The US should learn to remain in America. Russia doesn't go to Americas. Ninety percent of globals issues and coups are sponsored and/or coordinated by the US when its interest is threatened. Russia on the other hand is contented doing business in Europe and rarely concerns itself with development in other nations.

^^^ Yes! Put a snowplow on the front of their jets and plow right through those drones. Grin

Wagner has plenty of military jets.  I don't know why they don't go up and knock out every spy craft helping attack Russian forces.  International airspace or not.  Prigozen himself was targeted on Russian soil a year or so ago.  British intel agencies were implicated.  If that happened to me, I'd swat their spy aircraft down on my own dime.  That would be especially if I were already completely and personally cut out of the global economy via 'sanctions.'

All Putin has to do is shrug and say 'private enterprise.'  Then laugh in the face of 'international' entities who want my help in capturing the 'criminal'.  Maybe when said international entities do their actual job of investigating any number of things including the Nordstream thing, the development and use of chemical and biological weapons, etc, etc, etc.

Maybe Russia simply wants the drone "brain" to place into some of their automated farm machinery. Lol.

Even with this clear proof that the Russian warplanes assaulted the US drone, Kremlin is still denying that it was an intentional attack. They claimed that the MQ-9 Reaper drone crashed into the Black Sea because of the
manoeuvring by the Russian fighter jets. Reuter reported that the two pilots of the Russian jets have been given an award by the defense minister Sergei Shoigu. If this award or recognition is real, it shows that the Russians are pleased with this military incident. The US might be able to overlook this attack because no life was lost but I don't know how long this patience will last.

I am glad that both of them are smart enough not to escalate this conflict. And at least Russia denies doing anything. Even when it did.
Attacking Nato on purpose would pretty much guarantee that there would be a bigger war coming and no one wants that. Not even the putler's trolls in here.

But i am starting to think that WW3 could be unavoidable. Russia has a history of violating Finnish airspace a lot and now that Finland is going to nato, we actually might drop their planes if they try it again. Russia is pushing their limits and anyone with a brain can see that China won't take Russia's side if they end up starting the war by attacking nato, they have too much in stake if they want to keep on pushing their economy.

The US military has released footage of a Russian jet crashing into one of its drones over the Black Sea.
The US said the damage to the large drone meant it had to be brought down into the water near Crimea on Tuesday.
Russia denied its Su-27 fighter jet clipped the propeller of the drone, but the video appears to back up the American version of events.
It was in the Pentagon's interest to release this video - not least to verify its version of events.

I would have guessed those drones had some self-destruct mechanism, so the enemy won't get them in one piece, I guess I was wrong.

The Russian military have announced that they have recovered the crashed drone from the sea. This is not the first time a US drone have been brought down. It has been brought down in Iran, Afghanistan and Yemen. Most of these drones have self-destruct systems to avoid transfer of illegal transfer sensitive information and technology.

As far as I am concerned, they could announce the resurrection of Lenin and it would have the same credit from me given the massive disinformation effort going on every day and every hour. But yes, as you say, there is not much to be learnt, but still... 100 USD million just for the fun. It is a costly joke to be honest and kind of a statement about the matter of espionage.

That is something I have noted as well since I started to pay attention to geopolitics and the political climate of Russia, for some reason, the diplomatic tactics of the Russian government are mostly about denying any wrong doing and exaggerate the wrong doings of their adversaries to a comical level. When they do not have a way to picture things the way they want for their propaganda, then nothing is said.

If you have taken a look to the Russia based channel RT, you know what I mean.   Tongue

At least, western administrations eventually admit their mistakes when are obvious.

I saw the video today and it was remarkable how that pilot was able to maneuver the jet in such a way to bring down the drone and not damage his own vessel in the process. He could have perfectly just take it down with the weapons, but (as I expected) the Russian government is seeking to get their hands on the technology in the drone.

The plan was to release fuel on the drone and then ignite it, but since I did not see a huge fireball in the video, I assume in the end he went with the easiest solution in the end.

Seems to me from the stories I’ve read that they were trying to capture the drone? It’s hard to tell. I’ve seen articles where they make it seem like this was an accident and I’ve read articles that this was a clever way to gather our technology. Regardless of the true reason, this does appear to be another escalation towards WWIII. I think the only thing left to make it official is for China to choose sides and engage in military action.

The video has already been released and shows an RF fighter jet literally throwing fuel over the drone to down it, without really "downing it". There is some probability of this being intentional as the US cannot search for it there even if they knew where it fell, but also it is quite difficult for the RF to get anything from there.

All summed, it seems that is just the way the RF Airforce shows the finger to the US, by making them loose 100 million (cost of a drone) for fun.

My man, what are you talking about when you say that the Black Sea is a boundary between Russia and the United States?.
The Black Sea is a in-land Sea in the north on Turkey.  Tongue

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Sea

The only sea which is an actual frontier between Russia and USA is the Sea of Bering.

Back on topic, it is kind of reckless for any pilot to try to take down a drone by colliding their airplane against it.
My best guess is that the pilot did not want to completely destroy the drone but rather make it to go down, so it can be captured and used by Russian intelligence to reverse-engineering it.

It could be also a mis-calculation by USA military which made them to claim something which is not actually what happened.

NATO should be shooting down ALL Russian planes in international waters.

Putin is just testing Biden to see how far the US is willing to allow Russia to control Romania's airspace.

I think Russians are preparing the airways for the invasion of Moldova.

Give all before death
This is the current confrontation between Russia and the US and this is not good news to the international community. The American drone was on a routine flight across the Black Sea when these Russian aircraft intercepted it and facilitated its crash. Russia is claiming that there was no contact between its aircraft and the drone while the Pentagon is considering it an accident. But an investigation is still ongoing and the result will be out soon. Now the US is focusing on recovering the ruins of the drone because it might not want the Russians to have access to such a sensitive military intelligence device.

I pray this confrontation will not lead to military escalation between these two world powers because the world might not recover easily from the impact. The US and its partners are avoiding any personal confrontation between them and Russia during this war in Ukraine.

I saw this one too and when both powerful nations are going to do such things, it seems like it's just an easy task for them. where when this drone was flying here in our place for more than a decade, no one can really take that down when they want to do it due to the lack of our resources and also, and that goes the same for other small countries as well.

The point here is, they cannot do the same for Russia or China because they will suffer huge consequences because they just put their resources to wast just like this one. I wonder what kind of respond will the USA do this time, will they just do all talks or they will respond with the same damage as well?

I was just going through the internet and I saw something I will like to share on this forum so people on this forum can be aware of it.

A U.S. drone was hitting by a Russian jet in the black sea and this black sea is a boundary between Russia and US,  but that's not the interesting part of it, the thing here is that a citizen of the U.S said Russian 🇷🇺 denied the accused.
Can this be true or a lie? Here is the link
