this project before you invested.
I don't know your capital capacity but for me I start with a little that's below $100 then after I am satisfied I get enter again with higher than what I first invested.
Okay, I'm quite of a noob when it comes to such projects on DeFi, how exactly do you conduct research regarding a specific project? What do you lookout for, what red flags could one possibly spot, and how are these determined? Certainly, there's no precise way of being 100% safe, but how do you reduce the risk of getting scammed?

Just a question: the site shows a market cap of only $200K, so if I understand it correctly, it should come as no surprise it's not easy to trade. Are there any more reasons, other than the site being new, to say it's a scam?

Sorry for your loss, almost everything on the internet is a scam and you should treat it as such, that way you will be more cautious about how you invest. If you had looked up the site, you would see that it was registered less than a month ago, and lots of information are redacted, showing no transparency;
