If I read the graph well, we are now in the Capitulation phase, with the october bear trap around 167$, we will probably go under 100$ during the despair phase.

Nick.

P.S. I'm short

MtGox dead. Panic selling also outside MtGox.

The Gox default will spread panic for the whole day, taking the price very very low. Maybe 113.70$ or even lower.

When I first saw the chart that the OP has posted, I was a newbie too and bitcoin was worth about $60--and that was less than a year ago.

Let's not be too harsh on hte OP, he/she still  has innocence. Staring at the chart and figuring out what it means will only lead to the loss of that innocence. I am still figuring out the chart.

Nice! Is there a bigger version of this image?

Here's the original, right out of MS Paint. I resized it to keep it forum-sized. Posting over-sized images is a crappy thing to do.

Wait...what is this? I have never seen this before.

I have been into Bitcoin since 2010 and supported it but after this picture...wow...a new light has shown upon me.

I am selling all of my bitcoins and moving on to penny stocks.

Denial it is then

Denial of the fact that each recurring Bitcoin "bubble" rises to a new height? (except perhaps the summer 2012 "bubble")

No, I just love the way every one gets so agitated every time this chart gets posted  Wink

Ahem,

to get back to the idea of pictures, I did a GIS for "Olde One"

For some reason though, I pictured you with a hat...

Yes, well, I didn't always have a double chin either ... not the most flattering of pictorial representions if I do say so myself, and as for the description - 'the charming smirk of Count Cagliostro–Freemason, con man, alchemist, pimp, and saver of souls' - not quite sure how I feel about that ... it's all rather confusing, and certainly a hat would seem fitting, quite a wide rimmed one at that ...

+1, this is what, the fifth bubble we had? I lost the count, too many bubbles. But wait a moment, the concept of bubble as far as i remember is that "there is ONE bubble, it pop and that's all".... so... zombie bubbles???

Let me add the "june 2011 bubble", from 30 to 2. Clearly once price dropped to 2, bitcoin died and never recovered.  Cheesy

This forum really needs to do something about clueless noobs starting threads.

It seems like 90% of annoying troll threads are started by those with single or double digit activity.

Perhaps a minimum activity of 100 (or even higher) should be required.

Starting a thread with that ridiculous "Main Stages of a Bubble" graph in the original post should result in a loss of at least 50 activity points.

This is the chart of the "stage of a bubble". Now we are at in the Return to "normal" phase. I will buy Bitcoins during the desapair phase and you should do the same.

(If you Google for similar images, you'll see the same patterns in many other finacials bubbles in the past)

Mind the gap!
