The Saudis hand out billions to create a killer "moderate" mercenary army which has ruthlessly killed thousands of Syrians, now that they´re losing psychos from Washington cia, sorry via London to Riyadh are interested in a "peace process". Right.

The Saudis have so far spent close to $75 billion in Yemen. I am not sure how much they have poured in to Syria, but I suspect that it might be a similar (if not higher) amount. Now remember that their reserves are worth some $650 billion (compared to $775 billion a year and half ago). How long they will be able to afford such spending?

Problem is they're protected by the USA cause of their control over oil price...

So Europe reap what USA sow... As usual since ww2!

If they raise oil prices, then Saudis can support these terrorists for many many years. On the other hand with higher oil prices Russia can also afford testing more new gadgets on these "rebels", and Iran can also "pump" Assad.

The Army of Islam, one of the main rebel groups fighting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, has a new leader, a day after its chief was killed in an airstrike near Damascus, dealing a major blow to the groups that are fighting the Syrian military.

The group appointed Essam al-Buwaydhani, a field commander known as Abu Hammam, as its new leader, The Associated Press reports. He replaces Zahran Allouch, who was killed in Friday’s airstrike that was claimed by the Syrian government. Two other senior rebels, one from Ahrar al-Sham and the other from  Faylaq al-Rahman, were also killed in the operation against the headquarters of the Army of Syria.

don't know why I haven't seen this thread till now , but glad that there are many people here know what's going in Syria
Zahran Alloush used to be supported directly by Turkey and Saudi Arabia
he used to launch his rockets to target the civilians in Damascus , after his death the capital is kinda relaxed now

Allouch, the head of the Army of Islam group, was killed in an airstrike that targeted the group's headquarters during a meeting on Friday. He was instantly killed along with a number of commanders from the ultraconservative Ahrar al-Sham and the Faylaq al-Rahman groups.

No kidding. Army of Islam, now that sounds like something decidedly very moderate and probably almost peaceful, at least to psychopathic politicians and morons who take them seriously.

They are very very moderate.

They perpetrated the Adra massacre in December 2013, in which more than 30 Christian and Shiite civilians were beheaded. And this is the same group which imprisoned hundreds of Shiite women, locked them up in iron cages, and then paraded them through the streets of Damascus.

As soon as I saw the headline I knew this was not an American strike, Obama would not authorize a strike against anyone opposed to the current Syrian government since he supports the rebels.

I'm glad to see the Syrian government of dictator Assad, rebels, and foreign countries all agree to Expel ISIS from their territory. This gives hope that cooler heads can prevail and stop this terrible war.

By rebel group you mean terrorists, who are committing public execution without investigation and proper trial?
