Batsonxl you got your cards in 2020 for cheaper rate,
something that's not possible again this year that's why many don't believe you, they thought you just bought the cards, if I remember correctly rx580s are sold for less than 150$ in 2020 from China and no one thought that bull market is coming, the best time to buy GPU are in bear market honestly that's why I don't go all into GPU right now, I've prepared some cash for buying GPUs in bear market

gtx1660 not very good option for mining. get 1660s or 1660ti
You are damn wrong, I have a rig with only 1660, I will drop the Hashrate I'm getting with each cards

1. Galax 25MH @ 47watt ( Samsung )
2. Asus 1660  24.67MH @ 60 watt ( Samsung )
3. Gigabyte 25.6MH @ 54watt (hynix)
4. Zotac 26MH @ 57watt (hynix)
5. MSI 25MH @ 56 watt ( hynix )

Silicon lottery wins on that Galax GPU, really impressive  so I'm guessing that maxsun is just a victim of poor silicon lottery lol, I think OP should try hiveOS there are others using this GPU and their settings are available, just try them out one after the other
Dude its 2021 year 20-25 mhs not interesting anymore. it was interesting in 2016.
To you they aren't interesting anymore, for me it's about the returns as I got this cards at a very cheap price from China, I'm glad I invested money in them and that's 125MH mate, the same hashrate that you can get from a RTX3090, how is this not freaking interesting? And for the fact that I pay less for the GPUs?
Buying 1660 for 300$ is not cheap. 5 cards=1500$.For this money you can get just 1 rtx3080 and get same results with less cards just 1 card. I bought 10 rx 480 8g for 600$+34$ shipping this one i call cheap and it delivers more than 300mhs for 600 bucks. I told many times but people are blind and buying. Do you have plan for those beasts when 125mhs=1$-1.5$ a day? Personally i had experience with 1060 with crappy hynix memories in bear market and got vary disappointed sold them all and got rx instead.
3080 can only do 95MH @ 224watts
4x 1660 can do 100MH  @220watts
5x 1660 can do 125MH  @260-270watt

Bro just because a small card only do 24-25MH doesn't mean they are bad, combinations are better sometimes, RTX3080 is over 1500$ today so 5x 1660 for 1500$ still beats a RTX 3080
Im not saying it is bad card it just expensive for 300$ if it was ti or super ok 300$ but it is normal 1660 like 1060. When i remember 1060 i get angry Smiley if he said i got 1660 for 150$ then i could say ok but 300$ for that card is expensive. i sold all 1060 i had and changed them into polaris 8g cards and happy with and left money because 1060 was expensive than polaris.i have only 2 msi gtx 1070 left. i bought them for 200$ each still im saying it was expensive for that because i could get 2 polaris and get 60mhs instead 30 mhs

Sigh! Can 3080 do 120MH? Cause 5x 1660 should be able to do 120-125MH so how is 3080 better? And more over where are you shopping your cards from? Bring shed light on this to safe use from buying GPUs at a very high price, getting 300MH for 600$ is just to unbelievable, I'd spend money to build 1GH this way easily
Hehe why you guys are so surprised lol? You all look member very old dont you track prices in 2019-2020? Now again everybody is not believing which is good. People buying it because they dont believe one day cards will be cheap again. It is good again people not believing it. In bear market people also dont believed that rx480 will be cost today 400-500$ Smiley if they knew would they sell it for 60$?

How the fuck did you get ten pieces of 480 8gb for 600$ ? From where actually? I bet that's not in this bull market must have been in the past years like 2018/2019, there is no way you can get such deal today but wow that's some good investment right there
I bought from ebay there was alot. sapphire 480 8g with 2 fans and reference design for same price. He was selling lot 5 for 350$. I offered him to buy 10 if he can make 5 for 300$ he agreed and i got all 10 cards for 600$+34$ shipping. It was no so long i bought on ebay march or april 2020.
Later again i bought rx 470 4g mining edition for 65$ but just bought only 2 for fun.
There was so many p106 3g cards for 35$ i wanted some of them too but they dont have monitor output so did not buy that.

Sigh! Can 3080 do 120MH?

3080 = 760 / 8 = 95mhs.

120 x 8 = 960, so, no.

3080 can do 105 max, even 100mhs 24/7 is not safe, that is extrapolating too much already from designed 95mhs, gddr6x is just crazy modified hot binned memory chip, 95 + 9.5/10% = 105mhs.

https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-3080.c3621

Want 24/7 safe mining? go for 3070 or 3060ti or even 6800, do not bother with gddr6x.
Kinda mistake I did when I got my rtx3070ti instead of going for 3070, now I'm stuck with a GPU that only works fairly with kawpow mining, the temp is 57°C and memory temp is 92°C 24/7 mining, wish I can turn back the ends of time lol

3070ti was designed to do 76mhs, 3080ti 114mhs and a 3090 117 out of the box, all 3070ti and 3080ti are lhr, so half of that = 3070ti 38mhs and 3080ti 57mhs.

https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-3080.c3621

Want 24/7 safe mining? go for 3070 or 3060ti or even 6800, do not bother with gddr6x --> 3070ti, 3080, 3080ti or 3090.

