so i typed in what you suggested and it come back with the answer true. so what next??

it seems like your wallet is out of sync with the blockchain. click on the green/red orb icon in the bottom right of the window or go to tools menu > network to bring up the server selection dialog box. switch to a different server and wait for it to sync with it.

ismine Check if address is in wallet , true means that you actually have that address , I have to say that It's a little bit odd after all this you still can't see the funds in your wallet , do you mind showing a screenshot of the first tab in your Electrum wallet ?

I'm using electrum desktop client on a MAC os-x platform. and the broker that sent it is coinloft. Yeah i figured if it has gone through in the blockchain that it would be in my wallet but its still empty.
Try clicking the solid circle at the bottom and switch to another server. Go to console and run:

ismine('1A7zkcMfBVAHz6APXD7o466QtMtbYet9mS')

is_synchronized()

If the first is false, Electrum client does not have your address.
If your second is false, try to switch to another server.

Is that address listed in your addresses list? Try going to console and enter listunspent() and see if you have that transaction listed.

A wallet doesn't need to activate an address in order for it to work , It should simply generate it so If you already generated the address 1A7zkcMfBVAHz6APXD7o466QtMtbYet9mS then no worries , I still want to know what wallet are you using and what service sent you the BTCs ?

Are you using Bitcoin Core? If not, what client?

I am almost certain that your "activating address" refers to the complete synchronization of blockchain. You can see at the bottom of your Bitcoin Core. You don't need to "activate" your address or anything. Once your wallet is synchronized fully, the amount will appear and you can send the amount.

Just make a backup of your wallet and you are good to go.

Lock the thread if I answered your question.
