There's no need to launch an ICO just to strengthen their village by gaining funds from it. Japan is a crypto loving country and it has shown on how it is very well helpful to the economy.
AFAIK they have already monacoin for their altcoin and bitcoin as main cryptocurrency. What if all small villages in Japan do the same thing? they will just add to crowded initial coin offerings that will only generate worthless tokens. Most of them will still rely to bitcoin after ICO for sure.

That is good news for the adopters of the crypto currency, it is said that it is being used for some small countries o strengthen their resources and the way of living it will be a successful idea for some countries.

That is quite impressive, and importantly what they were doing is just enriching the community grow with blockchain technology. On each and every thing they were implementing the blockchain technology which makes everything function in an effective manner. This isn't possible with every village right now as truly hard to make each and every people understand about the technology.

I hope that this will become an inspiration for the other villages in that country and also to be an inspiration to other countries that cryptocurrency is not a joke and it is a real deal that they can grab in order to strengthen their economy and have a better future by just adopting, implementing and using cryptocurrency for their transactions and projects.
Exactly. I believe that is the real inspiration, because it brings a lot of different color values. Sure, electronic money is not a joke but a necessity for the financial industry. I believe the community will gradually accept and adapt to it because it has good value for the community.

Wow that's actually kinda suprisingly great. A small village has that much interest of cryptocurrency, and even launching a coin. They're creative and really want to follow the development of technology. Nice to hear that something like that happen, when this moment even many so called modern people being skeptical with bitcoin.
I hope i can see more news like this in the future, and i hope they will be success in their project to strenghtening their economy using cryptocurrency.

Japan is a leading nation in the list using cryptocurrency. There is a lot of news saying that the villages in Japan are using cryptocurrency to strengthen the economy. And today I believed it was true after you shared this news

if all the municipalities started launching their own ICO? Btw, their coins will become Nishiawakura Coin (NAC) for those who have not read the article.
I have heard about their prefectures or watched them in an event that educates viewers about how the village is a good place and a cultural village (although Japan gives importance to their culture). Now they will launch their own tokens that are also aimed to be used globally. There is no release date but this can also be an interesting move to make other cities to see ICO and do it yourself.

This one is good note for everyone to step into crypto currencies. Seeing the prospect of this village all the countries and government need to learn from it on how it is increasing their economy with their new technology and innovation with the help of blockchain technology. Everyone need to really appreciate this kind of initiative from a small village that too without the help of the governments of any big financial institution.

The way of the village is very good. They know to make a difference. And they have succeeded so much as the unthinkable. This further demonstrates the crypto market is a huge potential. It will be applied to everyone in modern society.

A small japanese village named, Nishiawakura is making their economy much more beneficial with the help of cryptocurrencies by launching a Initial Coin Offering. I think it is a best way to help some small villages to grow up with really good profits and also it might bring the cryptocurrencies some more close to legalisation.

The village is home of approximately 1500 villagers and and they unveiled their plans to launch a regional initial coin offering.

So are they creating thwir own currency outside the national currency (which isnnot much of a problem), but creating a currency that can serve only you as a community might be risky. If the crypto space doesn't gain any interest in the coin, it might not be worth much and by the way, they'll still need to convert to fiat befire they can spend their off borders.

Economy is strengthened when more goods and services are produced, if someone gets investments it doesn't mean that they will succeed, their project may fail for many reasons and there will be no benefit for the economy. Also, I think that fact that villages and other unrelated entities are jumping on the ICO bandwagon only shows how immature and irrational the crypto sphere is, it's absurd that everyone and their grandma wants to have their own token or coin.

Also I think that, this Village can succeed because they are not many, and when it is small amount of people they are easier to agree one with another. When we have big city, we can never be agreed on something completely.

Yes it is a good news, It is possible to think that crypto has a good impact to those community or even in a small village, I hope it can be applicable world wide.
especially if they already know the crypto before the year 2017, surely now already rich. as we know by 2017 bitcoin soared to become world trending topic, so many new people are interested in this business

Small villages can be found in countries with low levels of economic development. Therefore, these countries benefit from the use of cryptocurrencies. Because these countries can not provide a decent life to their people have to survive. People provide for themselves. This ensures the flow of capital into the country. This is especially beneficial to the people.
Yes that is right, som time a small village in a country give good financial support to their country i think that if people from a country are using bitcoin for different purposes and for trading and investment, i think that they can really improve the economy of a county, in my country still bitcoin is very new and still most of the people do not know about bitcoin investment.

