Good stuff!

However, I started about 2 weeks before this comic, and over the course of my GPU mining career, made over $5,000 on a $1,100 investment over the course of a year.  In the FPGA realm, I made over $2,500 on a $6,000 investment in 2 months.  Waiting for the ASIC realm, but I expect it to be quite profitable for me as well.  Smiley

lolz I can't stress enough that Bitcoin mining now should be seen as a way of transferring your wealth and getting Bitcoins for the hell of it rather than actually trying to make money.

Heh had a good chuckle with that. Thanks.

It's been months since entering GPU mining started being a crazy idea. I've been trying to warn people but a lot were very determined.

Since about September it was already completely out of the question for the average person doing a significant investment.

Yeah that's about what many people find

"Wow, I made over $900 in one month!"

should have been followed with..

"WTF! $800 power bill. Gonna take a year just to pay for equipment"

 Wink

Honestly guys 10% return per month is smoking with a capital S

In finance a return of 30-40% PA is regarded as a fraud..so BTC getting ~90% PA is golden  Cool

When the difficulty was under 2 million or the price was >$20, mining was a lot more profitable than it was today.

Cool comic, but why did you have to have the punchline/ending as your avatar Sad. Knew what was coming all along.

Few weeks ago i built my first mining rig (2x5870). LOL.

Yes, that's right, this comic is about you! Incidentally that's the same setup I ordered, which is why I used it in that case. Welcome to the ethernet hanging club.

Mining is an investment.   There are risks because there are costs and no guarantee that the income will cover the costs.

Miners should always keep in mind that mining is a race between all miners.  And everyone can not be a winner.

I image that's what the guy who added 0.7 Thash/s today must be thinking. Timing of this could not have been better  Grin

Lol. I've never mined before, but I can indirectly relate to these struggles through what I've heard real miners talk about.

"The Bitcoin Hangings" are surely going to make the headlines... I already see it coming! This also means more mainstream media coverage for Bitcoin, hopefully attracting more businesses and greedy speculators who will support the economical growth of the currency.

Also, I believe that he used ethernet cables instead of rope to pull this off. Be sure to use CAT6 ones, CAT5e simply doesn't cut it anymore.

Yes! Put your faith in fiat currencies. It's a sure bet. History has proved that.

Who's bitter? Looks like sour grapes to me.

I drew this in Inkscape with my Bamboo tablet (which I hadn't used in years) earlier today. There should be more strips/comics about Bitcoin in general, I think. Especially bitter ones. It's a real comedy goldmine (no pun intended). Criticism is expected and welcome.
