Litecoin you did a good deed...

Thanks for your business. I will likely be posting something else for sale soon for LTC.

Check it out in the Alt-chain subforum...

Some of you guys just make me laugh. I did not post this to earn stars or get any rewards. I definitely did not post this to scam any of you. I will never ask people to lend me any money, trust me I don't need your money. I just thought it might be interesting to read and I never wanted to hurt BTC-e, human error, it happens. I trust them and keep using their services.
As you can see, I bough the HD 6990 from "Smoothie" (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/25k-ltc-for-6990-wts-msi-hd-radeon-6990-for-ltc-closed-91263) I paid him 25,000 Litecoins (1000-1650USD).
That's how it all started. I was trying to send him 25k LTC but he claimed that he never received it.
That's a lot of money to give away for that old & used graphics card.

If some of you really think that all this was written to gain trust before "The big scam" I may as well delete this thread.
Life is simple, if you think too much, you may get lost in your own head.
Being over-cautious, too cautious is not what you call "being open minded."

Your screenshot isn't very convincing.  If +540,000 USD was your last transaction, why don't you have at least 540,000 USD current balance?
Beside the point Tongue

+1 to OP.

I received half a million by accident, can I get a bonus as well? Wink

It's good that BTC-e confirmed it, otherwise I would have not believed it. Everybody can make a convincing screenshot.

You should never have problems getting a loan or doing business here, your super pre-approved.  Cheesy

I know this is way up in the clouds, but you must still consider this to be a setup to attempt a scam in the future. < This is just speculation, always keep your mind open.

Yeah but you have one of the owners of the site who confirmed this.

So this guy is pre-approved of not scamming up to 25k! Heh.

Thank you for your honesty!
The bonus credited to your balance!

Hi everyone, as we can see BTC-e's input, they have thanked me and I can confirm that I received that little bonus. Of course, I was not expecting anything. "Thank you" is what I was hoping for and got it.  Smiley

I wish there was more honest people, I've been scammed 5-6 times this year and I just hate that when people run away with a handful of money. Wasting time and money.

Problems come and go, it only matters how we handle them.

Best Wishes to all of you!

You did the right thing letting them know their mistake.  A monetary reward is not necessary for honesty.  Your reward is knowing your integrity is still in check.
+1  though, a 'thank you' would have been a nice bonus atleast. ;p

I agree, a thank you is in order for sure.

Well, given they speak Russian. Why not a "Cпacибo"?

Hmm,I think I would've waited like a month,to see if they'd contact me about their error..If they don't I would think its a gift from GOD,lol.I'd cash it in a give 1/2 to a orphanage or church and Spend the rest on a vacation.Or then again maybe its a test by GOD.So I don't know what I would do.lol. Huh

You are making me laugh now. They would not contact you, they would just take it back. And maybe...Ban you for keeping it quiet.

You did the right thing.

How did it feel to be RICH for a few hours? Smiley

How did it feel? Deja vu. When I was a kid, an old lady dropped her wallet. I picked it up and ran after her. She wanted do give me some money/change, I said: No thank you, you need it more than I do."
That's how it felt.
Did I feel rich when I ran after that old lady? I don't think so. :-)

Thank You!

If I am following your time scale right, did they not hand you an extra 25k LTC?

you said you got one at night, but not second one.

Then in the morning they corrected and it shows 2 more 25k LTC transfers.

No, they did not give me 25k LTC extra. 18.56.13 (4.56.13PM My Time) - That was my today's (3rd) 25K transaction. That did not come through either.
So they gave me that back 19.19.06.
19.14.17 they sent me 25k LTC for that 25,000USD.

You made the world a slightly better place for strangers because of your honesty. This is one of the foundations of a civil society, and while some will try to take advantage of it, most people know you did the right thing.

Thanks everyone. So many nice comments here. BTC-e didn't even bother saying "Thank you."

This points out a huge flaw. I mean, if btc-e can accidentally transfer 25,000 USD like it's nothing to an account, that really makes me worry about their service. All it'd take is a single instance of someone that isn't as honest to turn it into a new gox.

They are Russians. They use Google Translate to read English. I bet it was google who translated LTC as USD lol

I would not question their security. Human error, we all make mistakes. Manual transaction went wrong I guess, honest receiver reported and returned the funds.

Last nigh I wanted to transfer 2x 25,000LTC from my BTC-e account.
For some reason, only one transaction came through.
This morning I contacted BTC-e support and asked them to get it sorted.
15 minutes later they said it's been sorted. When I checked my BTC-e balance, they accidentally gave me 25,000USD instead of 25,000LTC
Of course, I could have converted all that money to Bitcoins and transferred it to one of my wallets.
After half an hour I contacted them and asked to cancel it. Few seconds later, that 25,000USD was removed and replaced with 25,000LTC.
Being nice and honest, doesn't pay very well. Of course (unfortunately) no reward was given for nicely handing 25,000USD over to its owners.
