I really hate to have to post this here but I have to warn the community about General Bytes. If you are considering buying an ATM I think you should reconsider General Bytes.
We signed a sales agreement written by GB on the 5th of October 2017. Their sales agreement gave them 20 days from the signing to ship the two machines. The agreement also stated they would invoice us for the machines and we had 14 days to pay the invoice. We had some delays getting our VAT number activated due to the Dutch government having to do research to see if we had to charge VAT. We did not know, nor was it legal for General Bytes to not begin manufacturing until the invoice was paid, the invoice they never sent.
By contract, they had to ship the machines by the 25th of October, they shipped the 20th of November. They used UPS ground who used a contractor. A poor Czech guy with a moving truck who had clearly driven non-stop from Prague to Amsterdam. He had nothing to unload, I provided our flat cart and we manually lifted 108 kg (230 lbs) machines from the truck.
When I began to unpackage the machines, I noticed they had BGST written on them. That's our local competitor. He received our machines and we had his. After a few days of no response from GB, I hired movers to help swap the machines. They finally got back and said they were waiting on UPS to respond.
One machine had been opened and one still had the factory seal tape on it, both have tons of problems. I know GB will try and blame BGST but I've met them and they didn't tamper with them. They couldn't have with the machine that was sealed anyways without leaving evidence.
There was a lock to the cashbox that was installed improperly, it let just anyone open the door! Cleary no quality control was done. The machine that had the tape seal in place had a dead LED strip, GB ignored my support emails so I replaced it myself out of pocket.
Neither machines had been programmed to access the test server, so they would not connect to the internet. No word was given by GB on what needed to be done. We finally got a reply, got the machines online after 4 days of aggravating work. We went through the dozen configuration videos many times, because no one video contains the information you need for any model.
We then had a server issue, their server does not send registration emails, the registration fails. The only way we could fix this is to install our own VPS. We finally get the machines configured and go to load the cash. It only wants USD. The recycler was probably from a machine bound for the US and some poor guy in the US has a machine that will only deal in Euros.
Edit: They made us update our server software to try and update the recyclers, update to the version that doesn't register people but fails to send registration...
General Bytes has made is push updates to our server and machine 4 times, knowing it won't help. I contacted the recycler manufacturer and they said it can only be modified with a PPM Advance programming unit. But GB keeps delaying, hurting our business and our reputation. They have made me drive to Almere 4 times to try and push updates that are impossible, all during a massive snowstorm. I've informed them repeatedly that they have to send someone to repair it, their tech support just ignores it.
I spoke with Martijn, their marketing manager and an engineer. He said they must send a technician to repair the machine, including the main computer. But when I asked when he stopped replying. Their support just keeps delaying. They have clearly put pushing out as many machines as possible above delivering functional equipment.
This long post only touches upon the frustration and negligence of GB. BGST has machines that dispense too much money, giving out free euros but GB has ignored his support ticket. You cannot call their office, they do not answer the phone. You wait on hold for 20 minutes listening to obnoxious music and then are kicked back to the main menu.
I have a 56 email chain with their sales and a 28 email chain with support. I can provide you with the whole chain on request. I've attached a sample of Martijn stating they were sending an Engineer, which they didn't.
