  Hi everyone,

Was just discussing the upcoming ASICs with family and all that and thought of a unique perspective that us as (let's face it, mostly speculators) should be aware and thankful for.

If BFL and Avalon shipped on their original dates (October or November for BFL, Decemberish? for Avalon), all orders would've probably been fulfilled by now and the network saturated with ASICs.

This would make difficulty probably well above 30M if not higher, meaning our shiny new ASICs would be down to a coin a day, tops, and perhaps a good deal less.  In fact, where GPUs are at about now in earnings potential perhaps.

Now, looking at Bitcoin Charts, the price was an already-then good amount about $12 a coin.  Sure, you'd earn more as the block reward was higher at 50 coins but the difficulty post-ASIC adoption would've diluted the earnings with that.

Thus, what I'm saying is hey, maybe we should be thankful that BFL and Avalon are shipping late.  The price has never been higher and sure, while once ASICs launch we could be in for a retraction or crash, no one knows.  This way, those who have taken the risk and gotten on the ASIC train early may be able to receive the greatest reward for their risk.  Even if we count up all pre-orders for Avalon and BFL, I'm counting "early" as everyone, compared to the tons of people who'll probably join the party in the longer-term future.

So, thank you BFL and Avalon for still being competitive with each other but launching late and on no related note, having the price high enough where those who've shown the most patience will be rewarded.
