Hello everyone, Daniel from PlanBetter here. I'd like to appreciate everyone here trying to help and I am glad De413 sorted it out.

Sometimes users reach to us on our Discord server because they see no payouts, I'd say 90% of the times it's due to an incorrect wallet setup.

Make sure you follow the steps describe in the website as closely as possible and the wallet will be ready to go.

Thank you again!

Thanks to everyone who offered help to me on this issue. I had failed to properly set up my Stacks wallet to stack BTC payouts and am in the process of getting that set-up. My Electrum setup was correct all along. I apologize for my mistake.

A PlanBetter Pool was used to delegate STX from the Stacks wallet. PlanBetter Pool is a non-custodial service
It looks like my "guess" was right... https://planbetter.org/payouts

...
When I got to the "Addresses" tab, there was no "View" tab to click to identify my address. Thus, the "History" tab shows no transactions. Could these proprietary instructions be flawed?  Is it possible that no bitcoin distributed payouts have accumulated and that's why there are no balances seen in the Electrum?
Note that "View" isn't a "tab"... the instructions are incorrect. "View" is one of the menus at the top... on a Mac, this won't be in the Electrum Window itself, but on the menu bar thing at the very top of your desktop (where the "Apple" menu is):

source

Once you open that "View" menu, you should see options to show/hide various tabs like "Addresses", "Coins", "Channels", "Contacts" and "Console":

(note: example is from Windows, as I don't have a Mac to take screenshots on Tongue)

Then, the "addresses" should appear in the Electrum window with the "History", "Send" & "Receive" tabs:

source

In any case, it makes no difference if you can see the "addresses" tab or not... any transactions to any Bitcoin addresses from your wallet should be shown on the "History" tab. If the "History" tab is empty... then your wallet has received no payouts.

Why it has received no payouts is likely to be because:

1. The BTC payout address you originally used was from a different wallet (different seed, or BIP39 passphrase etc)
or
2. The BTC payout address you originally used was from a different derivation path.
or
3.
You simply haven't received any payouts.

When you originally setup your BTC payout address... what address did you use? and where exactly did you get it from? Huh

Or are you actually just trying to get a BTC address so you can start getting your STX Stacking rewards? Huh If this is the case, simply select any of the addresses shown on the "Addresses" tab (I would suggest the first one at the top of the list, labelled "receiving")

EDIT: BTC payout address is auto-calculated

EDIT: For the record... I downloaded the stacks wallet... created a 24 word seed... it gave me the address:

Code:
SP4TP8FS4B91ZKTJBKQYC634K1VBNWHRKASJKVS0

Using the "address convertor" found on "Step 2. Bitcoin Payouts" here: https://planbetter.org/stack It shows my BTC address as:

Code:
1t86Ef6pdC1CLX3Qm7Zi3jQgKPkU691o8

I then followed the instructions to create the wallet in Electrum as specified here: https://planbetter.org/payouts

"Standard Wallet" -> "I already have seed" -> 24 word backup from Stacks + "BIP39 seed" option -> Legacy P2PKH + derivation path: m/44'/5757'/0'

And it is indeed creating the correct address in Electrum:

Thank you for your help as I'm getting a clearer picture of what the problem might be. And thank you for the merit.

No, I have been using the correct download site. I've figured out that my Electrum Wallet is in fact activated, but has no balance.

The tutorial that i was using is from a proprietary financial letter that is titled "How to Access Stacking Rewards From Stacks (STX)" ... A PlanBetter Pool was used to delegate STX from the Stacks wallet. PlanBetter Pool is a non-custodial service, meaning it does not have my private keys and does not hold any of my funds. The bitcoin rewards accrue in a separate address from the Stacks wallet and need to download a bitcoin-compatible wallet to access them ... While stacking my STX, I apparently had derived a Bitcoin address. Because it was derived from my Stacks wallet address, it doesn’t use the standard derivation path for the Bitcoin blockchain. So apparently I need to use a wallet that allows me to specify a custom derivation path. That’s why using an Electrum wallet was recommended. So instructions were given to explain how to create one and use it to access my Stacking rewards. What came next was a set of instructions for Collecting Bitcoin Rewards From Stacking STX which I was following when I ran into my problem.

