So this will be GPU minable coin only?
Will it be ASIC resistance?

What will be total supply, or will there be any tail emission?

Also, block reward and block frequency?
What will be TPS?
Hi,
Beam Team will release a proper Bitcoin Talk thread soon.
Yes, the coin will be GPU minable. The POW will be a modified version of Equihash, to give GPU miners headstart.
The Beam Team doesn't have ASIC resistance ideology. If an unhealthy ASIC mining ecosystem will be developed, the team or the foundation that will inherit the team role might attempt HF.
Capped emission, with block halving. The coin schedule will be released soon.
1 minute per block, TPS will be 10-20. Layer 2 solutions will be developed later.

Haven't heard about MimbleWimble for a while since it's main developer develop it on Grin since Bitcoin community don't show interest towards it.
1. So, what's the difference/advantage between Grin[1] which created by developer MimbleWimble or existing popular private/fungible Cryptocurrency?
2. You only mention total supply? No information about block time or block production rate?

1. https://grin-tech.org/

Financial and Mining

1. BEAM: Limited (capped) emission, GRIN: Unlimited, fixed emission
2. BEAM: Equihash mining algorithm, GRIN: Cuckoo cycle algorithm
3. BEAM: Financed via treasury, GRIN: Community donations only

Technical

1. BEAM: C++, GRIN: Rust
2. Different internal architecture
3. BEAM: UX wallet at first testnet, GRIN: No UX wallet so far
4. BEAM: Seamless offline transactions, GRIN:offline transaction support through email
5. BEAM: Using a Secure Bulletin Board system to connect between wallets. Grin: using IP addresses
6. BEAM: Multiplatform GUI wallet, Grin: Linux only

Do you plan to hold a bounty, airdrop? I can conduct a trade in the Russian locale. When will it be possible to mine?
A large bug Bounty will be conducted once the Testnet will be released.

What is Beam?

BEAM is a next generation confidential cryptocurrency based on an elegant and innovative MimbleWimble protocol.

Things that make BEAM special include:
● Users have complete control over privacy - user decides which information will be available and to which parties, having complete control over his personal data in accordance to his will and applicable laws.
● Confidentiality without penalty - in BEAM confidential transactions do not cause bloating of the blockchain, avoiding excessive computational overhead or penalty on performance or scalability while completely concealing the transaction value.
 ● No trusted setup required
● Blocks are mined using Equihash Proof-of-Work algorithm
● Limited emission using periodic halving with total amount of coins ~210 million
● No addresses stored in the blockchain - no information whatsoever about the either sender or a receiver of a transaction is stored in the blockchain.
● Superior scalability through compact blockchain size - using cut-through feature of MimbleWimble BEAM blockchain is orders of magnitude smaller than any other blockchain implementation.
● BEAM supports many transaction types such as escrow transactions, time locked transactions atomic swaps and more.
● No premine. No ICO. Backed by a treasury, emitted from every block during the first five years.
● Implemented from scratch in C++ by a team of professional developers.

- Fully functional wallet with key generator and storage supporting secure and confidential online transactions.
- Full node with both transaction and block validation and full UTXO state management.
- Equihash miner with periodic mining difficulty adjustment.
- Bulletproofs, the efficient non interactive zero knowledge range proofs.
- Limited emission using halving.