If you have an ac controlled environment then by all means, gddrx6 is not bad but then again ac only works when there is a lot of profit --> bullrun, 30 to 50% increase in electricity bills to run a proper setup.

The issue here is that gpu manufactures dont put good thermal pads on memory and if you change it then you are in risk of losing warranty and that is a big thing, paying anything above 500 usd or more for a gpu and then no warranty is a big mistake. Truth is a gpu can stop working anytime and that will affect the roi of the investment as a whole.

I think 1660 is one of the best options for mining today, and 20 MH/s is not very bad, it is visible maybe you want a lot from the card, given that you wrote the norm for this card.Try updating the drivers to the latest version, although I think you did it.
Ofcourse choice is people. i prefer rx 4xx-5xx and rx 5600 rx 5700 loving them. I forgot along time ago with hassles with gtx 1060. for me gtx 1660 is nearly same with 1060. ti and super has gddr6 memory thats why i recomennded get one of those.
The reason why I love them gtx1660 is because of 46-50watt power draw using Trex absolute core clock settings, it works perfectly well and this GPU should not be compared to gtx1060 because 1060 draws more power, roughly 70 to 80watts, their hashrates is same too, 20mh to 26mh depend on silicon luck

Dude its 2021 year 20-25 mhs not interesting anymore. it was interesting in 2016.

Funny is that they brag about 25 mhs on a 600 usd gpu ehhe, last year a rx 580 was 100 usd and gave 32mhs, gpu from 2016, I guess trolls like to buy things when everybody wants to buy and trust me they will sell when everybody starts selling like crazy and we will see second hand 3070 and 3060ti non lhr around 250 usd next year.

Also, many will say next year "i did roi but could not continue mining because profit was negative, so I had to sell my gpu in which I bought for 600 usd for 100 usd", meaning, they did not gain anything in the end plus imagine if they have not sold their coins, that was a double loss ehhe and all the hassle and everything was for nothing.
Exactly. Im not buying anything im not in hurry. if gpus are expensive i will buy coins instead, i bought btc at 36k which made more profit than mining in 20days.The whales or who ever controls this market they are very smart people they know our fear and greed.

gtx1660 not very good option for mining. get 1660s or 1660ti
Where is this coming from?  Grin I have some 1660 bought from China simply because they are cheaper, got them for 350$ each and they do 26MH mining Ethereum, what is your PC settings cos that's what stoping many from reach 25/26MH on this cards
Ahhh how many times im telling this. you are happy with 25mhs because profit is good right now. Also 350 for that card too expensive. I bought 10 rx 480 8g for 600$+34$ shipping. which is doing solid 30-32mhs. im talking about 10 CARDS for 600$.
You will how happy you are when you will start seeing 25mhs=0.2$

I have a maxsun gtx1660 that does nothing over 20MH per second, I mean no matter what config I use - /+ or just simple OC this hashrate won't go over and the GPU also gets hotter than every other 1660s I own, around 66°C while others are doing 53°C max, what could be wrong??

Did you inspect the ratings of you power supply? If you're using the generic psu there's a very big difference if we're going to run it with true rating one.
Cooling system also work out for this one, you should check the hardware side before we can come up with definite conclusions about defects.
One last thing, you should consult from store where you but that bad gpu; it could be having factory defects that needs their warranty.

If you do not want to write your settings and system, then it is very difficult to tell what is wrong.
The latest video card is always hot, and in a rig of 5-6 video cards the temperature difference between the first and the last video card can be 5-7 degrees Celsius.
The temperature can be lowered by additional cooling, but your settings are unknown.

a difference of 2 mh/s doesn't sound too bad, should be within margin of error or you got a bad silicon. that being said, a chinese aib is famous for its bad cooling solution and lack of features (slightly less powerful), so the temp doesn't sound that alarming. if you want to buy chinese aibs card, i think you should look at colorful. a lot of reviewers that i know of seems to check them more regularly compared to other vendors' card.
If you have multiple GPUs at work you will understand that every MegaHash matters, even if it's 1MH calculate that in 10 places it's extra 10MH for you so yes every MH matters, I'm suspecting the GPU to be a poorly built from China but honestly I've heard good stuffs about MAXSUN graphic cards don't know why this one sucks

The 1660 gives approx 22MH/s. Some cards perform bit lower than the expected MH/s irrespective of whatever OC settings. We have to remember that same brand GPU of same model with same memory chip and batch number performs differently.
There are gtx1660 graphic cards that do 27MH using Trex absolute core clock settings but all the same it's all about silicon lottery but the minimum I've seen are 24MH to 25MH if yours is getting 22MH it's the silicon or you don't get the proper clocking

True, colorful GPUs are on par with brands like MSI, Asus and others, I have a colorful rtx3060 that's doing 50+MH on Ethereum mining right now and it's cooling under 56°C I think this is the best brand from China till this day

From the people I know that use Maxsun products they say they are really good products although they admit they are hotter than other brands so their cooling isn't the most perfect one out there. However about the hash rate I don't know what it could be,most probably Maxsun use a memory chip of their own but you should check with GPU-Z which memory chip they are using and if they are using a brand other than Samsung,Hynix,Micron or Elpida this is probably the cause of the lower hash rate you are getting.
