Don't give up is what I say, there is nothing that is going to happen to the price of the coins right now that is going to make me give up on the coins, they have been good, I have made a good amount of money from investing in the coins so far and I know that there is more money to be made from the coins. I am in for the lon run and if you are are thinking about giving up I would advice that person not to, the best is yet to come

Giving up it is not the solution of the problem if you have it it will make them bigger at all. So you must be patient and wait to be succeed here with time.

I was down a lot in 2014 during the bear market, doing several of the things that OP had listed I was able to grind up my portfolio and eventually I am in the green as far as USD value but nothing near the ATH my portolfio made back in december 2017.

You just really have to be patient and find sold projects and try and make good trades, or you could just buy and hold, but being patient is key.

This journey was your learning curve and for me it is inspiring that you still stick around. If you could start from the beginning
I am sure you would not repeat  all the mistakes you made. You could lose everything in crytpo but the lessons you learn nobody
can take from you. With the attitude you have I believe that your efforts will be rewarded if you give yourself another try.

You will be rewarded mate, I feel your journey and I can assure you everything will be fine it's just whales trying to buy from normies at low price to later pump and make him buy his bags. Just don't do same mistakes, always learn and get profits on your journey Smiley

I understand your story since I tried to trade too and failed miserably. I think trading is only reserved for "whales", which make money on ordinary people, who make mistakes. It's like with poker...sure, you can make money out of it, but you really need to be good. In fact, the best among all the participants. At the end of the day, you are making money, because others are not. So yeah, trading is not for everyone and without professional background as a stock broker, I don't think it is possible to be profitable. Unless you are really lucky. But luck, you know, runs out and you can be left with nothing to bet on anymore. But kudos to you for sticking around. Surely this time and energy that you spent them both to learn and engaged with cryptocurrencies will someday be repaid. If not with assets, then with something else. Money is not everything.

BOUNTIES?
Yes, i tried that too. To be honest, I made some money out of this. I am young and some people think I am intelligent 🤓. I would write articles for ico startups and get paid at the end of the ICO. But like every other thing, the space got saturated, many ICOs exit scamming, while others started cheating bounty hunters. My efforts were no longer getting rewarded.

Participating in bounty programs can still earn money if not to be lazy and participate in many campaigns at the same time. I participate in 20 campaigns every month and earn enough for living.

You are well done that you have not abandoned cryptocurrency after such a bad experience. When I began to be interested in cryptocurrency, I did not take risks and not invest my money, I started with bounty companies. Now that I know a little bit about it I can afford to invest.
Of course I like the technology, I'm interested, otherwise I would have given up cryptocurrency. But making a profit from them is also one of the factors why I'm here.

As a young graduate, surviving was the next thing on my mind. I ventured into some entrepreneurial business and was able to raise a good sum of money. I went searching for what I could invest my money into, and I was introduced to cryptocurrency. Unfortunately, I did no research and was a victim of twitter shills and call groups. I would rush and buy whatever coins anyone shilled. Little did I know I was only helping the ‘whales’ make more money. If I can remember correctly, I have over 150 cryptocurrency spread across many cryptocurrency exchanges, and right now, I am almost 97% down in my portfolio.

I had given up. Lost all hope, told myself I would start all over again. I was in despair at how I squandered my first savings. Then a friend told me I could trade my coins to make some profit in order to recuperate my loss.

TRADING?
Terrible Idea. I had no experience whatsoever, I just jumped on the wagon. And to say I lost almost half of my savings is not an understatement. Trading for me was even worse. I almost went nuts. I wouldn't sleep because I was trying to get in a good position. Eventually I would sell at a loss, because of the fear of loosing it all. Lets just say, it wasnt meant for me. Then I gave up on that too.

BUT I NEVER GAVE UP......
After all this, I still did not give up on cryptocurrency. Wondering why? I never gave up because I believe strongly that cryptocurrency is the future. Having had the exposure to read through most of these startups whitepapers, I believe that If they only got a chance to actually put to test their ideas, then the world would come to appreciate cryptocurrency as a whole. Till then, I am keeping my fingers crossed and keeping the hope alive.

What about you, in this crypto winter, what are you up to? What is your expectations at the end of it all? Are you in it for money or for the technology? Share your ideas and maybe I could learn from you.
Truly patience is highly tested in the current trend, maybe you are too hasty to invest and hope that something good you will get, not that easy with a market that is unpredictable, all your mistakes are not market mistakes, campaign the gift of the many scams they use investors to get money, maybe if you are good at analyzing something that is not desirable it will not be felt again, I do not really believe in ICOs and I tend to survive in market conditions like this by taking profits in small bumps or investing for the long term.

The Fourth Generation of Blockchain in DeFi
A person must have some features to be able to work with crypto. Not everybody can handle such terrible market volatility. If you get depressed easily and your glass is usually half-empty, then you'd rather stay away from it)

You're just unlucky. And it was not necessary to invest a lot of money at once. If you do not trade, it is better to keep for a long time and catch the moment. Intraday trading is better not to do, leave it to the professionals.

That is why i always suggest to new people to not to get attracted to every shining co8n, just stick with the big coins like btc, eth whether you are in for trading or just hodling these big ones are less risky and always will grow in value with time with volume growing and new people entering the market.

Seems like your journey of crypto goes really on the bad path. Just in the starting you made first mistake by trusting blindly and most important research. Yeah research is the best part to avoid scam and avoid more loss.  Smiley

I've been here since years and I would like to welcome you.

I would also like to appreciate you sticking around even after suffering staggering losses, but let me assure you made the right decision to stick around and you'll be rewarded for that. The bear season will be over soon and then you know what happens. If trading isn't for you, you'll be amazed to know how much HODLing can do for you.

...If they only got a chance to actually put to test their ideas, then the world would come to appreciate cryptocurrency as a whole...

And that's a very big 'if', but crypto is here to stay for the foreseeable future.

Mnah, and what you want to tell us? That you tried everything and everything was a waste of time?
Maybe the problem is on your side and not in crypto/trading/icos/bounty campaigns and so on. Sorry, but only think about it.