After trying unsuccessfully to find a reply button, in desperation I sent a message to Bitmover for help.
When I returned to the post... all of a sudden there was a reply button that had magically appeared. Very confusing for this poor newbie.

I think this might be related to your account rank. So i gave you a merit to make things easier for you Smiley

This doesn't sound like Electrum at all. From where did you downloaded Electrum?

Maybe you are using the wrong software as suggested by nc50lc. Just download electrum again from https://electrum.org/

Anyway, I precisely followed Bitmovers instructions regarding the apostrophes and but I get a page full of addresses with no means to view the correct one. My present Electrum account is set up with a user name and password, but there is no way to proceed from this page full of addresses and activate the Electrum wallet... as I don't know which is the correct address.
Theoretically, if you are using electrum, all those addresses are yours. If any of those have any balance you will be able to spend them. You do not have to choose one.

Just click "send" and any balance you have in any of those address will be spendable.

I was using a tutorial for Electrum 4.0.9 while trying to set up 4.1.2 and ran into a hitch. Using a Mac I downloaded the version 4.1.2 as a new user and had gone through the setup to the point of confirming that I had set up my Stacks wallet without a hardware wallet, selected "legacy (p2pkh)",  entered a Stacks derivation path suggested by the old tutorial...
Can you please provide a link to this tutorial so we can get some idea of what it is that you're actually attempting to do and/or follow...

Was it this one? https://planbetter.org/payouts Huh

If it was, and you got as far as seeing the "history" tab, but it is empty... then it is likely that either:

1. Your 12 word seed is wrong
or
2. You didn't use the BIP39 option
or
3. You didn't enter the BIP39 derivation path correctly
or
4. You haven't received any stacking payouts.

My goal is to access stacking rewards of my STX stored on Stacks. Can anyone offer a suggestion of what I can do to resolve this problem?
I would suggest you try the "Stacks" discord server... go here and click the "Join" button: https://community.stacks.org/

Electrum is a Bitcoin wallet, it has nothing to do with Stacks or STX or "stacking".

The wallet should be created after setting up your wallet's password, there's no "full page of address" that will be displayed.

Electrum has Detect existing accounts feature for checking the wallet used. Just click that if you forget the derivation address.

maybe you missing something to ticking BIP39 after putting the mnemonic seed.

You want to withdrawal some btc you have in some old stacks wallet?
I was able to find this tutorial. Did you do that?

How can I withdraw the BTC I've deposited into the old Stacks Wallet?

Important note: These instructions involve the installation of a third-party wallet that is not created or supported by Hiro PBC. We make no guarantees as to its security or functionality. Please proceed at your own risk.

The third-party Electrum wallet can be used for withdrawing your BTC as previously deposited into the Stacks Wallet. The instructions below must be followed using the same Secret Key / seed phrase or hardware device as used to set up the Stacks Wallet originally for managing your STX and depositing BTC from elsewhere.

Please double-check that you have the same phrase or device on hand, then follow these instructions very carefully:

Download and open the Electrum wallet for your operating system from https://electrum.org/

....

Select legacy (p2pkh) for the type of wallet then replace the derivation path value with m/44'/5757'/0' and select “Next”.
Important: You must select the “legacy” type before replacing the derivation path value. Otherwise the derivation path value will revert to an incorrect default and your BTC won’t appear in the wallet later on.

Make sure that this value is entered exactly as shown, with an apostrophe at the very end and without any spaces (between letters or at the end).‍

Apparently after clicking "view" I should be able to select the "history" tab to see a list of transactions showing my distributed payouts and complete creating an Electrum wallet. My goal is to access stacking rewards of my STX stored on Stacks. Can anyone offer a suggestion of what I can do to resolve this problem?
