I just did a test run and it works wonders. Hopefully it doesn't make certain threads not show up in the results at all.
The results only wouldn't show up if the thread starter intentionally added Re: in the post title, but by default, Re: only appears when someone is replying to the thread and not in the OP.

Farewell, Leo. You will be missed!
That's an excellent piece of advice and I didn't know about that. I just did a test run and it works wonders. Hopefully it doesn't make certain threads not show up in the results at all.

If you were to just enter "lightning" as your search term with no other changes, Ninjastic.space would return over 36.000 results. Adding "-Re" at the end of the term significantly lowers this number to only 1.500 something. I will remember that.

Thanks for taking care of it so quickly TryNinja. I just tried it out and it works as it should. I especially like it in combination with the Collapsed tab. Zoom out to fit as many threads on the screen as possible and you get a much better overview and easier to use interface.

Cheers!

Here is another alternative Pmalek

Ninjastic space has an option to negate a word/phrase using "-"

For example, if you notice that most of the replies contain "Re:" as part of the title. What you do is just negate the ''Re" in the topic title search options like this;
Code:
Lightning Network -Re

You will end up with only the search results for OPs

They can be specific to that search only, and once you close the tab, it all goes away. Another great thing would be having an option to save those particular filters so that if you want to use the same custom options, you could just load it back up.
This is much easy to implement if ninjastic.space have account to save your custom filters for long run. If its only cookies which I don't think the site saves such data, it will be only good for a certain amount of time or will end after you close the tab.

This may call for a separate type of search.
Ninjastic.space now searches for posts and it obviously returns posts. It's good when you look for a certain information, especially if it's part of long topics.

So imho what you are asking for is another search type (either another entry, either another parameter) that returns only topics.

But, what if you start another search and what you are looking for is in the search results you initially prevent from reappearing?
There should obviously be an option to cancel all custom modifications and go back to the regular setup. The changes you make wouldn't be permanent. They can be specific to that search only, and once you close the tab, it all goes away. Another great thing would be having an option to save those particular filters so that if you want to use the same custom options, you could just load it back up.

I think you have a better chance if you post this in Ninjastic.space's topic.
I will just tag @TryNinja in this post and hopefully he will see it when he gets around to it. if not, I will post in his thread.

Without knowing anything about how it really works, I can imagine a "hide topic" or "hide board" tickbox may not be too much work to implement.
Yeah, I suppose that shouldn't be too difficult for TryNinja to add.

I don't expect the forum search to receive an update, so that leaves the forum Ninja. I think you have a better chance if you post this in Ninjastic.space's topic. Hello Leo! You can still win.
Let’s say that I am already familiar with the 3 threads that pop up in the results on the picture, and I would like to prevent them from appearing again. Is that something that could be done?
I tried so hard to understand your topic, but I think this last statement gave me a clue of what you meant.
If you are already familiar with some search results and want to prevent them from reappearing, in order to ease the search process. Then, it's cool to implement. But, what if you start another search and what you are looking for is in the search results you initially prevent from reappearing?

I have several compilation threads made up of dozens of different discussions. My Lightning Network compilation, for example, contains enjoyable topics about the LN. To make such a thread or update it, I have to go through hundreds and thousands of search results. Duplicate threads often appear multiple times in the results, making it even more time-consuming.

It would be so great if it was possible to remove certain threads from showing up in the results. For example: Imagine if the results suggest threads A, B, C, D, E, F… But I remember that I have seen threads B, C, and E before, and I don’t need to recheck the content of those topics. I could just click on a button and have them disappear from the total results or highlight them in a different color or some other form. That would drastically reduce the total search results, and I could only focus on the threads I hadn’t seen before.

Does that make sense? Is that something that could be incorporated in the forum search feature or Ninjastic.space?

Let me show you two examples.
The first one is from Ninjastic.space.

I do a search for the term “lightning” from 1 January 2021 until today. Ninjastic.space finds over 6.000 different results. If I click on “Collapsed”, it’s a bit easier to navigate. But I am still seeing the same threads over and over again. It'd make things easier if there was a way for me to remove the “The Lightning Network FAQ” thread and all the other repeated ones that keep popping up.

Now for an example from the forum search option.

I do a search for “lightning”, and among the results, I see the following threads:

Let’s say that I am already familiar with the 3 threads that pop up in the results on the picture, and I would like to prevent them from appearing again. Is that something that could be done?