It's a good idea but crypto doesn't automatically generate wealth, there needs to be demand for the coin. In a small village they need to give a reason why people should go to the exchanges and purchase it for use. Will it be to buy unique local delicacies or just an alternative to yen

Well bitcoin is already an alternative to Yen isn't it. It might be a small village as per Japan's standard, but I think there's more than that. I did try to look at the website and have it translated:

Quote

Nishi Awakura village is a municipality where about 1,500 people live and forests occupy about 95% of the village's area.

In the "major merger of Heisei", while most of the surrounding local governments accept mergers, in Nishiiakura village where they chose the way of independence, we aimed to create a sustainable community by revitalizing forestry that lost sight of the value as a regional resource , In 2008 the "100-year forest (mori) concept" is set up, we are actively working on the sixth industrialization of forestry, from logging to processing and distribution, and "local venture school" which is a migration entrepreneurship support project It was. In addition to improving the economic value of these regions, we are also making efforts to achieve the sustainable development goal "Sustainable Development Goals" (common name: SDGs) adopted at the United Nations Summit as a development target of the international community .

Through these efforts, a lot of local ventures have been born in the area. And people gather around the local venture, a new ecosystem is born, and various possibilities are realized there.

In order to accelerate this trend and create "region" around "people", we will realize the issue of unique currencies based on block chain technology and the formation of token economy accordingly.

https://nishiawakura.org/

From paper it looks like their goal is really nice. They needed money to create a sustainable growth on their village. But I guess the local government can help them realized their goals. We all know how financially Japan is Maybe just a simple call from the government will do and no need to go thru this ICO thing. Just saying.

People are used to only have national currencies printed by governments but in the past there were regional currencies that were used only in certain regions of a country and even some towns had their own currencies as well, with cryptocurrencies now becoming more widely adopted there is the possibility for small villages to create their own smart contracts and their own coins, and through very small icos they could get funding to create projects in their community, so it seems cryptocurrencies are already changing the way people perceive the economy and that is a good thing.

The surprising thing about this is that the executive government of Japan has allowed this bold move as even though they have stated that it is there way of moving away from the centralized system. Although I am still skeptical on how this move will affect their economy as certainly they are also the ones buying their own coin, one wrong buyer who has control can certainly affect the price of NAC. If this is their way of keeping up I think they have the wrong idea of ICOs as certainly they have other things to improve on.
Really wrong idea of ICO as far as I am concerned. I am still trying to picture what benefit anyone who is trying to be the part of the ICO stands to gain, what they intend to make use of the crowd funding for and how is it not going to end up centralized at the end of the day. With the way it sounds, it is more like using the ICO space to raise some charity funds for the small village to improve their own economy and I am still trying to wrap my head around how this ends up playing out.

It is a brilliant move, but we also have to understand the usage of the fund, how the small village intends to make it beneficial for her and some other factors as well. On the other hand, it is an interesting thing to see how the cryptocurrency space is evolving by the day and how each government is trying to see ways in which they can benefit hugely from it.

One way or the other, we are moving higher and this is just a start. I really still would not mind trying to get more details on this anyway as nothing much was stated.

Quite a good start for developing this system, crypto can lift economy if being used correctly and will be adopt by people who really care with the system, I see that this village might gain lots of supports coming from outside investors if they really provide good marketing and clear road maps, planning this type of project might be hard but if being successful they can be the good example of economy being lifted by blockchain inspired system.

How do you mean scam ico are better for most people? Do you mean some people would just open their eyes and invest their money where they are sure they won't get their money back? I don't understand why that could be reasonable thing to do.

While this does seem interesting on the face of it, it seems futile to me. Why run an ICO, and who the in their right mind would invest in it? I chalk this up to the ICO market being oversaturred and this example seems to be proof of that. Honestly, what will they offer the crypto space ask yourself this.

This example shows well that the technology is universal. And another impetus to the fact that despite all the prohibitions technology will grow and develop. Japan would not have allowed such decisions to be taken within the country if it had not been ready for them. I do not envy those countries who do not understand this and forbid it. You will end up at the end of the list of economies.

