1. There is no source of income at the moment. Everything is on papers that is, nothing is guaranteed to work.
2. Good developers wouldn't want to invest time for anything. If the project doesn't work out for whatever reasons, they will not get paid for their time right?
3. You can always fire freelancers, pay them upfront or use an escrow if you really believe your idea will work.
The real reason people won't be interested in working with this guy would be probably because of choice words like these :
I find that arrogant, and when running a startup, or leading it you genuinely have to be a nice person to work with / for - those 5 words up there proves what a douche this guy can be.
