Once a man, twice a child!
May some day this noncirculating coins in my wallet be worth anything? May them have a future collectable value as happens with real old coins?
The only thing that can make them worth something would be if the project team decides to resume working on the abandoned project. Otherwise, your bagheld tokens remain worthless and as useless as "ay" in okay. You aren't the only one bagholding in expectations that the tokens will worth something in future, especially with those who are whales in such projects. I've not been able to delete some of the apps whose tokens I hold a lot too. I guess it's the emotional thing of "what if the project comes back to life tomorrow?" kind of situation.

I think that coins that have already fell so significantly, are not likely to return to previous levels. They were abandoned not only by investors, but maybe by developers as well, so I think that coins that have lost their value will not worth something again. Trends mean a lot, and if there are no investors who are willing to buy, it will not grow again any more.

I have been retired from crypto since 2017,

May some day this noncirculating coins in my wallet be worth anything? May them have a future collectable value as happens with real old coins?
why do you care? when you clearly mentioned being retired in crypto for 4 years now? isn't this is some kind of hypocrisy when you totally admit leaving something
then when you suddenly find interest and now bothering people here ?

if you find this market not bringing you any profit the forget about that shitcoin.

but practically you have nothing to lose at all selling or holding that no value coin so why making this an issue? just let it there and move on your life , easy right?

RELAX bro, I'm just a curious human being!

Binance #Smart World Global Token

I also happened to some of those coins that either got swapped and I failed to do the swapping hence they have no real value anymore in the marketplace or the team had been died a long time ago having vanished into thin air. This is one risk in cryptocurrency when you are fully ware or not updated that the team decided to swap for a new token or coin...what you have in your wallet is not worth anything because unlike real world coins that can increase in value because they are rare, unique here in cryptocurrency there is no such thing unless you can convert them to NFT maybe that would gaining some value.

MY QUESTION IS:

Nope! It's better for you to forget about this coins which has been changed to a new name/chain and also made non-used coins out of circulation. That's of no use to be honest!

I am also facing a similar issue with a token whose value was around 1.2 ETH but the developers have migrated to a new chain and they are now denying any help. So it's better for me to forget about these tokens as it has no value.

Exactly, it looks like shitcoin, there are thousand of shitcoin existing without having any value and thousands of shitcoin is launching here and there. When the shit coins that are active in the market till now are almost valueless. There, it is ridiculous to keep hope and future expectation on the coin that has been market-out a long time ago.
Better forget about that and move on with a new project.

You own the pen
It cannot be valuable as the supplies have been circulating the whole world all these years and we are not talking small numbers here because all of the supplies reach millions and billions of coins which will be impossible to have any value in the future as no people will collect it just for fun when they know the total numbers of the coins circulating. I know of some people who have some sort of interest in those coins but they only want those who have not yet been listed in the market that has some legit developers and projects.

As for historical and cultural significance you have a point but we may also expect that some altcoin iteration becomes revolutionary. And maybe someone is interested in collecting the original altcoin, the legacy altcoin that started everything in the future.

There are hundreds of altcoins created each year, and almost all of them die rather quickly, and not a single one of them has became truly revolutionary, not even Ethereum. And then, you should also keep in mind that cryptocurrency is fungible, so even if you have a coin from early blocks, it stops being such when you transfer it to someone. And this thing with putting coins out of circulation does not happen with every altcoin. So, overall the chance that you can get some extra value from altcoin being collectable is astronomically low.

I'm surprised the exchange didn't support the token swap or maybe the team from Dawn didn't asked them too?

Just keep the token as a memento.

...

The only chance I see this happening is if the altcoin or its developers had done some great feat for the crypto community. That's highly unlikely to happen.

As I said elsewhere, Bittrex is famous for not caring about their users. And this has not changed in four years. I know this issue has happened to others because I have read their complains in reddit, telegram, etc. Some of them have asked Bittrex and received no answer. In fact, now Bittrex sends us an email and gives us five days to withdraw our coins because they are going to delete the wallet...

Real old coins are valuable because they are rare and have historical and cultural significance. Altcoins are not rare at all, there's probably millions more of those coins that you hold in the hands of other users. Altcoins also don't have any historical significance, I'm sure in 50 years no one will care about 1ST and thousands of other coins that came and went.

Of course I'm not necessarily talking about 1ST. What happened gave me the idea that rarity would increase as users forget about their non circulating coins, passwords are lost, people dies. In fact, we may only expect that the rarity of non circulating coins increases.

I have been retired from crypto since 2017, however, I received an email from Bittrex Global a few days ago saying that they were going to close a wallet were I had some balance. This was my 1ST firstblood wallet that they freezed for no reason in 2017 when they stopped working with 1ST (that is why I had this balance, because I was not able to withdraw my 1ST back in 2017).

Anyway, when I logged in to my old Bittrex account I realized that the wallet withdraw was available once again... but in the meantime the crypto had evolved from 1ST to DAWN. What is more, 1ST had swapped 1:1 to DAWN a few months ago and non swapped coins were put out of circulation. That is to say, my coins are not circulating and have no value.

In fact, I withdrew to Metamask and realized that 1 1ST < 0.000000001 ETH. Considering gas fee, it is not worth to me to swap my 1ST to ETH.

MY QUESTION IS:

May some day this noncirculating coins in my wallet be worth anything? May them have a future collectable value as happens with real old coins?