Yeah, it is really very interesting news and what is most interesting about it all is seeing the real life usage of the crypto space within the governmental system. As we keep seeing real life cases like this, there would be more chance for other government of some countries to start seeing the great opportunities that abound in the cryptocurrency space. One thing that is still a bit blinding to me is how they intend to utilize these funds as that was not explicitly stated.
I heard about the same experiment in Russia. But I do not see any positive results from such experiments. It's very important to me. It seems to me that any cryptocurrency can not have a positive effect in a limited space. Bitcoin has become as it is only because it has received worldwide support. The cryptocurrency market is so dense now that it is very difficult to find a place for new projects.

In my own opinion, cryptocurrency can really help an entire country to improve their own economy, if cryptocurrency will be legalized by the government then there will be more people who can actually have their own job and being a jobless is not a problem anymore since you can become a trader or advertiser of an ico.

A village that ran Initial Coin Offering to secure funding. that sounds weird enough to me. Anyone able to explain how the society and the village able to get benefit from it. And what exactly the use of the Coin?
They say that "All the funds that the village manages to gain through this ICO will be used for carrying out further business development in collaboration with the village itself."
I'm not quite sure what these business activities will look like. Perhaps, forestry? some cultural events? "green economy"?
I would love to read their white paper or a roadmap, but, unfortunately, the website is in Chinese only.
I wish they would translate it into English at least in order to attract more curious people..

I hope that they at least have something interesting that they're going to do with their ICO instead of just kicking another shitcoin into the market. It's starting to get boring when it seems like every second coin is just some copy-paste under a different name. At least make it something interesting in the sense that it relates to their local industries - meaning forestry, according to the article. It doesn't have to be fancy, just something better than a general token that'll be forgotten about.
That is the idea indeed. Because I really do not see the point of an ICO without having something succinct to do with it. Although, not much detail was given in the article, but in the end, I will actually love to see how this would play out.

This is a bit new to me though, with a small village trying to strengthen its economy with crowd funding, but at the end, it is all about how they intend to manage the funds, what they intend to use it for, the part of the sector in the village they wish to use it to strengthen or at the end like you have mentioned, it won't just be another shit coin or token in the market.

I am a little bit disappointed they are going to do it the ICO way, I think cryptocurrencies are really beneficial to the economy at every level as a complementary/different money than fiat and I think there are so many different ways they could have introduced crypto like an airdrop for citizens, establishing partnership between established cryptocurrencies and small businesses/shops there, facilitating payment with crypto for local taxes and for everything in this local economy... But well, I wish them success however, as they are among the first to try it, who knows  Cheesy

This is a bit new to me though, with a small village trying to strengthen its economy with crowd funding, but at the end, it is all about how they intend to manage the funds, what they intend to use it for, the part of the sector in the village they wish to use it to strengthen or at the end like you have mentioned, it won't just be another shit coin or token in the market.

read the opinion above I feel more stable with the future of crypto, legality and sensitivity to the future has been read with mass movement even though it is still a small village scale but it can be ascertained the blessing of japanese government, I am very happy to read the article and I hope fore there which can be more than that and I still believe in the existence of bitcoin as one of the top 5 coins in the future, with bitcoin position which should not be top position but still in top 5 altcoin, with btc fixed belief as mother of altcoin, may be useful and successful for We all

The idea sounds really appealing for the community, but has pros and cons. If the balance of the town is active, then the economy will flourish even further due to the stronger coin value. But the cons might be even stronger, as some malicious communities might jeopardise and dump the value for any silly reason. Like medieval towns in their own rights which water supply was blocked. They died all soon after.

Well, what is their intent with the cryptocurrency after collecting funds from ICO? I understood from the article that main purpose of the ICO is "securing funds" for a forrest-depending village. However, cryptocurrencies are about technology and adoption. If they don't plan a real world use case for the coin, it is simply making money out of thin air.  Sad

this sounds good but isn't it too risky to tell the world that they are in crypto? they will be identified, being a villager is narrower than that of being a country, but oh well, at least they can influence other villager or country all the more in pursuing bitcoin to be well known and well accepted by many. good job.

it is a very good idea for a country that legalizes bitcoin, if all countries have such a policy. maybe the countryside will be better organized and have a pretty good economy.
the longer legalized bitcoin in a country, the less profit will be gained. so Japan will become a prosperous country in the future with higher btc prices. and villages in japan we can make an example for immediate investment btc

How is that going to strengthen their economy? Most ICOs these days are now regarded as scam, so not everyone is interested in putting their money in ICOs. So these people are going to find it difficult.

And I don’t really fancy the idea of relying on cryptocurrencies to strengthen the economy of a country, while there are many other way much better ways that you can make use of just farming. Farming can help them go a long way than cryptocurrency can do. Just my own opinion.

An interesting breakthrough, that way, people in a village can manage the economy independently without having to expect help from the government in the country so that people there can improve the economy without having to rely on fiat fiat. Hopefully the community plan in the village can be done and become a success and be an example for the villages that want to follow their plans.

this is good news, indeed sometimes the change comes from small things, so it may also happen to crypto, this is a good strategy where crypto grows from a small environment, because sometimes success begins with small things, this can be a motivation for countries that have remote areas where the economic equity very difficult to apply where the economy is accustomed to concentrate only in the capital city of the country that trigger large-scale urbanization flows, this good idea is really a brilliant solution, but behind it all the necessary cooperation from the government which means that legality is necessary, means of support, internet access that must be considered because it usually becomes the biggest obstacle when we talk about developments in the village that sometimes very minimal means and lag in the education sector

Yeah very interesting step to further help and improve the economy. Japan has it's way of treating crypto as their priority most especially investors as it is a decentralized asset and I know that Japan would becoming the worlds  first to fully adopt crypto most especially Bitcoin. If other villages arround the world would make such move then I think  crypto will be a big thing and blockchain technology will be used in different purposes and there will be a chance that government will legalize it for convenience.

Interesting fact about this village. I cant imagine someone came up with that idea and it is going to work just fine because thats the unique plan and if all the villagers are supporting this type of ICO for their own benefit then surely it will work with full solitude! People know that they are raising the funds for their own good and thus making it even solid project. If there is more organic crowd or investors then such projects will no doubt get hiked very fast. I think I will watch more news about this as to know what exactly would be benefits and can we get in to support it as sponsors or not.  Smiley

It's interesting how the people think about ICO, but it need more realistic usage of ICO, if the ICO being launched without a proper foundation then it can make the people lose money and the coin will be useless, and I must say its a bold move to create this kind of ICO, but I am quite pessimistic that the coin could succeed, and rely on decentralised currency to strengthen village economic seems a bit dangerous

The Japanese government's attitude toward cryptocurrency is positive!
They develop their own economy through cryptocurrency!
But this small Japanese village, without any technical support and financial support, released ico. I think it's hard for anyone to participate in their project. I think this project will fail!
I think it will prosper because Japanese people and the government is  in full support of cryptocurrency, while if this village introduced ICO in their own, the people will support, during selling period, and the community project will prosper by means of crowd financing even internationally.

Dont expect for bitcoin to interfere with this kind of scenarios because it wont really be considered or to be part on what they are planning to.
The thing i do like is their motive on making such ICO, their target to enhance economy wont really be bad but the thing hesitates me anytime is who would be the one to handle such thing? Government? It would be still pointless if thats the case.

As happy as I was with the initiative being taken by the village in harnessing the potentials that ICO and crypto currency can offer in general, its was short lived by the article which was not detailed enough for anyone who is out to get succinct information for decision making rather than being referred to another site to know the basic details on what the project is all about. Raising ICO is really not the problem as it can be regarded as crowd funding but what matters is what the fund is to be used for and the return that is expected by those who believe in the project.

The article didn't state specifically what how the amount generated will be applied neither did it make mention of the expected returns. For me I would be a little bit skeptical because for a village with 1500 villagers whose primary source of livelihood is forestry, I won't be surprised if white collar consultants from the big cities are the ones behind the ICO using the community as a cover up to have a working project.

I have heard about their prefecture or watched it in a show that's educating viewers on how that village is a well place and cultural village (though Japan is giving importance to their culture). Now they will launch their own token that also aims to be used globally. No date of release yet but this can be also an attractive move to make other municipals to take a look at ICO and do their own. What if all of their municipalities started to launch their own ICO? Btw, their coin will be Nishiawakura Coin (NAC)  to those that haven't read yet the article.

Reading the title seems unbelievable at first,, but knowing that this small village is located in Japan then my doubts turns into admiration.. ICO might not be my favorite crypto ever since,, but to make it used for this cause is amazingly interesting..

I do adore such move and camaraderie on each person living and part of this effort to make a change and to have a better economical status of their village and for each villagers financial stability.. A possibility that only japan can do,, as of now..

No release date as of yet,, but I will wait for update soon..
